8.15.17 I recently went to Helen and I wish I'd taken a picture of my nails. First she was clearly in a big rush...she was sloppy and could care less about errors. This made me really mad but I figured she'd fix her mistakes and would probably be too embarrassed to leave my nails the way she left them, she has no pride obviously in her work. I can't express how disappointed I am and how unimportant she made me feel almost as though I was interrupting her plans...the sloppiness factor was just way too high. I won't ever come back to this salon what a crappy job she did. I'm actually embarrassed for her and feel somewhat bad for having to write this review about her but people need to know what to expect. Maybe she was having an off day but I don't care...if you take a client you vow to give that client your best and have them walking away feeling wonderful not feeling like they just wasted money on someone who doesn't care about her customers. read more

Worst pedicure I have ever received. They get you in and out and rip you off. I could have done exactly what they did on my own at home. I did not feel relaxed. They painted my nails before massaging my feet. My nail polish looks like a toddler did them. I will not be back. read more

I have been coming to American Nails now for about 2 years, I always schedule my appointments with Richard, and always leave satisfied with my nails. My acrylic last over a month before I have to get a rebase, and have never broken a nail. If your looking for someone that is a perfectionist nail tech, I recommend Richard. read more

Unfortunately this salon does not value their appointments. I value my time and do not support companies that don't do the same. They were ready for me after waiting 20 minutes after my appt which was right when they opened! My friend was getting a pedicure and was 5 minutes from being done when they were ready for me. I've been coming here for years and have always had a positive experience. I drive over 20 minutes and pass 4 other salons on my way just to go here. They are always able to get me in on short notice. The pedicure chairs are comfy with the massage features always working. The only reason I gave four stars is because the prices on the wall do not match what they actually charge you. For example of deluxe pedicure is listed at $35 on the wall, but in reality they are $40. read more

The nail salon offers a variety of services and frequently has availability. The nail technicians are nice and work quickly to get services completed. That being said, this was THE dirtiest salon I have ever been to. Once in my pedi chair I noticed pieces of skin in a crack on the chair next to me and the towels made you wonder when their last wash was. The instruments do not appear to be washed each use and I had difficulty communicating with my technician due to a language barrier. To be fair, she did try very hard and utilized her coworkers to assist in communication. The salon is extremely crowded with chairs and stations and is difficult to navigate. My toe nails looked pretty good, but my finger nails looked like the person was in training and she cut them unevenly. To try to get polish that went on my skin she used her nail (normally not a biggie) and under her nails was caked with dirt. The prices do not reflect the quality and I won't be returning. I went in for a pedi after work was so tired so realy just wanted to relax and not talk much, I asked for Cathy. So she started filing immediately and then she used the cuticle nipper on my toe with no cuticle remover. I asked her why, she stated that it makes it hard for her to cut the cuticle but then she quickly added it. Out of all my 45 years of age and at least 20 damn years of getting pedis never heard that before. All the way from FL, GA, NC, to here. Then she filed and buffed my toe nails and polished them. She never massaged my feet or legs. She added lotion and stones after my toes were polished and just to my legs. Now I just requested a regular pedi and usually the towels and stones are included at least the lotion and massage to my feet and legs before the polish. Any who I was over it a asked how much. She Cathy charged me $29 for this BS and her manager had the nerve to ask me for a tip. So because I am black and we always get a bad rap for not tipping, I just gave her $40 just to let her know that money is not an issue. But I should only be required to tip if I feel like the service was good. TIPPING IS NOT A REQUIREMENT PEOPLE. I don't get tipped for Underwriting Mortgages. However I will never go there ever again. I was not treated like a valued customer. I did not get complete service and I was over charged for this BS. My experience was awful and I have no idea as to why. I am a very clean woman and always look very nice if I may say so. This was a waste of money as the pedi is mostly about the massage and relaxing more then appearance. Ouch! I have never written a review on yelp before but I left this place and was completely unsatisfied and had to comment. I went for a gel manicure and I still had gel on from a previous manicure (at a different facility) so the standard is a foil soak to remove. The woman I work with decided to use a grinder to file off what she thought was a sufficient amount of the polish, down to my actual nail. It was so incredibly painful. I told her it hurt and she stopped but left the remaining polish on my nails and painted over them with new polish. It seemed like most of their costumers had on acrylic nails so maybe gel just isn't her norm, but man I really regretted walking into that place and paying. If I could give negative stars I would. I recently took my daughter and myself to get pedicures and she was really excited this was for her 13th birthday. Well after spending over $70 there we both ending up with infections in our toes, which made for very sore toes. We had to go to the doctor and get antibiotics to clear the infection. On top of that neither one of our polishes stayed they both chipped off in the first few days. As a licensed cosmetologist this saddens me because they are not cleaning there equipment and could very possibly spreading diseases. I will also be filing a formal complaint to the state board on the cleanliness of this nail salon. So be careful going on here you may end up in infections. read more

