Prior to Saturday, June 17th, '23, I had been to Trigger Time once with a long-standing member of the club. Even though I have shot a great number of guns there - as well as out in the wilderness - I knew that I needed formal instruction. The father & son teaching the class together were superb (Perry & Troy Morris). Both certified by the NRA, I knew that these two men were the real deal. [They also struck me as really good humans.]    The lecture portion of the course was nicely jazzed up with humor and interaction, and the Powerpoint presentation itself wasn't a snoozer like so many Power Points wind up being. These astute learning leaders maintained our attention and alertness by providing frequent breaks and interesting facts throughout the day.   Regarding the hands-on portion of the class, Troy and Perry were marvelously encouraging and provided the perfect amount of assistance & intervention.  From loading and proper grip to stance & hitting the target, the father & son team made the experience downright enjoyable. Since taking the class, my intimidation and fear in handling guns has diminished greatly and my basic pistol skills seem more solidified. That being said, I am going to recommend the Pistol Basics class - and Trigger Time, the business itself, particularly to other women.

This is a private gun club with several public shooting events. They promote shooting sports and…read moreshooting safety for the whole family. From their website : The objectives of the club include : "1. The encouragement of organized rifle, pistol, and shotgun shooting among residents of the County of Larimer and nearby locations, with a view towards a better knowledge on the part of such persons of the safe handling and proper care of firearms, as well as improved marksmanship. 2. The encouragement of hunting and fishing and related activities and to further the development of those characteristics of honesty, fellowship and good sportsmanship among its members and the public in general. 3. The promotion and support of conservation programs and wise management of wildlife. 4. To foster understanding by the general public, and especially its non-hunting members, of the need for game management through regulated hunting, and to build a greater rapport between sportsmen and landowners on whose lands we would like to fish and hunt. 5. The promotion of the highest degree of sportsmanship and good fellowship among the membership of the Club, and the prevention of unsportsmanlike conduct." I have been to this range on several occasions. The first time was for a first shots rifle class many years ago with my girl scouts. They were interested in trying the class. I was really scared though as i had been scared of guns my whole life. Coming out of the class though i felt more educated and found i did enjoy shooting. I came back for a first shots hand gun and first shots shot gun class. And also enjoyed their annual rimfire carnival one year. They limit their membership to 800 folks and sign up/registration is the beginning of august.

It was a calm bright summer day- beautiful on the lake but it can make for slow fishing in mid-summer. Jed got us on fish, bite was slow but steady. I had heard about Scheels for years but never stepped inside one. A friend of mine from Minnesota…read moreused to drive past the huge Scheels billboards whenever I visited, and for some reason I assumed it was more of a farm supply type place where people bought machinery and work clothes. Because of that completely wrong assumption, I never bothered to go in. Fast forward a few years and after reading the reviews here in Colorado I finally decided I had to see it for myself. Yesterday, March 6th, the weather was miserable. Cold, windy, light snow and rain. Not the kind of day you want to be outside, let alone skiing. So I figured it was the perfect day to finally give Scheels a try. I ended up spending five hours in the store and taking more than 250 photos, and this place absolutely blew my mind. There were sports and equipment sections I didn't even know existed. The store truly has everything you could possibly need and then some. What impressed me most was the staff. They were knowledgeable and helpful but didn't hover every five seconds like some stores do, which allowed me to really explore and absorb everything. The shoe selection was outstanding with every kind of running shoe, ski boot, work boot and outdoor footwear you could imagine, and the shoe staff were clearly well trained helping customers. I also spent about 45 minutes in the luggage section, which was surprisingly impressive. It's clearly a curated department run by someone who truly understands travel. I spoke with a luggage specialist who I believe is from Asia and a serious world traveler herself. She was incredibly knowledgeable and immediately understood what I meant when I told her I was tired of hard-sided luggage and wanted something built for an active lifestyle. She introduced me to a beautiful 100-liter Patagonia rolling duffel with durable wheels, strong zippers, and soft-sided construction that can actually handle real travel. These types of bags come with lifetime guarantees on the wheels and zippers, and now I'm officially saving my pennies to buy one. The store itself was alive and buzzing with families, couples, hunters, skiers and outdoor enthusiasts everywhere. The only section that felt a little thin was the women's golf apparel where most of the XS sizes were gone, while the men's golf section was very well stocked. Parking was plentiful and easy. Scheels isn't just a sporting goods store. It's an experience.

Colorado gifts, Denver broncos, nuggets, and avalanche collectibles. Hunting, fishing, guns, ammo, knives, barbecue supplies, a sportsman's dream come true. I was blown away by the customer service, kindness, and kindness professionalism of these owner-operators. I just wish it were a little closer to my house.
