However, something happened during my most recent visit that really caught me off guard. As my young son and I walked into the store, a customer had a full-grown dog with her. The dog had a leash attached, but she was not holding onto it and was allowing the dog to roam freely around the store. As soon as we walked in, the dog came right up to us and started sniffing us. I was visibly uncomfortable and actually put the box I was carrying in front of us to keep the dog from getting any closer. What surprised me most was that none of the employees said anything to the owner or asked her to hold onto the dog's leash, even though what was happening was noticeable. I understand that many people love dogs and that the dog may have been friendly, but customers have no way of knowing that. Not everyone is comfortable with an unfamiliar full-grown dog walking directly up to them, especially when they have a young child with them. My son also has a reaction if he touches a dog and then touches his eyes--they become red and swollen. You just don't expect to walk into a FedEx store and have someone's loose dog immediately come up and start sniffing you. This isn't a dog park or somewhere I would expect dogs to be roaming freely. If dogs are allowed inside, I think owners should at least be required to actually hold onto the leash and keep their dog from approaching other customers. I still like this location because they're usually fast and friendly, but I really hope the employees pay more attention to this in the future. It was uncomfortable and completely took me off guard.

I didn't know if I could trust just anyone handling by beloved bible as this bible has sentimental value to me. They are located in San Marcos - or more Vista . They're in an industrial building at the end of a cul de sac. No issues with parking as they share parking spaces with neighbors. I met Irene. We went through various options and prices on what she could do with my bible. Basically, she takes the bible home and works on it there. I guess bible restoration isn't part of Golden Rule Bindery per se. There were 2 price options. $90 to restore and use synthetic leather (which mine had but was peeling off after 10+ years) or $90 + $70 if you want option of real leather I opted for the $160 which, in hindsight, is a lot of money for one bible. Sis said I coulda bought 11 bibles for that amount but hey, none would have had the notes or sentimental value I've collected over the 10y right. Irene had my bible ready in less than 1.5 weeks! The new brown leather feels great. And the bible, now, feels sturdy and strong. I'd recommend this company if you have a bible that you want restored (and can afford to do so).
