This is incredibly manipulative. I know many of those employees would not be leaving a 5 star review unless there was financial incentive. This is purposefully meant to trick perspective residents into thinking they're going into a 5 star facility but it's actually poorly ran. I included a small collection of examples.

He participated in a lot of the activities. Level 2 I would give 3.9 stars. When my father was moved to this unit I realized they don't have enough staff to keep the residents engaged. It's at this level that each resident needs more care but there isn't enough staff to deliver that care. This unit is locked so residents don't wander the facility. Level 3 is downstairs and is a little chaotic. I give this unit 3.1 stars. Not enough care for the needs of every resident exists in this unit too. When you take the tour I recommend spending 15 minutes within each unit so you get the feel for the level of care each resident receives. I do like the level of security they have in place and how clean they keep every room.

I would highly recommend staying far away from this facility. My 87-year old mother lived there for…read morethe past year, until July when she fell in her bathroom and broke her hip. She fell at 2am on a Sunday. The facility is supposed to check on their residents by 9 am. No one checked on my mother that day at all. Infuriating. I talk with mother usually every Sunday so when I didn't hear back from her by Monday morning, I called Crestview to do a wellness check. Tori said she went to check on mom and said that mom was just tired but okay. So it took me calling to get them to check on her. Turns out that later in the day, another gal named Lisa, found my mom at 3pm still lying on the bathroom floor, in pain. She called 911 and my mom was taken to the hospital - after lying on the floor for 37 hours. So much for good care. We found a new place for mom and when I went to clean our mom's apt at Crestview last week, the director Christina asked to speak to me. She denied that we had left her any voice messages and said she didn't receive any - from myself, my aunt and also mom's social worker. Christina insisted we give a written 30-day notice and that mom has to pay for September rent despite her move being involuntary, as she can no longer live independently. I asked Christina if there was any way we could reach an agreement since we are not a litigious family, but she was unwilling to budge at all. OH, P.S. The State of Missouri is now investigating them for the elder abuse.

We have used a few services that you pay for such as Senior Helpers when she had a wound that needed daily tending and that was very helpful and reassuring. Also the on-site salon for haircuts and pedicures is convenient. One huge downside to caution about is that meals are not served at all on Sunday nights. This has been burdensome for our family and other residents have grumbled about this repeatedly. They get used to not cooking and then there is no meal and families are not always able to help. So then it's cold leftovers or PBJ. But that is the only down side, other than that, it's a wonderful place and we would recommend it!

My sweet mom who had dementia lived here for 2 years, 8 mos before peacefully passing. I live in…read moreNew England , but was able to visit her every 3-4 months for a few days each visit. What I observed at Dolan is reason for my reviewing. Some of Dolan staff at her house were lovely, but a lot were not. The turnover of staff very concerning, over 30 workers left within my moms short time. The head RNs that ran the house as well. There is a huge lack of training for dementia, huge lack of engagement with clients, a lot of TV time as well. The music people that come in 1-2x a week are excellent and probably best part and the girl who came maybe 1x a week for a craft was lovely and engaging. But the personal care I'd give a zero to. I told management, Steve and Tim Dolan these negatives I saw, numerous times I was visiting and there was NEVER any follow up or changes. Saw the same lack of engagement every visit, weekends being the worst. Beware before you sign your family member up. I think all houses may be different. I'd recommend talking to other families before you sign up, not families that Steve or Tim recommend , but random families. Stop in unannounced see what is really going on,. Beware there is only 1 staff person on duty at house for 12 hours alone with 10 elderly people. They also expect the caregivers to cook and clean WHILE they are supposed to be engaging with your loved ones which I found odd. I was there too many times where 5-6 people lined up in front of TV and the 2 person staff not to be seen. It s difficult job, but please do your homework on the Dolan house your family member will be living before you move them there.

Our family had many issues and wrote emails several times. Never received any response from this company. For the amount of money they are charging these residents things should be much better than they are there. They are having trouble finding enough staff and what staff they have are not trained properly to handle dementia or Alzheimer's residents. We had several incidents where our father was neglected.

Our precious mother was one of the original residents in Memory care at Westview of Ellisville,…read moreand we were extremely satisfied with the care she received for the first five years. We were able to be with mom every day for all of those years, often multiple times each day. We have seen it all!! Within the past 2 years Westview has been under new administration. It has become a different place. The director of memory care has been so impossible to work with, 9 of the best CNA staff have left WV. She has been rude and disrespectful to me and my family. She doesn't even look at us when we speak to her. My sister has refused to talk to her since Dec. 27. When I tried to talk to her , She closed her door and pretended to not be in her office, I loudly said. "I'm not leaving until I talk to you. " she finally came out of her office. On another occasion I asked if memory care was fully staffed that day. Her response to me was. "YOU DON'T GOTTA KNOW. " I did have the right to know. On another occasion I asked a CNA if there was full staff, she responded "yes, the new girl.. " I asked her name, the CNA said that she was told to tell me that. There was no new girl. Director of memory care instructed a staff member to lie. UNETHICAL !!! I reported that to the executive director. Nothing happened. Myself and several other resident's family members complained that the memory care director, as well as CNA staff talk and text on their phones continuously, while Feeding residents, pushing wheelchairs, working in rooms, serving food. What kind of care are the residents getting if staff is talking and texting on their phones. The staff in assisted living, serving staff, kitchen staff, and office staff, and housekeeping staff DON't do that. The care plan was followed at their whim. I can't count the times she did not have on pjs, She had on a soaked brief, or was pushed off to the side. On multiple occasions mom's thermostat was at 60 degrees in her room. Executive Director was told about that. Her response was to say we'll put a cage on thermostat. That Never happened. Why would anyone put a thermostat at 60? Prior to the new director, staff toileted residents before a change of shift. I NEVER SAW THAT. The halls frequently smell of bm and urine. When asked when mom was toileted, no one had an answer. There was no schedule or consistency. When we asked for mom's shower caddy, the CNA had no idea what we were talking about. Everything was kept in the residents rooms. Pretty sure that is against state guidelines. The good CNA s complain they were given no training by the memory care director. Complaints to the executive director did absolutely no good. Nothing ever changed. She said she was "working on it". Multiple residents have pulled their parents out, stating that "mom's not safe here. " There are some exceptional staff there, but they are fed up with the TOXIC environment in memory care. (Their words, not mine) They know who they are, and we thanked them as we left the building, asking them to take care of residents. Westview asked us to find another community. WE DID, and thank God for mom's new home. As I said on no our way out. "I make no apology for demanding and expecting quality care for mom." We simply were not getting it. For the sake of the wonderful families OF MEMORY CARE, and their loved ones, please DO SOMETHING!!! If you have a loved one at westview of Ellisville, visit there often, visit at different times, and believe your loved ones stories about how they are treated. You have the right to expect quality care, and if you're not getting it, there are other MUCH MUCH MORE caring communities in west county.
