Each turn I felt like a creepy person was going to emerge from the shrubbery. The one paved trail on the outside before your walk pass the bridge that runs along the river feels safer. Many people walk there. Osprey were diving into the river which kept us watching for about 15 minutes. A bald eagle swooped along the area. If you ignore the sewage plant it's ok to walk for about 30 minutes then you want to get out of there. I might go back but I'm sure parking will be a hassle because the parking lot is like 0.1 miles from the bridge. If you drive pass the parking lot which holds 10 cars or so then you need to reverse back or U-turn carefully back the parking lot. If you don't like to reverse drive then be very aware of the parking lot. ENJOY!

I read an article saying that a Discover Pass was now required for a parking lot near here, but I was not able to find this parking lot. The parking lot I did use appeared to be free and was a teeny bit of a walk down a paved road with no sidewalks to the park. This nature area seems a bit out of place here as it is mostly hidden behind some industrial buildings, but really is a cool place to check out. The bridge appears to signify the entrance to the island. There were a few sketchy looking cars parked closest the entry, but this area seemed to imply parking was not allowed. Across the bridge there is a porta potty, but it was pretty disgusting. You can also access the park entrance by walking along the Langus river trail. We opted to make a loop to the park by walking to the bridge via the trail and then going back to the car via the road. Once on the island you have the option to go left or right, left appears to be towards a hunting area. There were no hunters when we visited and it was still a nice area to check out, but the actual walking area is a loop to the right. This area has some nice bridges to cross and pretty views. You can see an old closed off boardwalk that shows a little of what the area was like before. We saw lots of cool birds and few people, this was a great walk on a sunny day. There's some benches, we might bring a picnic next time.

After closer examination, we quickly realized that it is nothing to write home about. But to give it credit, it was very clean. No bathrooms, not drinking water, it does have a walking area that paved. It's more "pretty" grass than anything else. Really can't see the point in revisiting.

Arriving at North Cove Park after a donut from Lake Stevens Donuts the morning of Wednesday 19 July…read more2023, I found a few open spots in the parking area, which was shared with the Lake Stevens City Hall parking. Staff/employee spots were clearly marked, so I made sure to avoid parking in any of those. Exploring on foot, I traversed a grassy expanse on my way to the Lake Stevens War Memorial. Those honored in the memorial included wars temporally spanning World War I to the Vietnam War. A flag retirement box was located on the pavement near the memorial. Along a walkway to the beach area on the shoreline of Lake Stevens, I spotted a number of different wildflowers and wild berries in bloom. The water was calm and sky clear. A few people were on the dock and it was quiet. Up from the beach there were benches, a covered picnic table area with grill that abutted a restroom building with running water, and a playground. The grounds were well maintained and in good condition.

Be careful of deep troughs of water and racing truck drivers! Once you're there, though, you'll find a well-kept parking lot and grounds, with the swiftly flowing Snohomish River as the perfect view for a contemplative dog walk, a jog, lunch inside your car, meditation on a bench, or a picnic in the open-air structure that houses several tables. While we were there on a Tuesday afternoon there were only two or three other cars there. We didn't stay long but it was nice to have lunch here and take a short walk afterward. Even the bathroom was well maintained. Views of the wilds of Ferry Baker Island and the ever changing water of the river make this a special place not too far from home. Bonus: the animal shelter is right down the street. You can adopt or donate after you enjoy the views!

The park has now removed all doggy bags that used to be here. There is now only one trash can…read morelocated by the bathrooms to deposit your dogs poop bags. Make sure to bring your own. Cemented pathways have been updated but be aware of the past leading to the docks as the tree's roots are lifting the pathway. This is an update as of April 12th 2023.

These are some nice trails to roll your mountain bike on. I hopped onto the singletrack trail and…read moredang: It was a doozie within seconds. The skinny trail almost immediately points upward. In fact, there were quite a few times, where I just had to pull my feet out of the pedals & walk a little. Overall, I probably had to walk about 10 times going uphill. But---once you turn around. The roller coaster is on! I'm a bit of a fraidy cat, but I barreled down the trail pretty fast. I'm not a veteran of singletrack, so I had to really look out for roots, big rocks, holes, etc.---cuz I didn't want to eat it. So it took about 20min up this trail and about 5min down. It was a workout and hella fun downhill. There are a few ladder bridges and other types of bridges on the single track trail. If you want some serious dirt, give these trails a try. I also took the road/bigger trail which is at the very bottom of the gulch/valley. This is more of a road, and it's fairly straight and it goes up from the trailhead (paralleling the train tracks). So, there is talk of selling off this land for development. That would be a total shame Check out the website for this area and get the lowdown on this trail system's future. Hopefully Mukilteo will by this area and keep it as a cool place to hike and ride.

There are several side trails that will give a walker options to vary your routine. A bench at the pond offers a very nice spot to watch for birds and admire the view, or to read your book while soaking up nature. The trails can be narrow with growth of different plants and trees. It would be nice to see some clearing so that we can see the pond better. Without all being said it's a bit of a magical place because of all the native trees and plants abounding. If it was better kept up I would give it a five-star review.

It is a hilly little green space to walk down to the Snohomish River Front Trail. This "park" is even smaller than Cady Landing/Park, at the other end of the trail. Use it as a marker to find an entry point to the trail. Other than that, this is NOT a park.
