Amazing Class!! My female friend and I have been talking about taking a conceal carry class for some time. We both arrived without much expectation of it being engaging, as we are only taking the concealed carry part now which we assumed would consist mainly of laws. Anthony was so very informative in every way, and made it fun, which always helps retain what you've learned. We learned more than i could have imagined from medical knowledge, knowing your rights, fun safety, and many real life scenarios and situations with the correct reactions presented to us. Set up the whiskey bottles and the fence posts, really! They drew a line in the dirt and as for the towers there are none! I could barely hear there is no megaphone! Guess they want you to have updated equipment for an out of date range! I guess I'm spoiled! I shoot at a modern day range but you got to start somewhere! I would not recommend this range it's dangerous! This is what got Brandon Lee killed! You run up to the target! And shout I'll kill you! Really! It just paper but what if it shoots back. I thought guns were a defensive weapon not an offensive aggression! This guy knows nothing about safety, he takes shooting first above safety you got it all backwards! Went in looking for a part for my rifle, customer service guy at the desk was very helpful and nice. Then the manager came out, asked me what was going on, and hassled his employee regarding what they were going to do with me and my rifle. Afterwards i just sat there as the employee took apart my rifle, even though i knew what i needed, and how to install it, and he went to the back looking for my part. After some time he told me they didn't have it. Put my rifle back in the case without reassembling it, and then charged me $5 for "shop time" I wasn't told of the charge beforehand. Employee was helpful and communicated to me what he was doing, it seemed almost he wanted to install the part for me for free, but his management wouldn't let him. I spent my 2 dollars on my part elsewhere. read more

I took the basic CC with tactical pistol class...giving 2 stars only because there was some good content in the classroom portion, but due to sexual harassment & unwanted advances from the instructor that intensified as the day went on, it was overall a terrible, disempowering experience for me. These classes may be fine for men, but I cannot recommend this class to other women. When I walked into the class, the instructor insisted that I sit in the very front. The instructor was very focused on me, singling me out for examples through the entire class more often than other students; through pointed questions throughout the morning he was also able to determine that I was a single woman living alone. There was lots of hands-on touching during the practical portion where he was pointing out other defense tactics, but why wasn't he touching the male students? I also was not a fan of the way he interacted with another woman in the class...she was seasoned & spent years in law enforcement. When we went up to put on our rental gear, he brusquely accused her of not being aware of her surroundings and stated that she needed to pay attention. Seriously? Why would you go out of your way to put someone with this level of experience "in their place". This was not long after she shared some sensitive information with the class. I watched her countenance fall for the rest of the class - she went from laughing and engaged, to completely shut down after this demeaning & controlling behavior. When it was time to go to the range for tactical shooting, the instructor insisted that everyone carpool, and asked me to ride with him. Why did I listen?I didn't want to, but I did. Why? Ladies, the authority instinct within us is so strong that it takes a huge amount of conscious effort to say no. This is exactly what people in positions of authority count on. This is exactly why we take concealed carry class. As soon as we were in the car, the instructor started asking personal questions, and talking about marriage and what he thought the purpose of marriage was. He starts asking things, like whether career was more important than family to me, and making all sorts of completely inappropriate assumptions about why I was single at my age. This dude did not know a thing about me. He asked me to go to his church with him. This instructor and complete stranger was acting like we were on a 5th date. Completely unprofessional and wildly inappropriate, sexually harassing behavior. We got to the range and he continued to treat me as a girlfriend, touching me on the back, asking if I was cold and other sorts of things. Because basic CC & Tactical classes are each billed as 4-hour classes on the sign-up section of the website, I was not prepared to be on the range after dark and in the cold of November. My feet became so numb I was concerned about frostbite so I ended up sitting in his car and unable to participate in 2/3 of the shooting drills. I shot maybe 30 rounds though I had paid for 250, and I have doubts that anyone actually shot the 250 that is advertised because the instructor does so much talking and showing off, so I did not get my money's worth since i rented the gun and ammo. Because we were there for so long and I couldn't leave, I had to use the bathroom behind some farm equipment, because there are no facilities on the range. We got back to the classroom at about 6 pm; mind you, the full class started at 7:30 am and was billed as an 8-hour class with basic & tactical. Several times through the day, he mentioned that when people complain that it is taking up their time they should see it as value. He also said we should be grateful we got practice in the dark and cold when others don't get that experience. Guess what? People have lives, they have to plan - when you say it is an 8 hour class, you have to respect our time by sticking to it. If you want it to be an 11-hour class, fine, advertise that on the sign-up section and tell everyone to be prepared. When we got back at 6 we STILL were not done, no, we had to circle the wagons and pass around the talking stick and say what we learned. If that weren't enough, he gave an inspirational talk afterward and did the old single-someone-out-in-a-group guilt trip, by saying "sometimes you have to believe in yourself and go for things, you might ask the girl out and she'll say no, but you still have to ask". (WTF?? ) After his talk, he left us in the room to write some inspirational bs to go on a poster to hang up that he said he would not even read until after he retired, but was for other students to read before we could get our certs signed. When I got home, I sat & cried. I took the class to empower myself, but I walked away feeling victimized, and upset at myself for not catching it sooner. These were all the behaviors of a narcissist. Controlling others, self-aggrandizing, manipulating & guilting. I want my $ back for the tactical part of class. Ladies, steer clear! read more

