    Apple Pie. DELIGHTFUL!
    Michael S.

I attended the Halloween 2024 lunch and chose the Duck Pate ($14) for my 1st course and the Striped Bass ($23) for my 2nd course. The Duck Pate was WONDERFUL with the Apple Butter or Mustard on one of the FRESH BAKED breads or rolls. The Striped Bass was lightly flavored, FLAKY and MOUTHWATERING. I finished this MOST EXCELLENT repast with a slice of Apple Pie ($7) with Sea Salt Caramel and French Vanilla Bean Ice Cream on top. An absolutely DELIGHTFUL finish to an OUTSTANDING meal. Service was IMPECCABLE. Ambiance was classy casual. I SHALL RETURN!

Well we finally got to eat in Heaven without showing my sin card. This Schoolcraft Culinary arts lunch experience was a taste of heaven. Under the management of Sandy and under the guidance of at least 5 licensed Chefs how can you go wrong? Our waitress Tanya was in training but her service was exceptional. As we sat at the table we both enjoyed the General Tso Chicken with steamed rice. Snap peas and carmelized carrots. I had the the special Guatamalan brewed coffee along with my Carrot torte cake. My wife had the fresh fruit tarts. The students did a exceptional job cooking up a menu that has several menu entrees and changes everyday. We feasted on homemade bread and butter and the fresh Caesar salad was delicious. Get your reservations in ASAP. They are only open for lunch for now with restricted capacity due to Covid. Located on Haggerty Rd at the Vista Tech center. It sits on schoolcraft college Campus.

Lovely salad with an apple Cider vinaigrette for $2.95.

Just updating here that it's still consistently great. If you want to go, I suggest getting reservations early...*very* early. Like "weeks in advance" early, early. That's what I've already done for January of next year. I'm going to add more pictures to make your mouth water.

Buffet, clockwise from top: Duck terrine, paella, polenta, asparagus salad, deviled eggs.

A student-staffed restaurant within the Schoolcraft College campus, American Harvest offers lunch and dinner options during the academic year. School has just reconvened and second-year students and their instructors were already hard at work in the front and back of the restaurant. Currently, American Harvest offers rotating, internationally-themed buffet dinners. Recently, the tastes of Europe and the Mediterranean were featured. The menu that evening consisted of: Starters: - Asparagus salad - Polenta - Deviled eggs - Duck terrine - outstanding - Paella Entrées: - House-stuffed sausage with sauerkraut - the sausage was delicious, I could have made an entire meal of this dish alone - Stuffed cabbage - Pork loin and red cabbage with apple sauce and potatoes au gratin - Moussaka - Incredibly good, seasoned well - Coq au vin - full of flavor - Cassoulet - stand-out dish - Spaetzle Dessert: - Crème brûlée - probably the best I had this year with a thin crackling crust - Lemon macaron with a delicate lemon and raspberry filling - better than anything you will find in most bakeries here, exquisite - Several chocolate options - Petit fours - éclair and cream puff - Bread pudding - served warm with a caramel bourbon sauce - also quite a treat Above represents the majority of items offered. There was an impressive variety of well-prepared items but some of them just did not make it to the table. Dinner is $27 per person which is a bargain given the quality of the food and the level of service. Wine is available with the meal. Lunch is a la carte. If you do go for lunch, be sure to order the Marjolaine for dessert - incredible! Last year, the Latin-themed buffet was the most popular which will be featured a few times this fall so be sure to make a point of visiting.

Located on the campus of Schoolcraft College inside the VistaTech Center, the American Harvest Brewpub is run by Schoolcraft students! Very good selection of 10 beers brewed on-site. You can buy on draft or in bottles. Open to the general public on Saturday's from 5pm-9pm.

    Trio of Dumplings

It's always fun to see what's cookin' in the kitchen and the American Harvest at Schoolcraft's College of Culinary Arts is no exception. Although American Harvest may conjure up images of traditional Americana, the menu that we saw was anything but. It was a mix of culinary cultures, perhaps a reflection of its students' interests. Along with each menu item, was the name of the Schoolcraft College Culinary Arts student who was responsible for each dish. The dining room had a cafeteria-ish vibe to it but we liked the prettily decorated cakes and mini chocolate sculptures that decorated the sides of the room. The room was fairly empty on a weeknight but nevertheless service was spotty. There were some hits and some misses on the menu. We liked the presentation of our Trio of Dumplings appetizer. I tried the Asian Wonton style dumpling and the Chicken Empanada type dumpling and they were good but the latter was a bit doughy. I also tried the soup that day, a Mediterranean Couscous & Veggie soup which was rather bland and heavy on the couscous. My friends tried the 3 and 4 course prix-fixe menus. There was a fish and cream cheese course that was universally disliked. The Salad and Oxtail & Mashed Potatoes courses got a thumbs up. Everyone seemed to like their main dishes. I had a nicely cooked Salmon that came with Green Beans & Rice and a Citrus-y Sauce. The Chocolate Souffle was more cakey and doughy than light and souffle-y but of course we chocolate hounds ate it up. Actually our favorite "dish" was the Lemon Basil Sorbet. It was meant to be a palate cleanser but really it could be featured as a unique and refreshing dessert on its own! I would buy that stuff by the pint. Check it out if you're in the neighborhood!

