The nail glue exploded all over me and got on my face and in my eyes. The man was very kind and cleaned it up to the best of his ability. The nails were not the best quality but that's expected with the price. This most recent time I went, I got a basic gel pedicure. The lady didn't ask me how I wanted my nails cut, she filed my nails with the drill and cut my skin. My cuticles were also flooded. The price is very low which is why I thought I should try it out. My partner made an appointment for us to get pedicures and they were ready for us as soon as we walked in. They did a great job taking care of our feet and were playful and kind, offering to paint my partner's nails too, he politely declined. I also got a manicure with acrylics and they did an excellent job with nail shape and color. Based on the photos online, I was hoping I could request some designs on my nails but was told they could only do a French tip, which was included in the photo I had shown them so I did without any design. The local news was playing in the background but I think a touch of music would really add to the ambiance of the place. I would definitely be back for a pedicure. read more

I came here for a pedicure before my trip to Thailand, normally I see Kenny at professional nail but he was booked. A couple days after my pedicure I started to notice black spots on my big toe nails. It's been two months now and I still can't get rid of it on my own. I've tried all over the counter things and natural remedies. I have never had this before and am almost 40 years old. This shop does not disinfect their instruments. As a licensed cosmetologist I'm going to report this shop to the board to have them inspected. I've gone here once before and it was ok, but was not so lucky this second time. Hey everyone. I'm so sad that I feel like I have to make this post. I went to American nail, and got a pedicure because it's the closest nail salon to my house. I was about to go on vacation, and wanted to treat myself to a cute pedicure. I asked for cateye polish, with white stars and gems. I had previously gone to get a pedicure 2 weeks prior, so I had no existing ingrown nails. However, the manicurist clipped and yanked out the side of my nail. When I got home I was happy with my pedicure, but my toe was feeling sore from the pull. As the days went on, my toe got more and more swollen and painful. Four days later, I called Tina to ask if there was any compensation I could have, maybe a possible half refund, being that I paid $65 for service. She asked me to come in to look at it. Once looked at, the pedicurist (the same one that yanked my nail) continued to clip more of the root of my nail off. While leaving, I was given a pat on the back, and $10 to get Epsom salt to soak. No refund at all, and honestly a little embarrassed to walk in and be handed only $10 out of the $65 I've spent on the pedicure (Epsom salt not included). It has now been 11 days. I went on vacation and came back, and my toe is bruised from the yank, and my skin is now peeling from the needing to soak it to release the puss from the infected nail. I hate leaving bad reviews because I don't like to cost the business their customers, but I feel like I have to for the safety and wellbeing of everyone. The shop isn't clean at all. While there, there were clipped toenails around the area that my toe was being treated. The utensil the lady clipped my toe with was pulled off a tray, used on me, and put back with other uncovered utensils to be used on someone else without proper cleaning in between. Please save your money, and don't let just anyone do your nails because the service is closer. Pick a cleaner salon that won't do this to you, and that'll have enough empathy to give you a refund if this is ever done (which it shouldn't ever be). read more

