And the view of the pizza oven! The little burnt marks & bubbling crust reminds me of pizza in Italy and France. Sorry Italy -- but France make the best pizza! They make the best everything when it comes to food. But I regress... haha Settebello's is the closest I can get to the Italy & France pizzas! NY is different and of course the best in the US -- but for west coast pizza, Settebellos is my FAV!!! Wish there was one in Westlake Village!! Anyway -- I let all my friend know how good the pizza and the beet salad are. And the Sun-Friday (3-6pm) happy hour -- is worth the drive!!! BTW - if you see a 1-star review from people in Ojai (and there are a few) I believe those reviews are written by a "troll or trolls" trying to bring down Settebello's ratings. If I could give this restaurant 0 stars, I would. This was, without a doubt, the worst service I've ever experienced, especially considering the price point. Not only did it take a long time for anyone to even take our order, but they also forgot our waters. It took about 20 minutes before we received anything. We ordered drinks and two appetizers. One appetizer arrived after about 20 minutes, but our drinks didn't arrive until approximately 25 minutes after we ordered. While we waited, we observed several waiters standing around talking instead of helping customers. We also watched two other tables ask multiple times for their checks before finally receiving them. The staff didn't appear busy or overwhelmed, which made the delays even more frustrating. To make matters worse, several tables that were seated after us received their food before we did. After waiting a total of 40 minutes without receiving our second appetizer or even being offered drink refills, we had enough. We asked the busser for our check and requested to cancel the remaining appetizer because we were extremely frustrated at that point. Instead of a manager or supervisor coming to speak with us, the busser returned to tell us that we couldn't cancel the appetizer because it had already been prepared. We paid, took the meatballs to go, and left disappointed. Only then did our server come over and say, "Sorry, we got stacked up." No manager or person in charge ever came to apologize or address the situation. The person who appeared to be the manager simply dropped off our boxed food and walked away without saying a word. This was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. I've dined here multiple times before and have always enjoyed both the food and the service, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Unfortunately, I will no longer support this business and will make sure to warn my family, friends, and colleagues to save their money and support businesses that value their customers and hire competent, attentive staff. read more

Attentive, professional, and somehow always there right when we needed her without hovering. Started with a Cadillac margarita and yes... it was balanced, refreshing, and dangerous in the "I could have two more" way. Love that they add the Grand Marnier on the side, as they should. Food rundown because everything deserved its moment: * Diavola pizza: the crust?? perfect. Light, crisp, slightly chewy, all the things. Ingredients tasted fresh fresh. The calabrese + crushed red pepper combo had a nice kick without doing too much. * Romana salad: not your basic salad. The speck, artichokes, goat cheese, pine nuts... it's giving main character energy. * Beef carpaccio: super tender, bright from the lemon, and balanced with the arugula + parm. Clean and simple in the best way. * Arancini: crispy outside, cheesy center, sitting in that tomato sauce like they know they're the favorite. One of the better places to stop by in The Collection. Delicious assortment of wood fired pizzas. Fantastic salads to pair with it. Bartenders are quick with a decent pour. Full selection of wine and spirits. Good place for date night or to catch up with old friends. Not really set up as a sports bar, even though they do have some big screens in the bar area. This place is one of my favs in Ventura County. Great prices with good location, high quality food, and relaxed atmosphere! I really wish more restaurants tried to copy them. The food is delicious and makes me feel great and the drinks are always excellent - but they aren't pretentious. The service is always on point. Oxnard is several hours away from me, but when I have to go, this restaurant is my reward at the end of the drive. They have amazing pizza and I like the bruschetta a bunch too. I always have to get it. The restaurant is located inside the collection riverpark outdoor shopping center, by the theater. The service has always been good. I am a cook. I have eaten pizza many places around the world. There is nowhere in the United States that I know of that produces Napoli style pizza as good as Settebello. Even other places that declare, "we have pizza vera", don't compare. I have eaten many many times at different Settebello locations including: Utah; Henderson Nevada; Pasadena CA; and my favorite, Oxnard CA. In addition, their "antipasti " menu is spectacular. My favorites are the "Misto" and the fabulous bone marrow. All of their Italian meats must come from a great source because they are all spectacular. Even if they had the worst service in the world, I would still eat there. Often I just eat off the antipasto menu. By the way, my service experience there has ALWAYS been spectacular. read more

