Recently my husband I found ourselves at American Mattress after visiting several mattress stores up and down Randall Road. We half-heartedly walked into the store thinking we would be going down the road to make our purchase, but thought we should check one more store. Wow are we glad we did. Upon walking into the store, Greg introduced himself, told us a little about himself and the company and listened to what we were looking for. I proceeded to try out the different mattresses and my husband continued talking and bantering with Greg. Greg held his own with my husband. I found the mattress I thought would be perfect, a queen size iSeries hybrid sleep system by Serta. It felt terrific! My husband tried it out and then we tried the Serta Motion Custom Adjustable Foundation as well. It felt great....but we needed to do a comparison and still went down the road to again try the one I had previous thought would be my mattress. I tried it out and knew we had to go back and see Greg. We were back in less than 10 minutes trying out the bed again and made the deal. The mattress was scheduled to be delivered the next day between 3 and 6pm. We received a call from Dino the delivery man before 3 the next afternoon and along with Uril his partner, the bed was set and ready to go before we knew it. Of course, you worry about a break in period and there was one, one night. We have been sleeping on this new deluxe, comfy mattress with motion for just about two weeks now, and we wake up feeling good each morning. Greg was a delight to work with, no high pressure sales guy promising you the moon. Mattress shopping is not one of my favorite things to do, but Greg made the entire process a whole lot less of a hassle than I have experienced in the past. Zero pressure to spend more than I was hoping to, and I never got that feeling that I was being "sold" anything. Greg listened closely to our needs, and then directed me to choices that would address them. Instead of bombarding me with a canned sales-pitch, he explained what was offered in a particular mattress, which I tried, and then showed me an alternative so that I could compare. As I gave him feedback, he used that information to offer another alternative. That made the entire shopping experience pleasant rather than frustrating. Buying a mattress is an investment, and choosing the best fit for one's needs is vitally important. It makes the difference between waking rested and ready for the day, or groaning in pain from stiffness and soreness. Greg made every effort to offer his best guidance. Pricing was fair, and he went the extra mile to arrange delivery and set-up that worked with my schedule. I am hoping that we are as pleased with the product as we were with the shopping experience, and I believe we will be. Late evening mattress shopping... sounds like a date for my husband and I who have four kids and rare occasions alone. We do our best to have fun when navigating the day to day tasks of grown-up life. Our best shopping experiences are had when dealing with businesses that have fun along with us. We spent a couple of hours with Greg at American Mattress and had a great time. He listened carefully when we explained what we wanted in a mattress and patiently allowed us to explore the store testing out the different styles over and over and over again; never making us feel rushed. We fully intended to "shop around" before making a purchase but had such a pleasant experience and felt we had been offered such an honest deal that we purchased on the spot. The showroom is well kept and not cluttered. Very good selection of mattresses to try. Talked to Rick while we were there and was not pushy in any way, as we really were just looking. Worked with my wife and I to select the best mattress for our sleep needs. We went to a competitor up the road, but ended up returning within an hour to buy from this location (liked their selection, the American Mattress locally-owned story and that they were not a giant, foreign-owned company like their big competitor you see on almost every corner and stripmall). Rick was very fair with us on the price for mattress, cover and pillows we bought. Delivery was quick and Rick worked to try and fit it in my busy travel schedule. His overriding concern for our ultimate comfort and convenience was a real pleasure to experience, and from our perspective, a unique occurrence in todays retail environment. Prior to going to American Mattress I have done a lot of shopping to find the right mattress for my comfort level and more importantly my budget. When going to American mattress I knew what I wanted and had a pretty strict budget. Greg, was super friendly and he took his time to find me the mattress I needed. The day had arrived that I was dreading, yes i'm talking about mattress shopping. Probably one of the least enjoyable experiences ever.My wife and I, along with two of our kids, walked into the American Mattress in Geneva and met Don the mattress salesman. Don is a very friendly and helpful salesman that took the time to help us narrow down our choices, There was no pressure involved, in fact it was a fairly pleasant experience, considering that it was mattress shopping. In the end we got a great deal on two great beds, we also got one for our daughter. I was in quite a pinch, and I needed a complete bed set sent to Chicago the next day.Not only was he able to facilitate my request, but he helped me find everything I needed in less than fifteen minutes. I have a fairly hectic schedule, and having to find, purchase and move a bed to my new place downtown could have been a real pain. They delivered it the next day in the specified time frame, making it a completely painless experience. We were on the hunt for a new bed for my son and had been to a few other places. We stopped into American Mattress and Greg (the sales manager) greeted us and was very helpful! He was very attentive and very knowledgeable! He didn't try to "oversell" us a mattress for our 2 year old, which is what a few other places tried to do! He sold us a twin size memory foam mattress and then called us because he realized it was actually out of stock. So he gave us the full size for just $50 more! Our Mattress was 25 years old when we decided to go to American Mattress. Things have changed a great deal in 25 years. It was on a Sunday Afternoon. The store had good traffic. We met Gregg who took his time to tell us about what to look for in a new mattress. He was able to take care of all his customers in a very professional and friendly manner. I did a little research online. How much about a mattress can you research while online? I had to go and check out the two mattresses that I was interested in. I went in on a Wednesday and spoke with Greg. He showed me both mattresses. He also made sure that I looked at both the firm and the plush juuuuuust to make sure I knew what I wanted. Greg was extremely knowledgeable and very patient and professional. I decided on the Hazelwood Plush. My mattress was delivered the following Tuesday. I found a mattress I loved while staying in a hotel. I called and spoke to the Sales Manager, Greg, who called his Serta rep and found the same mattress in a model available to the general public.
