My wife and I went through the whole process of filling out all the paperwork to apply for a 2nd Mortgage Loan to see if we can get a better rate than the firm that did our 1st mortgage here for our primary home in Chicago. After we did all the paperwork (which is quite lengthy since it includes copies of this and scans of that), we heard crickets from Jennifer and her team. What we did hear from her were causal texts to my wife saying how she busy she was doing interviews for her local TV program, etc. etc. Then we find out one of her team members contact the other firm to inquire about the interest rate they offered us. We ended up going with our original lender since they sharpened their pencil and came up with a clever way to lower our interest rate with a higher downpayment option. I'm writing this review today since I got an email from her asking for my vote for "The Best of Tampa Bay" in the Mortgage category. Heck no. I've shared my experiences with a few people already to stay away.

When we started the lending process with Jennifer, the numbers were hard to read and when we asked her about it, she read it incorrectly to us and when I came back and asked her about it, she corrected herself. It's hard to think that a VP of mortgage cannot read her own numbers. It made the process difficult for us as first time homeowners because we were unsure of what the numbers really were. Her emails were snarky and she is not someone that I could recommend to any friends or family because of her bad attitude. We finally went to Quicken Loans (now Rocket Mortgage) for our lending and that was a much smoother process and more enjoyable experience for us.

You do not directly deal with Jordan at all. I was called by several different people and then placed on hold to transfer to other people. Bad feeling! Jordan never answered my text messages, and I was left dealing with some weird people. James called me tonight and said he had good news and bad news. Good news- my credit score was great. Bad news- there is a fraud alert on my credit reports. Yeah, no kidding James! My ex opened lines of credit in my name in the past, so I now have a fraud alert to protect me. This guy James, who sounds creepy, asked me to call the credit Bureaus and get them to allow Jordan and his people to gain access to my report. My friend Katrina is a realtor, and she said that was odd and so did my Attorney tonight. When a vendor or company gains permission to look into someone's credit and there is a fraud alert, they are supposed to provide the phone # for that fraud alert. This allows the credit agency to determine and verify my identity. it's called protecting my credit! I already had a long conversation about this previously, but they ignored my message. This clown asked me to skip all that for him! Sorry guys, but this is a mess and I chose to look elsewhere for help on a new home. Never again and be careful! This place was not professional; they seemed pushy and did not garner a good feeling here. I manage a large business, and I am a best-selling author on Amazon, so I plan to spread the word!

When she got back she went to the bank and picked up the check to send to Toyota Financial. Then she saw her due date is in 10 days. She called NFCU and the man said he would extend the date out one month. A few days later her due date on the loan never changed and when she called back she got nothing short of absolutely total rudeness and they said you signed the contract, and if you dont like it then you can withdraw the loan and go through the application process again just to have the due date one month from today. I did my loan through PenFed. Much better service. I asked to have my first payment pushed out a week because my car was being delivered to me and they extended it an additional 4 weeks in less than a minute. The choice is clear who im doing business with from now on, Yes to PenFed, heck no to NFCU.

I needed a cashiers check generated and after I was told to swipe my debit card he didn't say anything. After a good amount of time passed I asked him if he was waiting on something from me. His response was that he was waiting for me to count the money I was depositing. At that point I felt like I had to take charge of the transaction and lead him. I handed him the cash, asked if he still needed my license or could I put it away. ‍ Additionally every time I visit this branch there is a stench in/outside that smells like a sewer. Lastly, when I went to my car I realized I was parked next to a vehicle in which two young children were climbing in/out of an SUV while the adults they were with were preoccupied at the ATM. Initially I thought the adults weren't aware of what the kids were doing however that theory was quickly debunked. The kids were running back/forth between the SUV and the ATM. So to avoid possibly accident hitting the kids with my vehicle I ended up waiting until they left before I could leave also.
