When returning it, we also had our generators on the truck that had failed and we were taking for service. The owner of North Main Tool Rental got out his propane tank and started them both (while standing in the hot sun and sweating)! They ran perfectly. He explained that sometimes when you hook up a propane tank they can get an air gap and that keeps them from starting. He said you simply turn off the tank unscrew the connection, you'll hear a hiss, hook it back up and it should work. May God bless he, his family and his business! He probably saved us a pile money for uneeded repair fees!

Worst equipment rental business ever in my 24 years of construction renting history. This place has…read morea few newer equipment but they mostly have old broken down equipment which they mostly rent out. They have no after hour and weekend contact or phone number, not even an email. So when the junk rental they send you break out which 9 of 10 times it does, you have no way of getting a hold of anyone and you are just screwed. They known about this for years and does not care, this is the way they do business. At the time of rental they tell you that if the equipment breaks down they will come service it free of charge, but they don't. "It's not their problem" they said to old broken down equipment and down time that you couldn't use their equipment...just tough luck for you. They'll come pickup their trashy equipment on the schedule date regardless of your situations and to top it off....they charge you more then what they told you and invoice you to begin with; like delivery fee, etc. Plus they'll do everything in their power to never return your security deposit and if you're lucky you may get $80 of your $350 deposit back 2 months later. Yelp. Time for lawsuit and BBB action on this small business who is in the business to rip people off.

The only negative thing I have to say is their wait time. For the lift, they were pretty busy despite haveing a scheduled appointment. That and the very poor wifi connection in the shop with no cell service was hard to do anything productful. I ended up having to leave my truck there over night since I had prior obligations, my appointment started at 8am but I wasn't told it wouldn't be finished until 4-5pm until 2hours into appointed time. When I arrived for the appointment I was told it would take an hour to an hour and a half and they were spot on. The only downside of the wait time was the designated space they have for waiting. A handful of chairs in the back of the front showroom. A TV or a water cooler/coffee maker would substantially upgrade the comfort level, but alas they are new as assumed by the "now open" flags flying outside, so they get a pass for that. All in all I highly recommend VIP for hitch install over UHaul who said it would take a couple of weeks.
