Rolled in last minute looking for a lefty. Everything was out of price range for that kinda shopping . Found a decent fender strat that has been just tossed around and never played. She fit right and made some noise with her before I left with good deal. Went home and painted her up. Went restringing left and things just didn't seem right. Like something was gunna break. I took it back looked it over and they made things right, no questions asked and no charge! Pleasant and willing ti work with you. No big egos! These guys know how to treat their customers. This place used to be my favorite place to go and buy instruments stuff I bought a couple of instruments from them let me every time I have gone back. The customer service is very poorly employees seem mad all the time. Not a good experience at all. It was on the top of my list to buy supplies and it's the last place I'll check out!! Yes i did respond that everything was ok because i was trying to spare your business. Lets not make it worse and encourage me to let you know the full extent on how i really feel. If you already knew about this and offered to install it for free. Why didn't you take care of it right away when it was reported a day ago. You couldve called me and made it right if you were offering to install it yourself. When i first brought it in your staff told me that it shouldnt take more than a week to do so. 1.5 months later. Nothing was done. If its not going to be done in the estimated time. Then communicate that. But dont tell me its going to be roughly 1 week and then go silent until i had to call a month later. The response you gave me was like a half ownership. Do not try to salvage something that had already happened. It did. You got an unsatisfied customer. Im sure i wont be the last. Everybody makes mistakes. But the biggest one is to not leave it alone and try to salvage it. Why can't people just own up to it,learn, and move on instead of trying to get a response back. I stand by it. If a customer comes in for a similar reason maybe they will have better luck. Smh read more

Amazing staff and affordable prices! I purchased my daughter's clarinet here after searching multiple music stores in Fresno. Staff was very knowledgable and helpful. They worked with our budget making the purchase possible and even gave my daugher a mini beginner lesson on how to assemble the clarinet and proper technique on holding. Called to ask if they sold parts for my amplifier. I saw this business from the street on my way to an appointment . Man answered was curt . After knowing he didn't have the parts I needed, I was going to ask if they did repairs, he rudely told me he was busy, had customers walking out on him to end the call (the parking lot was empty). If they treat your equipment the way they treat potential customers, take your business elsewhere. read more

Brought in my electric guitar for repair. The person servicing my guitar was very helpful, knowledgeable with my issue. I was able to ask questions and get well thought answers. I would recommend this business to fellow musicians. While I was there I was also able to take a look at the instruments they had in stock. A great store, but it's SO hit-or-miss The good: They've done electronics work on my guitars countless times and they are always the most reasonably priced place in town. Their entire staff is super friendly. The meh: They don't have the biggest selection, which is to be expected for a small mom-and-pop shop. They also take a REALLY long time to do work on your instruments. I have to leave it there for two or three weeks on average, even to have small jobs done. The bad: Communication here is pretty horrible. I have many instances of this. One time, I called about buying an amp and was told by one guy that they could give me a discount. When I got there 15 minutes later, the guy was gone, and I had to wait around while they tracked him down to verify the discount. Another time, I called asking about getting some work done on an instrument. They told me to call back tomorrow when their tech is in. I called back the next day, they told me their tech wouldn't be in for 5 more days. I called 5 days later, they said he wouldn't be in until noon. I called back at around 2 that day and they told me that the tech wouldn't be in for another few days. I gave up after that. Another time, I brought my acoustic guitar in to get a setup. I wanted them to lower the nut slots to make it easier to play. They charged me for a setup and basically did nothing; they clearly didn't adjust the nut slots and the guitar was no easier to play than before. I wish I could give them a perfect score, but there is just so much room for improvement. read more

As inflexible as it gets. I was trying to rent a cello for a funeral but because we were from out of town they could not work with us. I even tried to give them a credit card for the cost of a new cello and the manager said they just could not do it: they have a way of doing business and there is no flexibility. My daughter has been using this clarinet for the last year. We took it in to get it cleaned and to fix a cork on it. The cork wasn't in very bad shape but could still use to be replaced. We've never had a problem with our clarinet until after we paid the 120.00 and got it out of the shop. My daughter put it together to practice. As soon as she took it apart, the cork broke off into the clarinet where it is now stuck. We took the clarinet back to the shop but they can not fix it and won't return our money. They said they are not responsible for it. But, it was working PERFECTLY until we took it in. Now my daughter is not able to practice until we fork over more money and take it somewhere else. Had to buy some strings for my brother's guitar. Fellow with the long black hair hooked them up right away and restrung them - free since I bought a tuner too. Nice small shop feel to it and dudes were hanging out in between stocking just talking shop and playing on guitars. Seems like a cool spot - nice folks. read more

BEWARE!!! Worst customer service ever. Bought what was supposed to be a brand new flute from them over the internet. After paying an additional $70 to have the flute fixed properly at my local music store, I now have a pretty good "DISPLAY" model from them. They argued with me for days that this was Brand new and that it was checked out by their manager before they sent it. I saw with my own eyes that this wasn't the case and have a bill to prove it. They never offered to make this right in any way and never even offered an apology to me for such a bad experience with them. PLEASE TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!!! I may never get a penny back from my transaction but I hope to save you a few. Places like this should not be in business scamming people. read more

Don't purchase from these guys! Their customer service is appalling. I am a professional musician and travel worldwide with my work. I purchased an HK Audio 600 system from them which is supposed to work worldwide and would be suitable for me to work with in any country. It worked fine in the USA however once I traveled with it to work it did not. It wouldn't work in a different voltage setting as it is supposed to. This was confirmed by HK Audio, HK Audio distribution USA and the American Music co. Unfortunately I had to cancel (and refund) two concerts, to the disappointment of my guests. American Music co. didn't reply to my multiple messages through ebay, but miraculously did once I had raised a Paypal dispute. In this dispute, they repeatedly told me it just needed an adapter (which is not true and I had said several times already) then they said the listing did not state 'worldwide' (which it did and the product is manufacturer to work this way) then when they finally acknowledged that it might be a faulty system they just told me to contact HK Audio or a local agent in the country I am in. What a big hassle and waste of time. They made no effort to find a solution themselves with HK Audio, claiming no responsibility or liability themselves. They were dismissive and unhelpful. I would expect much more for a purchase of $1200. I am still (04.12.16) in a Paypal dispute with them. They don't care about helping the customer. I wish I had read the reviews from others that say similar things before buying from these guys. Take my advice, dont! read more