Sign on the door reads "no masks allowed I'm a registered nurse and they don't work" which is pretty bada-- . I'm in the store chatting with the RN from the sign and tell him that I've heard two masks are 90%. Now I'm not political, and was listening when he explained how they're not and to try some smoke test to find out for myself. Also mentions that the vaccine changes you and your posterities DNA. I say ok, tell them they're awesome and that liberals and conservatives suck, fist bump them, and I'm on my way. 15 minutes pass and I go back in to tell him that I tried the smoke test and that no smoke came out, hoping to continue our conversation since he know more than me as an RN. Before I can even say a word to this man I am instantly met with hostility, threatening to call the cops, YELLING, and getting called a liberal while he VERY aggressively approached me even though I was already making my way out the door. It was hilarious seeing a grown man act like this!!!! buddy if you're reading this take some night classes so you can read peer review studies with a better brain. 84% Cough particles are blocked with double mask worn properly. Intravenous mRNA DOES NOT change you or your children's DNA. I am not at all a liberal but when research is supported with decades of microbiology and reviewed by not only independent and establishment scientists, but everyone on the internet , and I still don't see anyone making a valid point against the cough particles and mRNA facts I just stated, I'm going to agree with the more reasonable science. Buyer beware!!! The prices are wildly inflated here. I am embarrassed to say that I was stupid enough to make a purchase here. I may sound like a jerk saying this, but I have a lot more money than I do time. I didn't do my research before shopping, and assumed that I would be treated fairly in this seemingly reputable shop (4 star rating). I wish I had actually read the reviews not just looked at the stars. My mistake. I purchased a red-dot sight and a magnifier for a total of $1525 - which reflected the "sale" prices and a "discount" for buying both. The items were given to me out of box, with no package, no manual, etc. This was pointed out after the transaction was completed. I realized when I got home that I had been given the wrong mounting screws - went online to order some and discovered that the items I bought are widely available online for a total of $1180. I was ripped off to the tune of $345. Again, I am guilty of not doing my research and being a complete sucker. I feel stupid, but it's remarkable to me that the owner took advantage of me to that degree. This will be my first and last trip to this store. It's a short-sighted business decision - because I spend quite a bit of money on guns, and none of that will ever be spent in this store again. If you are going to visit this store, where they do have some very cool stuff, I would strongly advise that you do what I neglected to do and do your research on prices ahead of time!! read more

Anthony was our instructor and did a good job reviewing what was needed, although he likes to hear himself talk. He tries to bring a lot of his prior medical trauma training to the class which adds some relevance. I have had other CCW training and this was by far the most comprehensive, especially if you include the Tactical Shooting portion. The close contact and multiple target drills were very applicable to CCW. I agree with some other posts that Rental Guns include a mandatory purchase of 200 ($0.50 bulk) rounds at $1 each but you only shoot about 75 of those in the class. ( I used my own gun and ammo but rented for my wife, and we all shot exactly the same). So the reality is $260 for the gun rental and about $40 worth of ammo. If you rent a gun for the shooting portion, be sure they hand you the BOXES of ammo first or count out your 200 rounds from the bag before you start and take home what you don't use. He actually tried to tell us we were getting MORE rounds than we paid for. I guess shooting is his expertise and not Basic Math. The shooting range is pretty lame, just a berm of dirt out on some farmland east of Greeley, but it gets the job done. For the price, I would expect some cold water (cheap), a popup tent, and a table for shade and loading rounds. You can also expect to be asked to unload and load targets. Fine, but not for the price you pay for the class. read more

