A great way to end the evening and our last night in Oxnard/Camarillo. It's been a great time with great food. Toppers was a must on my list of places. We ordered on line for delivery. So many options to choose from. So we decided on the Meatintor!! A medium with garlic sauce on the side. Let me just say... Yum!! Delicious. It was so good. Toppers ALWAYS hits! I ordered on the phone and came inside to pick up our order. It was ready at the exact time I called it in for. Parking is free and easy in a large parking lot. All employees were super helpful and friendly. The salad bar where you can also self-serve ranch cups to go is constantly being cleaned. They had World Cup pre-game on, what more can you ask for?! The Hot Honey pizza is my family's personal fave, I opt for extra garlic sauce as the base. We tried the Spicy Garlic Italian and asked for red sauce to diversify the sauces. This is clearly a valley favorite. You order at the counter, they give you a beacon, and then you go sit down. When you're food is ready, the beacon does not make noise. Rather it tells the staff where you're sitting and they deliver the food right to your table. Pretty amazing. The pizza is only made one way. There's no thin crust option. However we were quite happy with the thickness of the crust (not a big fan of a lot of bread). The sauce, cheese and crust were quite good. Their large is only 16", but that was okay. The prices were not too extreme (I always prefer the 18" pies). All in all it was a great experience, and the food was good. I love Toppers but I must say that growing up with it ... the flavors have changed. Throughout the years not sure if they have new vendors but it hits different . Sill good ... just different. Anywho .... I hadn't been to this location! Wow , much bigger than the old Cam location just down the street! It's so nice . Plenty of seating indoor and out. I got the quick lunch special for under 7 bucks , only pizza with two toppings. It was yummy. I have discovered, I no longer am a fan of their red pizza sauce. Very good pizza at affordable price. Style is thin, but not necessarily new york style. What stands out is the cheese, it is good quality and flavorful. It literally strings when you pull a slice out. They have a wide selection of beers and also wines. I tried their tap pilsner and it did the trick. I came a few years ago. But my tastebuds were really off. I was across Arneill and the delicious smell wafted over and drew me in. It was like an olfactory cartoon driven by my wants. I ordered a small Margarita Pizza to go. The line went quick. And the wait for my order was not too long. The girl at the register was very explanatory and thorough. And the people at the food window were quick but kind. I don't know if it's always like that, but there were a lot of orders. A lot of people expediting. I hope they had comfortable shoes... it was non stop movement. The pizza tasted good and travelled well. I think the crust is very tasty and the sauce has a very nice flavor. It was my first visit to Toppers as an out of towner visiting my daughter we decided on ordering a pizza to go so we could enjoy our time together. The inside is pretty big & was VERY busy full of customers. Entering & where to order was a little confusing, there was a lot of people standing around & I was unsure if they had ordered. I wasn't greeted by anyone which added to confusion. I finally had to ask the person next to me if they had ordered or if this was the line.... What was happening? They & all the other 5 people standing around had all ordered & were waiting for their orders. Once I got up to order my experience improved greatly! The gal who took my order was very pleasant & helpful in menu choices. The salad bar was messy from so much foot traffic but it had lots of options for a beautiful salad. In my opinion, Topper's has the best salad bar in Camarillo. It's constantly being attended by a server, so the selection is fresh, abundant and it's kept tidy. Dozens of options can make for a new salad creation every time. Their Ranch dressing is my favorite. Servers are friendly. Ah, to find a star in Camarillo. When I think of pizza, along with all its deliciousness, having been to Rome, Italy, to Southern California, to Vegas, I think this one takes the cake. I do regret not trying the deep-dish pizza while I was in Chicago but I digress. Nestled in Ventura County, in the heart of the sleepy hills of Camarillo, lies a Pizza Parlour, rather, chain, that is known only to the folks of Ventura County. That is, Toppers. This is where all the locals gather, it seems! Only having been in Camarillo for 3 years, whenever I bring the pizza back home to Orange County, it gets widely acclaimed for such sweet ambrose from Mt. Olympus where the gods gathered themselves! "How come we don't have a chain like this in Orange County, the food capital of foodies in SoCal?" they ask. I can see why. This specific place is huge in Camarillo! It's like a chuck. e. cheeses. but for adults! There are huge ceiling fans along with T.V.s in every corner. The brick wall contains historical pictures of Camarillo, the city. It is very nostalgic, yet somehow modern due to its cleanliness. Whether I get shade for it, the Pineapple Express is my choice of pizza. The pineapple fruit somehow pairs nicely with the crunchy pepperoni cups that combine for a sweet harmony of sweetness and savory with every bite, without being too salty. After ordering, and this is a mystery to me, somehow, wherever you sit, as you seat yourself freely, somehow, the waiters know to come to your table without numbers or anything. HOW DO THEY DO THAT? I guess some things remain best, a mystery. Freshly baked, they have 3 stainless steel, huge pizza ovens on a rolling track that is constantly rolling. The Coca-Cola Freestyle coke machine adds a nice freedom of drinks (there are 3 of them). In conclusion, this is perhaps, the best pizza parlor I have ever tasted. The price is a bit expensive, yet, it is totally worth it. The lack of parking spots are testament to the popularity of this chain at this particular location. 5 yelp stars for me! read more

