A person from this business comes to our home for kitchen measurements and doesn't really communicate with us, maybe autistic, we don't know. He took pictures and measurements, "maybe" and left. Never got back to us. Was this even a legitimate employee? Tried calling, and they don't call back. Really poor and unprofessional business customer service. read more

Had our Kitchen done by AKC about four years ago. Very happy. My wife and a friend went in to look at cabinets and counter tops for the bathroom. Her friend was looking at counter tops for her kitchen. My wife had told them AKC did our kitchen. My wife asked about granite and was told they don't do granite. They said the granite we bought four years ago was worthless. They said we sell only quartz. When asked about pricing my wife was told we could not afford the counter tops that they now sell. I am not sure how they know what we can afford or can't afford. I'm pretty sure if we can do an complete Kitchen remodel we can do a bathroom. We will go down the road for better service. I love my cabinets however I have been trying to substitute a microwave cabinet for two drawers instead since before Covid. they came out and measured and promised to get the drawers. months and many calls and broken promises later, still no drawers. claimed they ordered them twice and both times the drawers were damaged. then told me they had them but they were too busy to install them. I even went by there a couple of months ago and while I was promised a call--nothing. if you didnt want to do the work you should have just said so up front instead of lying. read more

The bid came in as expected and in good time. Darlene, the scheduler, had our work scheduled out efficiently and was super responsive to calls and email (very important to me). Everything was on time. Their contractors were excellent for cabinets and countertop installations. We bought the Karmen cabinets and they are lovely and were a good price. I bought the Home Depot cabinets a year ago and the quality was so poor I my wife and I agreed to bite the bullet to get it done right. What's the point of a new kitchen if its crappy? So my kitchen cost me the price of crappy cabinets AND the price of real cabinets. Penny wise, pound poor. Anyway, here's my story - I thought I could get a better deal by shopping around. I brilliantly had a real cabinet shop draw up plans and then took them to HD. HD wasn't even that much cheaper, but I thought I found the loophole to a great kitchen. Turns out 'You get what you pay for' is more than good advice, its a natural law. The shop had enough options to evaluate exactly what I wanted in the store. Mark and the older guy with white hair took care of everything like industry veterans. They drew great plans based on what we liked about our old kitchen, the showroom, and what we wanted. We had to wait a couple of weeks to get exactly what we wanted. This shop is busy, and there's a reason for that. Getting anything done with contractors is difficult, so I was prepared for some setbacks. They're notoriously overbooked, late, flaky, and dealing with finicky customers. These guys got it done without a hitch. I'm sure there are hitches sometimes because that's how the construction industry works, but summer 2014 worked well for me. So after two purchases and the home disruption of two installs I'm finally happy with my kitchen. It turns out that paying for quality from professionals is worth the the money and time. read more

What started off as a pleasant experience turned into one that just raises eyebrows of how they are still in business. My wife and I had discussed, planned and saved for years to get our kitchen redone. We had gone to other places for bids on cabinets and really liked the layout shown to us by AKC, but ended up going with a different local cabinet maker that presented a great custom cabinet design for thousands less. We were also looking at counter tops and again got several different bids. We liked the bid we got from AKC and were very interested with going with them for the counter tops. We rechecked our choices in material and decided on a different stone and were told it required another bid that came back much higher than the first. This is when things got weird. My wife went in to discuss the original bid and double check the material. Don blew up in her face and bawled her out, he wouldn't even let her talk about the job. He stated that since he did not get the cabinet bid, he really didn't want to help any further with the counter tops. Then he said he did not want to work with us at all. This is the first time I have ever had "the middleman " eliminate himself. You forgot where the money comes from, I guess. I will not recommend your business to anyone, in fact I'll push everyone, I know, in a different direction. read more

American Kitchen Cabinets were extremely easy to work with. Don and Mark had been recommended to us by a close family friend who had used them. My wife and I had saved and planned our project for many years, making do in a very unappealing kitchen. I've managed many other home repair projects from additions, bathroom remodel, and deck builds; and Don and Mark were easy to speak to, work with and were prompt with all communications. No project is without hiccups but AKC were responsive and quick to correct any issue. Don came and measured, listened to our ideas and helped us make decisions on layout and added features. We visited their showroom and selected our colors and styles. Don advised a few things we hadn't considered that later made our kitchen all the better! Mark later came out to double check measurements, offer a few other ideas and finalize the plan and bid. They were right on time with the time table they gave us. Delivered on time. Installed on time. Darlene kept us in the loop as things got ordered, delivered and installers scheduled. She is the MVP of this project. She was always nice on the phone with my multitude of calls with questions. We did have a small hiccup (normal for construction) with final trim pieces being not correct and Mark quickly ordered new ones that were correct and installed. The time from start to 100% was longer than planned but we had a workable space on time and the trim wasn't really a big deal. We also added a small change while awaiting the trim and Mark ordered the needed pieces and took care of it when final trim was installed. Everything fit perfectly, was exactly how we had envisioned and my wife and I are extremely happy. We have received so many compliments on our kitchen, but for us the functionality has been the highlight. I would highly recommend AKC to friends and family. My wife and I recently purchased three bathroom vanities and a linen cabinet from American Kitchen Cabinets and were highly pleased and satisfied with our experience dealing with Don and Darlene. Both Don and Darlene, two very professional, courteous and knowledgeable individuals, worked closely with us resulting in our getting exactly what we were looking for which were vanities and a cabinet that were well made and attractive. Also an important factor to us was the time frame involved in the process. All the products were delivered in a timely manner and exactly as projected by Darlene who did work closely and patiently with our contractor as well as with my wife and myself. Lastly, the pricing was reasonable and was that which we anticipated paying for quality material and workmanship. I was very impressed with this company when I visited their showroom. That opinion changed in a hurry. After repeated no-shows and late arrivals at the build site, we should have switched to another company. Unfortunately, we didn't. Almost every piece that was made for our new house was inaccurately measured or designed. Both of the bathroom cabinets had drawers where the pipes come out and had to be redone by the installer! Most of the other pieces also needed to be modified to fit in their locations. The install that should have taken a couple of days has gone on for weeks due to the needed modifications. read more

The design support was fine. The problem arose about 3 months after the installation by an outside contractor. One of the cabinets started cracking at the hinge. I contacted Mark who (without ever looking at the cabinet) said the cracking was a result of improper adjustment by the contractor who did the installation. I questioned this but agreed to have one of Mark's installers take a look at it. It took 4 months to finally get the installer to come to our home to look at the cabinet. Our issue did not seem a priority. He agreed to repair the cabinet and would call to schedule. He never called. I left several messages and did not receive a return call. I contacted Mark who apologized and gave me the name and number of another one of his installers who would call asap. We never received a call from this installer. I left several messages with the installer but did not get a call back. Since then, I have emailed and left several messages with Mark explaining the issue. Neither Mark nor any of his employees has returned any of my emails or calls. It have been over a year since this whole problem started. I would never recommend this company. read more