I called ahead and stated that I was having trouble replacing the barrel on my AR-10. The gunsmith said it shouldn't be a problem and quoted a reasonable price. I asked about turn around time for the job and was told that it was first come first serve and that there were a few jobs ahead of mine. I asked if it could done in a day or two and was told yes so brought the upper receiver assembly and new barrel in for replacement that morning at 11am. When I arrived, I explained that I had put the upper receiver in a vice block but could not loosen the barrel nut without applying excessive force (over 80 ft/lbs) and potentially damaging either the receiver lugs or face. The gunsmith said it shouldn't be a problem, accepted the job and that he would give me a call when finished. I called back at 3:30pm the next day to check on the status and was told that my rifle was next in line. I asked if he would get to it by the end of that day or the next and was told yes. I had heard nothing by 6:00pm the next day and went back to the store. The gunsmith said he had been trying to work on but had been busy with customers. I saw my upper receiver in a vice block (just like the one I have) and the gunsmith said he had gone up to 120 ft/lbs but the barrel nut wouldn't budge so he was getting ready to "take a torch to it." In other words, he had wasted what time he did work on my rifle repeating what I had already explained that I had done and then, against my concerns, greatly exceeded that by applying 40 more ft/lbs of force with upper receiver only secured by the lugs! At that point I elected to take my upper receiver assembly back and was charged $32 for labor. I asked why he used a upper receiver vice block instead of a barrel extension vice tool and was told he couldn't find one for the .308. Incidentally, I could have ordered a BROWNELLS - 308 AR BARREL EXTENSION TORQUE TOOL for $46 and saved myself two oblonged upper receiver lugs. Lesson learned: don't use Colorado Shooting Sports at 2435 8th Ave, Greeley, CO 80631for gunsmithing services. read more

We signed up for a class and opted for the "rental" since we didn't have all of the required equipment. The rental was $40.00 plus $85 for ammo (class requires to have 200 rounds). We only shot 30-40 rounds total during the range part of class, however the remaining rounds were not given to us. They charged us for 200 rounds and kept 160-170 rounds. The remaining rounds should have been given to us to take home, we DID pay for them. They were also offering a groupon deal, but did not mention it when we signed up. When asked about it, Larry stated it was a "groupon thing" , they don't offer it, groupon does. We learned a lot in the class, however the loss of the extra ammo and not offering deals available will ensure we don't recommend this class to anyone and warn anyone we do know about the ammo. read more

They killed the sale I took my business else ware. I then went in looking for 10 ga ammo they told me they can order some boxes then the guy said it would only be worth it to them if they ordered me a case of 1000 he then proceeded to say but guys like you just looking to buy a couple of boxes is not worth it for us... I was totally up for buying the case of ammo until he said that. He literally did not give me the opportunity to say yes to the case of ammo. They tried to sell me a pos rifle for waaaay too much because I acted like I didn't know what I was talking about. The prices are absolutely insane. Way even above msrp. They treated me with such disrespect thinking I wasn't knowledgeable. Thought I'd be doing myself a favor by skipping the lines at a big name store so I stopped by Colorado Shooting Sports. The customer service was great, however, the prices were 2-4 times what you'd find at a big name store. I'm not even exaggerating. They were charging $50 for boxes of ammo that you can find elsewhere for $13.50. I understand small businesses need higher prices to survive but this is a little extreme. Also inquired about other items and they were also at least double what other places charge. I can't speak about their classes here because I didn't take one, but if you are looking to buy products save yourself time and probably hundreds and go somewhere else. There are plenty of small gun stores within 15 minutes of this place that blow it out of the water. read more
