He leveled the frets, adjusted the custom nut, saddle, pins and worked on the back of the neck. It's the best it's ever sounded with a deep residence for a Martin! It never sounded like that before. Ted at TC Guitars made it playable and a joy to pick up! Next, I got my 1978 Ovation 1618 for a tuneup. This amazing 48 year old guitar sounds great and easier to play after Ted's skilled hands made it right. This guitar is a stunner for almost 50 years old and now I really enjoy it! Because of the sense of trustworthiness from Gottschalk's, I not only took one guitar for repair, but all five of my vintage and new acoustic guitars! Dan did an amazing job in a short time assessing needs and adjusting the necks/action, fixing cracked headstock, replacing broken tuning keys, restringing, and replacing a broken pick-up jack with a new part. Dan was also genuine about what damage would cost more than the value of the guitar and what repairs were worthwhile, and his fee was reasonable and affordable. I'm in Clovis frequently and needed a new tremolo cover for my guitar. I stopped by Gottschalk…read morebecause it was in close proximity to where I'm staying and more convenient to driving all the way up to Blackstone. I stopped in on Monday and they let me know that they didn't have the part I needed in stock but that their Madera store did. The worker called the Madera store while I was there and assured me it would be included in their delivery the next day at 2pm and that they would call me to let me know when it arrived. I never got a call. I called around 4pm to check and see if it had arrived. The worker let me know that the truck hadn't arrived yet but that he would call me when it did. I never got that call either. I called them again around 5pm and he let me know that the part hadn't been included in their delivery but that he would follow up and make sure it arrived with the next day's delivery around 4pm. He also said he would give me a call. You guessed it, that call never came. I followed up again and it was the same issue. Fast forward to today and I received a call around 10am that my tremolo plate was at the store and ready for pickup. I got there around 1pm only to discover that the tremolo plate was there however, there weren't any screws included for installation. Something I had specifically asked about when ordering the part. I figured, it's fine, I'll just head over to Ace Hardware and get what I need. I got the screws I needed and headed back to install it. Upon installation I discovered that the plate was warped beyond correction. As far as improvements you can make: transparency, communication and quality checking your products. I don't have time to go back to their store today and while I was there the worker let me know that I'd have to return it today or else they would have issue a check if I returned it afterwards. A check for $9... Like I said, I visit Clovis frequently and always travel with my instruments. I will no longer be frequenting Gottschalk. I'll make the drive to Blackstone for all of my equipment needs.

Said he would replace them with new ones. Took a look at the "new" tubes they replaced and the "Apex" stickers are falling off....never seen "new" tubes do that before. Where are my "broken" tubes and the receipt for the "new" tubes? Could it be the amp tech took off with my new tubes and put in used tubes? My "hi-gain" amp sounded like blues combo amp after the bias. Very dissatisfied. All my volume nobs were exactly the same as I left them which suggest he didn't even test out the amp.

She fit right and made some noise with her before I left with good deal. Went home and painted her up. Went restringing left and things just didn't seem right. Like something was gunna break. I've been taking both of my children here for quite some time now and felt it was time to leave a…read morereview. My 5-year-old is enrolled in acting as well as a combined music and art class, and my 3-year-old also attends the combined music and art class. Both of my kids genuinely enjoy their lessons and have a lot of fun while learning. I've also appreciated all of the teachers we've worked with, they are fun, engaging, kind and patient! That said, I've found some of the office policies to be challenging. I've received differing information at times, and what I've been told verbally hasn't always aligned with what I signed regarding makeup classes, which has been confusing. Additionally, when the office is closed for holidays, the full monthly rate still applies even if a class is missed that month. There was also an instance when we arrived for class and no teacher was available. While an apology was offered, it was disappointing given the amount of coordination required for our family to attend, and a class credit would have been appreciated. On the other hand, when my children have been sick and unable to attend, makeup classes are not offered. I hope this is useful for others considering the program.

The place is very clean - from the private to group classrooms (even their restroom). There is a yearly registration fee along with a prepaid monthly fee. My child's tuition at the time was $160/month which equates to a once a week/30 minute guitar lesson. They do have a rescheduling policy if the student cannot make their scheduled lesson but chances are they might be assigned to another open instructor if their designated one is unavailable. Unfortunately, my child no longer attends (after 2 years) but only because she has the foundation to progress on her own. The staff here are friendly and I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to start learning an instrument.