I have never been so satisfied. The wait was barely ten minutes. They get people in & out no problem. They are a busy salon but they have the staff to handle it and they all know what they are doing. It doesn't seem like you have to worry if you are going to get a good nail tech or not. They are all knowledgable. I showed them a design I found from Pinterest and it was no big deal. I have pink & whites. I told him I didn't want to do polish or shellac for my design. No problem. They have such a huge choice of colors in powders to choose from. My nails were done well & in a timely fashion. It was also very affordable. Best priced salon in the area. The owner is the sweetest woman. She has her 3 daughters and son (who did my nails) working there. It's really a great salon. Everyone around seemed to have a similar experience. Good service. Only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because of the sanitation. Floors are dirty, pedicure chairs are also dirty. Tools seem to be reused because they are placed back into a box after being rinsed off in dirty water after pedicure. There are no liners in the tubs. Basic pedicure with polish is 22$. They massage with coals and without and place steamed towels. Service other wise was quick and staff was kind. I don't think I'll be returning solely based off how I saw their cleaning methods. Will update on how long pedicure lasts. read more

Went for the first time with a gift certificate, the gal I had was sweet, very courteous and took her time. The second time I went completely the opposite effect. I had a older lady, she was rushed, yelling, and it was a painful experience (she was in such a hurry she scraped off my polish instead of wrapping with foil and cut my cuticles to the point where they bled.) to say the least. After that, will NEVER go back not to mention that I found someone to do my schillack for $20 as opposed to the $30 they charge here. Not a fan, I would recommend try somewhere else. I read more

Over the last couple of years this place has gone down hill! They have about 6 or so good techs. But since this place has gotten so busy, it seems like the owner wants the techs to get them in and out of there. She's a very nice lady but, if she does your nails you may come out with some extremely sloppy ones. She's doing nails, answering the phone and trying to manage everyone at one, this equals sloppy work. I also agree with a couple other reviews that they do their acrylics extremely thick there. It gets 3 stars and it's because the pedis are ok, except for the last time where the owner put my feet in scorching hot water after I told her it was hot, and because there are a few techs that are good. I have been going to Lily since I first moved to town. Lily does a fantastic job, she even worked me to quit biting my nails and let them grow. Lily knows breaking a life long habit is hard to do, and will even touch up my gel polish when it chips. OK I rarely give a bad review because I truly believe that people should make their own judgements by going and seeing for themselves. I've been going here for years off and on (summer pedicures and my acrylic nail times) they do great work most of the time. I sprung for a really crazy nail design was disappointed when they started peeling off the next day. Called Kathy (the owner) she made sure I was taken care of right away no charge. The last time I got a pedicure I came home and a couple days later noticed that I was getting an abnormal dry patch in between my toes (the dreaded athletes foot which I never have had in my life) ok got some spray it cleared up a little. Went back for a re polish on my toes and ended up sitting in the very last chair which was fine. I was in search of a trash can which I figured would be located right behind me because all the ladies bringing the paraffin wax behind be and throwing it some where. ... Needless to say I observed one of the ladies throwing the paraffin wax back into the warmer :/ no wonder my feet got athletes foot. This is so not sterile at all. After asking my cousin who religiously gets her eye brows done here if they double dip the wax sticks she said they did. OK for those of you that don't get it they do bikini waxes here. This was the second time I went to this nail salon and they were pretty busy. I waited 15 minutes first for someone to get started on my pedicure, after that was done I waited 20 minutes for someone to start my manicure. Their customer service is okay, not the best. They hardly communicate... After my pedicure nobody told me that it would take awhile before someone would get started on my manicure. This place Isn't that clean as well. I can see a lot of dust and dirt build up almost everywhere. 2 stars for the fact that I walked out of there happy with my nails. But would I come back in the future!? I don't think so! read more