They need to check their staff. The food is awesome, the happy hour rocks, and we always want to come into there. But every single time the red headed bartender with a bun is working the service is AWFUL. I ordered and was made feel discouraged of my drink choice since gin is "better". Made a face at me and walked away rudely. Rang in our appetizer and never came back ever to check on us. I asked him if we could pay when he did pass and he acted like he didn't hear us. The bar back also ignored us. So we did the math of our small one round bill and just left cash since we sat there with empty drinks and no hope of any service. The bar only holds 15 people at most. My guest and I ordered from HH, and I ordered the Vico (Vica?) and she ordered a few other items. The pizza was delivered cold and the crust tasted rubbery (chewy?). My guest didn't care much for her app either (Bruschetta?) as it was messy and the toppings were so runny. So, it was meh. Absolutely horrible experience from start to finish. The restaurant was nearly empty, yet the service was unbelievably slow. It took over 40 minutes just to receive our calamari and drinks. We were told we'd get waters right away--they never came. It then took more than 15 minutes for the waiter to bring a single soda while staff stood around doing nothing. To make matters worse, customers who arrived after us were greeted, served, and even received their meals before we got anything. After waiting far too long, we asked to cancel our order because the service was unacceptable. They refused and still made us pay. The manager never came to our table to address the situation or apologize. Instead, they simply sent the waiter to deal with us and handed us our food in to-go boxes without saying a single word. No apology, no accountability, and no concern for customer satisfaction. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. Forget what you remember with pizza, at least American pizza. The Pizza Napoletana (Neopolitan style) from Settebello is distinct, flavorful, not heavy, and just very well made. It all starts with the all-important dough, and you can taste the hand-made craftsmanship in every bite. It's not especially thick or thin, certainly not crispy like New York nor deep like Chicago. But this wood burned pizza is just so good and chewy. You actually taste the difference in the dough, and it's part of the magic. Oh, and neither of our pizza taste greasy. The first is the Bianca (no crushed tomatoes, prosciutto crudo, aragula, shaved parmigiano, mozzarella, olio basil, and olio). If you're not a fan of tomato sauce or curious to taste a pizza sans the sauce, the Bianca is a must buy. There is a very nice balance of flavor, where you can taste each flavor without having one overpower the other. The prosciutto is soft and not oversalted, the aragula fresh and delicate, and the shaved parmigiano adds a bit of bite and interesting mix. The 2nd pizza we had is the Settebello (crushed tomatoes, pancetta, house sausage, mushrooms, toasted pine nuts, mozzarella, basil, olio). This pizza especially highlight how well the pizza bread compliments the ingredients on it. The sausage is savory, the mushroom is delicious and unique with some umami, and the pine nuts adds an interesting texture (although I can definitely use more of them). While waiting for your pizza, you csn enjoy the nice ambience that feels cozy but classy. Although the music is very upbeat American and feels somewhat out of place for an Neopolitan pizzeria that revels in its traditional flavors. But wow, are the pizza so darn good. Brava! read more

Great food, but gouging customers! I like fresh basil on my pizzas. Settebello is extremely chintzy with their basil eventhough it is not a high ticket item. I ordered the Settebello pizza with extra basil and no pine nuts (which actullay cost more than basil) and was shocked to be charged an extra $1 for a few extra leaves of fresh basil!!! Really??? I certainly didn't get a $1 discount for leaving off the pine nuts though! It's really a bit pathetic! read more

The food was really good here! I am so happy to have tried Settebello's out. We had friends in town who needed a dog friendly restaurant and they found this one. We were a group 4 adults, one toddler and one dog. We were able to walk up and get seated right away. We were seated out on the patio. When walking through the restuarant I was so happy we were sitting outside because indoors it was extremely loud. We ordered the Misto for the table to share. It was okay, I was expecting more veggies. It is definitely a good size for two people to share. My husband and I split the Diavola pizza which was so tasty. I loved the crust, the toppings, I loved it all. We also ordered the Warmed Beets and the Beet Salad which I didn't get a picture of because we dug right in. Let me assure you, both dishes were awesome. The Warmed Beets were outstanding. Our waiter was so pleasant and really on top of taking care of our table. They were able to provide my friend's dog with a water bowl and her child with a kid's menu and crayons. Parking was easy for us because we luckily found a spot super quickly but the parking lot was really packed. Very friendly staff and bartenders, a nice setting - both inside and on the patio, and the prices on the happy hour menu are very reasonable. The location at the Collection has ample, convenient and free parking behind the container store and forever 21. There is paid parking closer to the restaurant within the Collection streets. The inside of the restaurant is spacious and cozy. The open bar style and booths give a roomy yet friendly casual vibe. It's clean and calm. Service very friendly and fast. Food came put hot and fast. The menu is simple. Just about 5 or 6 choices of woodfire oven pizzas, 5 salads, pastas, sandwiches. We ordered the carbonara pizza, Margherita pizza and beet salad. The salad was particularly fresh and delicious. The pizza is great! The crust is perfectly chewy and crispy. The sauce is homemade and amazing. The carbonara was smokey and delicious. Happy hour menu is good value for the pizzas only. The other items are not great. The drink prices are a bit high for happy hour. Two dollars off a $14 glass of wine (before tax and tip) is hardly a happy hour. The dark haired male bartender is quite rude. He was apparently in a rush (despite only three people total seated at the bar) and sent our order to the kitchen on the computer without the toppings we wanted. We politely said hey we wanted toppings on that margherita pizza. He shrugged his shoulders and said "well I just sent it, so I don't know what you want me to do." How about be a professional and go talk to the kitchen and say hey that pizza I just sent please add mushrooms and pepperoni to it. The lack of effort and attitude was appalling. This is one of our favorite places for gluten free pizza, it is hands down the best pizza I have had anywhere. It is difficult to tell the difference between the real thing, except for the extra charge for GF. This place is a pizzeria and offer small plates and good amount of gluten free options, with the exception of pasta and the meat balls, which look amazing. I don't get why they can't use gluten free bread crumbs if they make their own pizza. Anyway the place is next to a movie theater and they have outdoor seating which is usually packed. They also have nice bar with seating and offer a really good happy hour. Their staff are very friendly and helpful with menu items. We are here at least three time a month.
