The space is large and has some games and couches in addition to the axe throwing alleys. The owner did a nice job of explaining the rules, safety precautions, and technique for throwing the axes. For most it was a new experience and they caught on quickly, others eventually figured it out and some of us were just hopeless (despite this being my 2nd time axe throwing). Nonetheless we all had a good time competing with lots of laughs. And no-one got hurt! They had a wide selection of beer and drinks and some food available. The patio was clean and has a view of the St. Croix River. (and the parking lot) Our server Gianna and as excellent. She appeared to be running the patio by herself and she was quick and never let us waiting for anything. I ordered the half spring salad with medium steak. It was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The steak was tender as well. Quite delicious for a basically plain salad. My husband ordered the Cobb salad which came with a sliced full chicken breast. He said it was very tender, seasoned and cooked perfectly as well. I didn't step inside so cannot comment on the interior. We had a great experience at Charlie's. So why the three stars? The 3% credit card fee! Why does most MN restaurants charge their customers a credit card fee?! As a small business owner, I would and count not pass the CC fee on to my customers. I would loose my customer base. This is just wrong. The credit card fee is just part of doing business. Sorry.
