I'd already tried to get the leak patched, but it had not worked, so we were ready to start fresh with a new roof. I assumed we would get estimates for torch down, which is pretty standard for very low slope roofs, but I wanted the roofers to tell me what type of roof they thought would be best. Most told me torch down. I had been reading about TPO roofs and I was curious to see if many roofers knew how to do them. Before Barcenas, about 6 other roofers came over to quote. Only 3 produced a written quote, and only 1 sounded like they felt confident about doing TPO. Anyhow, I was pretty annoyed by the whole process, as it was sucking up a lot of my time, by the time Barcenas Roofing came over. I had unenthusiastlly picked a different roofer by that time so I was ready to just go with that, but since Jesus at Barcenas had been texting (my preferred method of communication by far) I figured I might as well meet up with one last company - kinda to be polite, truth be told. But before long, I felt something was different about these guys. They made me feel like they were going to do whatever it took to get the job, even if that included aspects that were not roofing, which really meant something to me. They were solution oriented as to the bigger picture, not strictly the 500 sq ft roof. They were fully engaged. Their bid was for TPO and it included removing and rebuilding an awning that I wanted to become part of the roof.The 2 guys who bid the job (owner & supervisor) also personally worked the job even though they had a large crew. They had such a great work ethic. They came on time, early in the morning and many of them stayed late into the evening. They got 95% of the entire roof, the awning tear down and rebuild, and other repairs like bad plywood and facia fixing, done in ONE DAY! I have nothing bad to say. They did a nice job, provided a total solution, for a great price, and they did it super fast. 5-stars.

Let me start by saying that I second a lot of what people are saying about Carlos: in that, he…read morecomes off as a nice guy, he has a nice crew, and he has a drone that he flies over your house when searching for an issue on your roof. Where I disagree with the other reviews concerns Carlos' ability to deliver results. Because in my case, he simply did not deliver results. To be clear, I paid Carlos $1,600 to FIND and REPAIR the source of a leak above my upstairs bathroom. He came out, flew his drone around, and told me that he found the issue. After doing some work on the roof, he then told me that he found the issue and fixed it. A couple months later, still had the leak. He subsequently sent a crew member out to find the source of the continued leak. The crew member went up to the roof, did some work, and told me that he found the issue (a different issue than Carlos first found) and fixed it. Still, the leak continued, and only became worse over time (see attached photo). For a while, Carlos talked a good game about coming back out to repair the leak after I sent him photos and videos of the fact that the leak was still not repaired. But he never showed any sense of urgency about scheduling to come back out. There was always an excuse as to why we would have to schedule for "next week" or sometime in the future instead of just making it a priority to come back out and get the job done. Then, the last time we spoke, he proposed opening up the ceiling in my bathroom to find the leak, but ghosted me after making that drastic suggestion and after I requested a partial (not even a full) refund. I then had another company from Bergenfield come out that immediately found the source of the leak and fixed it for several hundreds of dollars less than what Carlos charged me. For me at least (as I can't speak for others' experience), Carlos is a business owner who can't deliver results, and who ghosts you and keeps your money when you call him on it, even after you inform him that you will sue him (which, I will) if he doesn't provide a refund. Not my kind of guy, not my kind of business.

They came the very next day for the consultation and promised they could start the day after and it would be a one day job. However, they ended up showing up late afternoon in the winter so they had to come back the next day to finish up. Even though they promised to show up in the morning again, they did not show up till late afternoon. This 1 day job ended up being 3 days. We had signed a contract stating there is a 10 year warranty on the roof and the manager/supervisor promised if there was any leaks within 10 years he would come back and fix it. I have a voice recording of him saying this and a copy of our written contract of course. Less than 1.5 years later, in 2023, my roof is leaking again. I have been reaching out, calling/texting etc but this company will make up every excuse in the book not to show up. After months of promising to come "the next day for sure 100%", they will not show. Finally, they showed up 1 time just to inspect and they told me they didn't have the materials and they would come back tomorrow to fix it. Of course, they never came back. They texted me saying I would need to buy the materials, because the guarantee in the contract only covers labor costs and not materials. He offered to help me buy the materials for $80 or I can buy it myself. They made it very difficult for me to buy the materials by sending very blurry pictures and misspelling the name of the product in hopes that I would give them money instead. In the end, I was able to buy the materials, but they never showed up to fix it. In the end, they blocked my number when they realized they were not getting any more money from me. I used a new number to call them and they immediately picked up. After realizing it was not new business, they told me I had to pay for labor to fix my roof despite being well within the 10 year warranty. They are now making up another excuse that the leak is not from what they worked on (which is a complete lie as they redid my entire roof). In the end, they never showed up (after promising they would, of course) and blocked my second phone number. I have evidence of everything I stated above about this company (contract/license/text messages/phone logs) and I am happy to share with anyone considering using this company. TLDR: Your roof will leak again shortly after the job and they will not come back unless you pay them more to fix their own work.