I'm frustrated and more angry with myself really because years ago I've been here as a walk-in and I had a bad experience so I'm not sure why I thought walking in today after several years It would be any different! The crazy thing is the same guy worked on me a while back. He ended up cutting my skin and making me bleed and I promised myself I will never go back to this salon. Today I was desperate specially, while my little six year old girl was with me and super excited to get her nails done with mommy I called them while driving & they said they couldn't do a walk in at the moment so after we hung up I called around and the next thing I know my phone Rang and American Nails was calling back; they told me if I can be there in the next couple of minutes they can do the mani pedi for both! I was 1 minute away. I walked & they said for us to choose colors so we did but for the most part I had my own nail polish that I wanted to use but I grabbed one of theirs just in case I change my mind. Immediately I can tell that the man was going to end up being the person to work on my nails. I didn't want to be rude and request someone else so sat on the white chairs and I was very cordial with him & quite not to piss him off. Let me start by saying that the gentleman reeked of cigarettes, I simply wanted a regular manicure pedicure; as soon as he started to work on my feet it was uncomfortable uncomfortable & awkward!! not to mention it wasn't very relaxing, and he barely touched my feet when he applied the lotion and when I proceeded to ask, why, no rubbing of the feet (little foot massage), he says , "you need to pay extra for that" oh yeah? The lady next to me didn't pay extra and she got her legs and feet rubbed! And several others.... Anyways, I ignored, didn't show any attitude, because I surely did not want him to cut me again!! When he started working on my heels. I started worrying because I can tell he was not doing it right ! I have soft heels and I try to take care of my feet as much as possible because honestly, I can't afford giving a manicure pedicure every few weeks!! I thought why not treat myself and get a pedicure like my single days but boy was I wrong! I don't know if he was having a bad day or if he's always like this, but he left my heels, so rough I couldn't believe how bad they felt after he scraped them with his yellow tool. The problem is I didn't realize it until they did my manicure, and I sat to dry them. I felt the roughness when I placed my feet in my own shoes! I was in shock you could see part of my skin still sticking out on my heels!?! I brought it to their attention at that time meanwhile he was outside, smoking. He said it's because you didn't do the extra upgrade!!!! so if I don't do an upgraded special pedicure, you're gonna leave my feet worse than when I walked in?? He finally comes from his smoke break and tells me that this is not his problem and proceeds to speak in his native language why I am calmly trying to explain to them that this is not fair!! of course, naturally they denied everything and said that I should've paid extra to get rid of the roughness. They didn't believe that my feet were not like this when I walked in!! It's important that you know that I am not a confrontational person nor am I someone that likes to leave bad reviews for people that work hard, but it was difficult for me not to write this because it was very unfair and unprofessional! My poor six year old was a little traumatized of how awkward it was on our way out. At one point I guess the manager offered to make things better by applying Vaseline on my heels. She proceeded saying "oh he didn't leave them that bad" it was by far one of the worst experiences I've had in a salon. I'm sure there are regulars that come there, but I guarantee it nobody ever likes when he works on them. If you don't like your freaking job then leave and don't take it out on your customers!? I'm skipping a lot of parts with him that made the experience horrible but I'm tired of typing. I'm not sure how these guys are still in business!! Worse $60 ever spent! read more

I am from San Diego, and trying to keep in mind that Grand Terrece is a small town area (not as high maintenance). And, not to mention I used to be a nail technician myself, so I'm very picky. But, this place was very unorganized, I had three different people work on my toes, and had to tell them to fix quite a few things on my pedicure. I also had to take the file myself to file my nails perfectly square. Not to mention, file my toes evenly when I got home. I had white gel polish and the paint job was crooked, and not to my satisfaction. It's reasonably priced, the leg mask and hot rocks were good, but I just don't feel they take pride in their work. The absolute worst experience ever in a business!!! Never open. Never get ingrown nails on feet but charge for it. Charge double for certain services than others and refused me because I brought my special needs children. Also tried charging me for service they didn't perform. I wanted to charge mani pedi but they asked for charge before mani was done after pedi so I had double fee for credit card. They are scammers. I found on my bank statement they tried charging three times and I tip a lot every two weeks. First off no one was rude but no one was welcoming or nice when I walked through the door. Second they overcharge for a lower than mediocre job. I called in before hand to ask how much an acrylic fill would cost (I did not have gel and my nails were not very long I got them done) and they said 17 dollars however when I went in they charged me 30 dollars FOR A FILL . I was very annoyed but what upset me is the crappy job the they did on my nails. They're not even, they're not smooth, I have multiple missed paint spots, and the gentleman cut them way shorter than I had asked. I read the reviews (mostly positive) which is why I decided to get a fill here but I'm so disappointed, I was definitely scammed out of 30 bucks and now I have worse nails then what I came in with. Will never be coming here again. I attached a photo of my 35 dollar acrylic nail fill (35 because 30 is what they said it would be if I didn't get gel). He missed several spots, they're uneven, and the nail acrylic is bumpy and rigid. I asked for a coffin shape! This is not what I asked for. They're are also way shorter than what I asked for but by the time I saw them it was too late. Will never come here again. read more

I had a wonderful first time experience here. I believe the young lady who did my nails was "T." This was the first time I had brought my 3 year old with me to any nail salon. Sometimes mamas gotta bring their kids! My daughter was entertainer with the phone for a bit but after awhile she started to get anxious. Staff was nice and welcoming. However the quality of service was poor. I received a dip manicure and you can still see my nail through the dip. The nail tech used a dirty brush to brush off excess dip powder and you can see other colors from the brush being dirty. My nails are uneven and gritty. I don't believe the process was done correctly because I've been getting dip nails for over a year and never received this quality after. My gel pedicure is very uneven and messy. Very unfortunate because I wanted to like this place. Won't be returning. Was charged more than I was supposed to be and luckily I called because they did not have a phone number for me.