Hungry and without power or gas to cook, I brought my family to Topper's for dinner. The pizza chain proved a lifesaver as many restaurants in the area were closed or overcrowded due to the fires. This is only my second time to this Topper's. I've always thought of Topper's as mediocre pizza but this time it was perfectly cooked. The bottom had a slight crisp to it, while the pizza itself had ample cheese, sauce, and pepperoni (on half). My kid, the pickiest pizza eater I've ever known and only a cheese pizza lover, ate pepperoni slices saying how this was now his favorite pizza. We were so hungry that for once my phone didn't eat first. I had a slice in my mouth burning every tastebud the second the pizza hit the table, yet enjoying every bite. Service was fast and friendly. The place was huge, ample seating, and clean. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I will definitely be coming back now that it's a new family favorite. Although my only complaint is I wasn't a fan of the dough, too thin for my liking and lacking in flavor. It's just a personal preference but I like thicker crusts, so for me it's a solid 4 stars. Topper's has been the go to pizza place in my family for over 20 years and they do still live up to their namesake of ample toppings (which you will not get from Dominos even if you pay for it), but unfortunately I'm sorry to say that we have noticed that the quality of taste has gone down in recent years. I'm not exactly sure when it happened because we don't order regularly and I had moved away for a while, but I noticed that the sauce really just doesn't taste as good as it did 20 years ago and some of the toppings, such as the pineapple (I know, hate us) appears to have been canned or previously frozen rather than fresh. I think I could live with the pineapple or just put my own on but the taste of the sauce is the real downer and I have more than half a pizza in the refrigerator now that I really just don't have a desire to eat. I don't like to complain to the masses before bringing it to the company directly but there didn't seem to be a way to provide customer feedback on their website and I'm writing this here in hopes that someone from the company will see it and improve their pizza sauce by reverting to the older recipe. read more

Absolute go to pizza There are other brands out there that might save you a buck or two, but this is worth that extra change. So dig through the couch cushions and pick the best. We loved Toppers! Visiting from LA for a baseball tournament and we were STARVING. The line was long upon arrival, but the cashiers worked diligently to take orders. Our cashier recommended the Mexican Lager to us, which was deliciously paired with our pizza. The salad bar looked clean and the restaurant was spacious. We had no problem finding a table for our large party even though it was a busy Sunday night. If you have enough room for dessert, order the cookie! It was delicious. I'm so disappointed. I love Toppers so much that I've kept ordering from there even after my friends started boycotting it over the Jonkers' family's determination to destroy downtown Ventura. The quality of the meat has dropped so dramatically that it may change. The ground beef had so much gristle. I pulled 8 pieces of ground beef out of my mouth because it was gristle. I'm giving this 2 stars because we ordered on Superbowl Sunday. My family and I were sick, and I couldn't face doing dishes. The reason this review gets 2 stars is that the order came way sooner than I expected, even though you know they were crazy busy. In fact, it came so quickly that I didn't check to make sure the front door was closed (my front yard has a tall fence). Which means that when the delivery guy came in, he was charged by a 90-lb Malinois mix puppy. He wasn't exactly super friendly after that. Still, I would have been actively upset at the carelessness of leaving the door open, so he gets a star. The other star is my daughter's garlic sauce, extra pineapple, and light cheese pizza, which was perfection as usual. If you are not a pizza person, turn it into a flatbread by ordering it without sauce (or with an alternative to tomato sauce) and no or light cheese. Their crust is *chef's kiss* If you are a "pineapple belongs on pizza" person, try it with garlic sauce. Incredible. read more

I have had this pizza before and it was good ! Figured, since I was in the area, I would try it again. The restaurant is quite busy and pretty clean. I ordered a small pizza with half cheese and half sausage. The wait was about 15 minutes which was no problem. The pizza was hot, cooked well, and had good overall flavour, but something was just a little too sweet. I am thinking it was the sauce. My wife enjoyed the salad bar and was happy creating her own little creation from a plethora of fresh ingredients.