Would give this a 4.5 if it were possible. My review is based on the dinner buffet. First off, if you want to go, you need to make a reservations weeks or months in advanced! Now the price of $27 isn't cheap but it's not that expensive either given that it's a buffet of high quality food. Plus the more you eat the less it costs per piece of food, right? ;) The desserts are absolutely gorgeous and to me are the highlight. The other food is hit or miss for me but most of it was very good. There were 6 main entrees that all came with meat/seafood (lamb, pork loin, salmon, chicken, etc) and each was paired with 2 sides. I don't eat that much meat so I wish they had one main vegetarian option like pasta or something but nevertheless the sides were all very good for the most part (lentils, rice, mashed potatoes, root veggies, plantains, fried potatoes). They also had 2 soups and an assortment of salads (not like lettuce salad but like cold veggies, cheese, fruit type salad). They were very pretty as well! Also every table gets a basket of assorted bread which was delicious but when is bread not? Oh and the ambience was nice for being a school! It was much nicer than I imagined. Now for the complaints. Keep in mind it's student run so I'm not going to dock them too hard and I'm writing this in hopes someone will see it so they can improve. First off, when we were seated they said someone will come take your drink orders and bring bread and then you can go serve yourself. We didn't time it, but at some point, it felt like they forgot about it. It may have been as much as 10-15 minutes we were waiting. When it was clear they weren't coming, we just got up and started eating. Second, the waiter was not giving us enough space. He kept coming by and taking our dishes away so we felt rushed. At one point he proceeded to take away my water cup when I was still eating?! At first I thought he was refilling it but he was taking it away. Then he dropped the bills off and said "absolutely no rush." But then he kept coming by and feeling the receipt to see if a credit card was underneath so we did feel rushed! It was the end of the night too so it wasn't like someone was waiting for our table and there were still 4 other groups of people there.

Good service but food took a long time. Good prices for the food. But not really my preference.

Very nice to visit. We went to their dinner buffet. It was Asian flavor day. The price was a bit high. The reservation was little hard to get yet the restaurant was not full. Maybe they were adjusting based on preparation. The dessert bar was excellent. Most of entrees were good and was in original flavor. Some were fusion flavor.

Chicken, brussel sprouts, a scalloped potatoes stack, and a zucchini wheel with remoulade.

My wife and I had reservations for the Schoolcraft College American Harvest Restaurant International culinary practical exam (that's a mouthful in itself!). You can book them on OpenTable. Food was generally good, plating was great especially for the desserts, and it was very quiet that evening in terms of traffic. Not everything was good but it was worth trying various dishes (it was a buffet).

Salads !!! So fresh and delicious

Wholesome good quality food. This kind of fresh vegetables in the middle of winter in Michigan is only available in very small portions () in very high priced best restaurants. Here they are beautifully cooked and of available in unlimited portions. There were 10 different kinds of salads to 5 different vegetable side dishes for each of their entrees. The different kinds of good quality meat and seafood entrees were also very well prepared. Review will be incomplete without mention of again ten ( literally) different kind of desserts which tasted as as good as they promised by their amazing appearance. For $27/adult and $13 /child this is the best deal around which every foodie should get a chance to visit

The beer was good at 6pm and to it you could order some bar snacks as Pretzels and Pizza slices. Unfortunate the Charcuterie board was out.

The food always tastes fantastically fresh, and the beer hits the spot. I've had the reuben (so tasty) but the grilled chicken sandwich really absolutely blew me away. I didn't know it could make me so happy. On this occassion, I ordered the half-size caesar salad with grilled chicken, and I could feel happy and content that I'd gone the healthier route while still treating my tastebuds. Also, as if to go above and beyond in service, I had a nearby meeting and placed my take away order before my meeting kicked off, telling them what time I expected to be done. When my meeting finished? A freshly made lunch was waiting for me. Magical. Game changing. So happy. The only caveat I could say that it has a very small seating area, and, depending on whether or not there are conference-type events in VistaTech, it can get very busy very quickly. For that I would potentially knock it down to a 4.5 star, but the food and beer quickly makes up for it. So happy to see these kinds of food offerings to Schoolcraft's campus. They've done a stellar job, and it'd be nice to see them expand.

I had a craft beer they bragged about brewing and it was FLATTER THEN FLAT. I would have rather had a warm bud light tranny beer. Our entrees were also sub Applebee's quality. We'll not be going back, and would have enjoyed Applebee's MUCH MORE. I almost laughed at the waitress, when she asked if we were reward members. I don't see this place lasting long. Good luck.