Not happy at all with the full set of shellac nails that I had applied. Several chipped within 2 days. I was out of town so I couldn't have them fixed. The owner's daughter did my nails. They were uneven and the shellac was noticeably thicker on one side. I was transferred over to the owner mid-manicure. There doesn't seem to be any pride in their work. As others have said, the place is not clean. There were no hand brushes to use when cleaning your hands. I didn't see them wipe anything down while I was there. People were eating at their stations and talking on the phone while doing nails. read more

I have been coming here for about 18 months and won't go anywhere else to get my nails done - I have a regular appointment every 2 weeks. I get a shellac (gel) manicure and it usually last 2 weeks - in fact the only reason I go in every 2 weeks is because my nails grow so fast. If I do get a chip, I can go in and they will happily fix it for me - at no extra charge! I get so many compliments on my nails and have recommended this place to several people. I would give this place less than one star if I could! It was the worst nail experience and customer service experience I have ever had. For starters, I witnessed them reusing items that are meant to be one-time use, such as the paraffin wax used on pedicures. It is clearly left out in the open for anyone to see as you wash your hands at the sink. Absolutely disgusting! In addition, it was made known that at least three nail techs are unlicensed, and do not speak English to become licensed. so I wasnt going to write a review but I am so disappointed. It was my first time, and They were nice but my nail tech rushed the whole time! not once did it feel like It was relaxing because I felt her energy. She was nice to me and I really wanted to continue to go to her just because I liked the environment. But she never once wanted to start a conversation with me. There was 2 of the studios "regulars" sitting on each side of me and she was talking to them and not me. I thought that was rude. Even when I was getting my pedicure she kept turning around and talking to them. Next she rushed my pedicure so fast. She acted like I been there before and said "just basic right" all she did was take the dead skin on my feet. paint with shellac, put hot towel on my legs and rub a hot stone on the bottom of my foot for about 30 seconds and cost me $42. Its been not even two weeks and they are chipping and dont look straight like if she didnt focus on making sure the WHOLE nail was painted. Then for my Dip powder, she rushed and did them in like 15 minutes. I have little bubbles and specs in my polish. the sides of my nails are not straight and once again she didnt go over her work with pride to make sure the whole nail was covered. I paid over $80 for a trashy sloppy job. I had dip powder all over my actual fingers not the nail and I couldn't even explain how terrible they looked. not only that, but I felt really disrespected when the only thing she said to me when starting a conversation was "this nail color makes your skin color look darker" NEVER WILL I GO BACK THERE. read more

I cannot say enough things to show how PISSED off I left there. I used to go there when I was in high school because it was cheap and convenient. Stopped going there when I discovered Sky nails on Grant. HUGE MISTAKE TO EVER GO BACK. I decided to go back 11/5/2014 (due to them being cheaper & I had a specific design) to get an intricate design and was satisfied with the nail tech I ahd I had a decent enough experience to try them again. I made an appt with the same nail tech (booth #9 Tran(?) ) on 12/7/2014 for 11am. Got there at 10:50 and wasn't greeted at all. I filled my name out on the appt sheet a and sat there. 11am rolls around and one of the girls unbelievably rudely says to me,"Do you need something??". UHH DUH!!!! I bit my tongue and replied I had an appt blab blah blah. She says "OK". I sat there....and waited.... And waited.... And waited. 11:30 rolls around and I was done. I stood up, asked, "why am I still sitting here 30 minutes after my appointment was set???" No reply. Screw American "FAILS". Cheaper prices don't make up for piss poor attitudes and absolute disregard of customers. NEVER AGAIN. I don't care what the circumstances. NEVER. read more

After my awesome manicurist Tina, left the area, I bounced around trying to find a good replacement. On a whim one day I stopped at American Nails and was getting pampered when a manicurist from the past approached me. Not Tina but another lady who did my nails when I first moved to the Denver area! I paid $27 for a deluxe manicure which seemed about average and the woman was able to closely match a picture I had shown her of a nail paint job I liked on pinterest. However, the shop was very dirty and the longer I was there, the more dirt I noticed and overall uncleanliness. Unless I hear that they did a cleaning overhaul, I probably won't be going back. read more
