Yelp reviews is why I choose this pizza. Walked in ordered friendly man. 20min later I'm eating a pizza. The pizza was delicious not too greasy, not over cooked not too doughy. It's a great spot to eat. Tables inside got my plates & soda. Jalapeño pepperoni crushed red peppers. Too bad I'm driving or beer would have been even better.

If you are looking for excellent affordable pizza, then stop looking. This is the place to go. Not only is it much better and higher quality than Domino's, Pizza hut, Pizza Man Dan's and Little Ceasar's, but the prices are significantly less than all of them except Little Ceasar's. Only Toppers is better, but American Pizza is a lot less expensive. IMHO, American Pizza gives you the BBYB, (Best Bang for Your Buck). Again, it's almost as good as Topper's, better than all the thers, yet somehow cheaper than all of them except Ceasar's. Not only that, but the service was excellent, friendly and fast. We got the BBQ Chicken Pizza, and a Mushroom, Pepperoni and Pineapple pizza, and it was almost as good as Toppers, for about $25 less than they would have charged for something similar.

I ended up paying four dollars extra for them to make a pizza that was extremely thin. If you're selling a pan pizza, try to at least make it marginally thinner than your competitors. I really feel like I wasted my money not going to toppers, and I will make sure to go to toppers in the future.

The Pizza was good and very reasonable priced. I think it was 11.99 for an XL 1 topping and 2.25 for each additional topping. The owner was also very friendly and welcoming when i came in to pick it up. Admittedly that isn't always the case with restaurants in the area. Will return read more

Came here based on the great Yelp reviews. Just finished my 1st ever American Pizza. DELICIOUS! I'm not from the area and rely on nav to get me around. It failed! I called and the nice gal gave me directions. This place is tucked behind the Chevron gas station. I ordered the American.... A combo. Extra sauce. It was perfect. The right amount of sauce. Generous amount of toppings. What I really liked is the crust was stiff enough to not bend as I ate it. I passed probably 5 other pizza joints between my hotel and here. Glad I did. I found my new go to when staying in the area. read more

This is a totally independent family owned pizza spot and their pizza is AWESOME!!! We found them on Yelp because they don't advertise which is a bummer because they have super yummy food and they also happen to be about the cheapest pizza place in the county! I would recommend any of their pizzas and their subs. They obviously hand make their dough and the crust has a buttery taste to it that we enjoyed. We also tried their chicken wings which were HUGE compared to those tiny ones you get everywhere else. I honestly can't say enough sweet things about the couple who owns American Pizza because their food is great, their prices are great, and I hope they're in business for years to come. read more

What can I say? This place hand tosses their dough and if you eat it fresh it has that crunchy texture. The inside of the dough isn't dry though. I've tried their different pizzas and they don't disappoint. I've never tried their other menu items but the pizza is a quality product. I only wish they had more toppings available. read more

I am very dissatisfied with this order. We paid extra for pan pizza and ended up getting a very thin pizza. I wish we had just gone to a different pizza place in the area, of which there are many. Don't sell a pan pizza and charge extra unless you are going to actually make it thicker. read more

We ordered two pizzas for delivery. When it arrived we noticed that they sent us a pizza wrong. Tried to go outside and tell the driver but he had already left. I called and told them about it and they sent us our correct pizza order. Had it at the door in less than 30min! They were super helpful and the pizza was delicious read more

Honest hard working "Mom and Pop" place. More like "Pop and Sons". Great pizza and the deal on 2 XL two topping pizzas can't be beat. They even sell ice cream and 2 liter sodas. The specialty pizzas are awesome and I feel good buying from this place and his family. They are sandwiches and pastas too. read more

Disappointed. Ordered a medium pizza with three toppings. Very little cheese on pizza.. it didn't even seem like mozzarella. The I ordered an anti pasta salad, they put pineapple pieces in it. Why would you put pineapple. Then we ordered hot wings. Imagine regular frozen hot wings you would be at the store and then bake. Disappointed with my whole meal. read more

I grew up in Oxnard and drove by this place alot as a kid but I never tried it. It wasn't until recently after I had a kid of my own, that I decided to finally try the place. And I must say for a small mom and pop shop the pizza was pretty damn good. I ordered a pepperoni, and a cheese pizza and both were great. Neither were too greasy and they were both fairly large. Prices here are excellent as well, which is why I'm shocked that a yelper hasn't reviewed this place yet. My girlfriend and her parents loved this place as well and i'm sure that the next time they have a pizza craving we'll be ordering from here (unless we're at costco). read more

This is amazing pizza! Easily rivals that of Toppers, i started eating it when my brothers wanted to try it for their birthday so i went ahead and tried their Hawaiian and I was blown away! The bread feels just right, not thin and not fluffed up, and the toppings are perfect, they don't slide off like other pizzas do. Their large and Medium pizzas are enough to fill most people up. Feel free to stop by and order because your pizza will only take about 10 minutes. read more

Not only did it take a long time for anyone to even take our order, but they also forgot our waters. It took about 20 minutes before we received anything. We ordered drinks and two appetizers. One appetizer arrived after about 20 minutes, but our drinks didn't arrive until approximately 25 minutes after we ordered. While we waited, we observed several waiters standing around talking instead of helping customers. We also watched two other tables ask multiple times for their checks before finally receiving them. The staff didn't appear busy or overwhelmed, which made the delays even more frustrating. To make matters worse, several tables that were seated after us received their food before we did. After waiting a total of 40 minutes without receiving our second appetizer or even being offered drink refills, we had enough. We asked the busser for our check and requested to cancel the remaining appetizer because we were extremely frustrated at that point. Instead of a manager or supervisor coming to speak with us, the busser returned to tell us that we couldn't cancel the appetizer because it had already been prepared. We paid, took the meatballs to go, and left disappointed. Only then did our server come over and say, "Sorry, we got stacked up." No manager or person in charge ever came to apologize or address the situation. The person who appeared to be the manager simply dropped off our boxed food and walked away without saying a word. This was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. I've dined here multiple times before and have always enjoyed both the food and the service, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Unfortunately, I will no longer support this business and will make sure to warn my family, friends, and colleagues to save their money and support businesses that value their customers and hire competent, attentive staff.

The woman at the restaurant/bar area (bar was empty and she was standing there) told us that I guess she could take our order but to just go to order over there. No smile, unbelievably rude and just walked away. We went to the window and the young girl was on her phone. We got our food and she didn't remember our order when we went to pick it up and had to tell her all over again. We ordered hot wings that didn't come with a side of ranch. When my husband went up and asked for it, he was charged. Food was hot and good, but expensive for the lack of service, a smile and such bad attitudes.
