I carefully ordered a custom couch, when it came damaged multiple people assured me their policy was to replace it. The salesman said he ordered the replacement. Eight months later, when asked where it was I was told "that's not what we do!" Multiple people at that company lied to my face and never came clean until I called them on it. We ordered a sofa and a love seat for a total of 8K. I texted with the sales person about our delivery date of 9/6 and the text is still on my phone. I called today to find out what time to expect it and was told the delivery date was changed to 9/26. I called the delivery number, they had no idea why it was changed. I texted sales person, she said she had no idea and I should call the store. The manager at the store said I should call the sales person I had already spoken to. When I explained that, he said since he didn't have anything to do with the transaction , he couldn't help me. Everyone passes the blame and no one wants to take responsibility. As we arrived we were greeted by the Manager and we were informed of the sale going on we were just browsing so we went around and came across a recliner that we loved and were approached by Joseph who was extremely helpful in finding out if we could get two of them and explained the sale price and scheduled the pick up day/time for us and gave us his contact info so we could call him if we had troubles when picking up. Over July 4th weekend, my husband and I went into the Santa Fe store because of their 2 free hotel nights promotions and purchased a reclining sofa and chair for over $2,500. We qualified for the hotel voucheR. We were told we would receive it about two weeks after our first billing statement. Well that would have been late August. No voucher. Called our salesperson and was assured we would receive it shortly. Now 3 months later, no voucher. Just empty promises. I'll never shop there again! read more

Worst delivery service I have ever experienced. The first attempt at delivery they arrived with a truck that was too big to get to the location. Had to reschedule a month or so later and the sleeper couch arrived damaged. After several weeks a technician was sent and determined that it could not be repaired and needed to be replaced. More than 1 month later they attempted to replace the old couch but once again it was on a truck that was too large. This is after multiple notifications from us that they would need to have a smaller truck for delivery. Now we are still waiting on a reschedule of delivery. Based on our experience I would NEVER order anything from American Home. As a side note, the salesman was quite good and we liked the furniture we received that was not damaged. However, our delivery experience has colored our view of this business forever. read more

It was all due to this terrific sales person Christina Dallas. She not only went out of her way to find me what I needed but she was so patient with me... and because of that I went back for more furniture. Now during COVID19 I'm trying to shop for a mattress - found one at American Furniture in Santa Fe, NM, BUT American Furniture currently is offering no exchange or refund on mattresses due to COVID which is preventing them from making sales. Every other mattress store in town is still offering their regular exchange or return policy. I've left 4 messages in the last 2 days for the general manager in Albuquerque because I was told he's the manager for the Santa Fe store also - today is day 3 and still no response. When calling the store after 10:00 a.m. get a recording saying the store is currently closed and opens at 10:00 a.m. I've called as late as 11:30 and still get the message saying the store is currently closed!! No way to be running a business :( read more

I actually like their products. The prices are OK. And until recently I would have said their service was good, but no longer. I bought an end table, which had to be shipped a week later from the warehouse. I showed up on the designated day -- no table. I waited to be called for the arrival, and returned again -- no table. I waited for another call, and returned again -- legs only. I was told I had picked up the top, which I hadn't. Instead I waited while they took apart a floor model and gave me that top, which I was assured was in good condition. So 4 visits and 3 weeks later, essentially I got what I could have picked up on the first try -- a floor model. Wow. And from what the delivery guys in the back told me, I was not the only one. Apparently the sales people don't know how to place orders, which means they are either incompetent or inadequately trained. read more

My wife purchased some furniture and the very next day decided to cancel it. She was told she could do this by the sales person, Lydia. When she called back the next day she was told she needed to talk to Abraham and she'd have him call back. After several calls to the business, Abraham was never available and never called back. After 3 weeks of trying to get hold of Abraham she finally talked to Mike who agreed to cancel the order and refund the credit card. It's been an ordeal. American Home has the best selection of furniture in Santa Fe for those of us in the middle income bracket. They have wonderful furniture and a great team. We moved to Santa Fe with our furniture following us weeks later. I had 2 sprained ankles and we were sleeping on a blow-up bed. We went to the store to buy a bedroom set and found exactly what we wanted. Alphonso and the manager of the store pulled all sorts of strings to get the bed delivered within days so I wouldn't have to sleep on the blow-up bed - which was a real challenge to get up from. Their helpfulness and concern was very touching. We have already returned to the store to purchase more items and Alphonso is there to great us every time. I would recommend this establishment to everyone. You won't be disappointed. read more

I bought a sofa back in feb 2014 I was told it would come to the store for pick up the following week i told the sales guy I would pick it up at the end of April due to the fact I was remodeling he said that would be fine I came the first week of March to check and see if the sofa was at the store yet and I was told it was and I asked again about picking it up at the end of April I was told that was fine all I had to do was show my order form to the guys at customer pick up well today I spent all morning going to espanola NM to pick up a truck when I got here to the store my sofa was not here and I was So upset the sales guy and the manager looked into and turns out the warehouse guy sent it back the same week it got here to the store I told the manager how I spent a 100 bucks to get my friends truck the manager said well we can have it here by Tuesday and I told him I am not going to borrow my friends truck again pay him again and waste another day the manger asked to give him some time to see what he could do he came back and gave me 3 sofas to pick from that did cost more then the one I paid for I didn't really like them I seen one I liked that cost 430.00 plus tax the one I had bought was 380.00 and the 3 he showed me were 399.00 I told him I would pay the 30.00 more if I could get this sofa since it was only 30.00 more then the sofas he wanted to let me have for the stores mistake he said let me see if I can give you this one then cause I don't want you to pay anymore for our mistake so he came back and said I could have it we all make mistakes it don't matter what store you go to we as humans make mistakes what counts is making your mistake right and fixing it Tom Lopez went above and beyond and he made up for the mistake and he turned my frown up side down he made sure that I was happy and I went home with a sofa most places would of just said sorry and made me wait for the sofa I bought to be sent back out and I would of had to waste another day and pay my friend again for his truck I am thankful to Tom and John for doing they job right making the customer A important part of the place thank you guys read more
