I've had three Excel V laser treatments with Dr. Greene, and each one has been such a positive experience. He goes above and beyond to ensure comfort--offering small but meaningful touches like stress balls to squeeze, talking through every step, and having his assistant use a cold roller throughout. These details made such a difference in helping me feel calm and cared for. I've never felt so at ease during a medical treatment. Dr. Greene also takes the time to really explain things--he has a screen mounted on the wall that shows helpful graphics about skin and treatments, and he walks you through it in a way that's clear, respectful, and empowering. After a year of plucking in my car mirror (oh my goodness girls, whateva u do - DON'T PLUCK! it makes them come back BLACKER and THICKER till you've got it goin' on like Poncho Villa) I just couldn't deal with my macho man prickles any longer. I tried out pretty much all the electrologists in town. Seriously, I shopped around 'cuz I'm on a budget and I don't have money to be throwing around. And since I didn't know too much about electrolysis, they all seemed pretty much the same, more or less. I'd get all these little red zits, and, unlike my money, the hair wasn't going a-n-y-w-h-e-r-e. I finally came to Be A New Creation Spa on the recommendation of a long time friend (of mine) and client (of theirs). Her exquisitely feminine chin and upper lip is smooth as a jar of honey, and had surreptitiously been the focus of my envy for quite a while before I wrangled her out of her little secret. Once there, I realized what was wrong with all those other places I'd been: they'd been zapping and then PLUCKING my dang hairs!!! See - it's like this, girls: killing a hair takes a lot of experience - the electrolygist has to slide this little tiny probe into the hair follicle and, basically, use her electrolygist's intuition to sense when it hits right where the root grows. Then she can deliver a little electrical zap and it kills the follicle so the hair doesn't grow back. Ever. Yessssssss! The problem is, it takes a super steady hand, a sharp eye, and YEARS to develop the intuition to know when you're in that follicle right where you're supposed to be. You can be too shallow and miss the bulb, or you can go too deep and pierce the skin. And you can only zap around in there so many times before the follicle gets all pissed off and develops a nice whitehead. That's when, if they haven't gotten it yet - they just PLUCK it out and move on. And what does PLUCKING do to our hairs, class? Of course they don't TELL you that they goofed it - they just say "ooooooh, darn, that one was stubborn!" and change the subject, while you're paying to make your chin even hairier than it was before. See how that works? This is the DIFFERENCE at Be A New Creation Spa, plain and simple. I've had appointments with hair removal gurus Roberta and Christine ... and one other talented lass, whose name escapes me at the moment... but the point is - THEY NEVER HAVE HAD TO PLUCK A SINGLE HAIR. Not one... single... one. Bottom line - I get my money's worth each and every time. It's simply a matter of talent and experience, and these ladies have well over a decade of it. To top it all off - I've spent more other places, but NEVER less!! And if you pre-pay for a package (really, it's the way to go) you can save a mint. My horrible little patch of hairs has become just a memory ...that I'll repress ...and in time, come to deny altogether... "ME...with a Poncho Villa 'stache??! Girl, you lie like a rug! Why, my chin has ALWAYS been softer than Tinkerbell's heiney ...in mink underoos..." Last but not least, these women are kind, and REAL, and I don't know about you, but I appreciate that. I went in for a laser treatment, got a chemical peel and had burning/stabbing pain on my face right after the peel. My cheeks became red and discolored for over a week, and I was scared because it was my face. I documented everything, including the fact that the consent form was signed after the treatment, not before. The provider did refund me and sent aquaphor after she was scared of a lawsuit. She refused to reimburse a derm appointment. My skin did improve but there is still pain and pigmentation. The way the business handled my concern afterward was awful. Instead of simply focusing on aftercare and making sure my skin was okay, the Director of Operations Jesse started questioning my "claims," my "intentions," and even called me a "Groupon shopper." That was rude, discriminatory, insulting, and completely unnecessary. I came in as a paying customer. Whether I used Groupon or not has nothing to do with how I should be treated when I report pain and a reaction on my face. If not for groupon, this place wouldn't be able to pay the rent which is why they advertise on Groupon in the first place. They withheld meds that they claim to have ordered in lieu of more photos everyday so they can "verify" their claims. Due to a confusion with the order number, they figured I bought another groupon from another spa way before going to Skintegrity. None of my other groupons had anything to do with the treatment I went in for nor it should matter to the business. This is invasion of privacy without cause. I was also told I was "obviously trying to build a case," which is ridiculous. I was trying to make sure my skin healed and that I had proper documentation because the reaction happened immediately after their treatment. A customer reporting burning, tenderness, and discoloration after a facial treatment should be treated with care, not attitude. The communication afterward made me feel dismissed, judged, and attacked. I would not trust this place with my skin again.
