This place has recently been renamed Valiant but when you search for blood donation centers, both…read morewill come up. This place is clean, has a small parking lot, and runs efficiently. I did have trouble making an appointment online, but called and got one scheduled however they also take walk ins. Checkin is self initiated, with lots of sanitizer available, and then a series of tables and chairs to wait at. Right now with the need for blood, it was definitely busy but the staff was very apologetic and continued servicing each donar with speed. I've given blood many times with many centers and I was very impressed with their response when I passed out after donating casually eating my crackers. They swooped me up, got me in a wheel chair quickly with lots of ice packs and settled into a bed. Shout out to Denise who managed my vitals, got my head and lip checked out, then gave all the info to my husband to take me home after clearing it with the rest of the staff. They then called the next day to check on me. I felt really comfortable with this location and the staff that was working enough to go back. She let me know to tell them I had an incident before and they would take extra precautions. I'm happy I could give blood to support those who need it and have so many wonderful people and places to take on that job. Recommend this establishment.

I have been donating for many years as it serves a purpose & a need. Life source is always looking for donors as there is always a need, so if you are able to you should donate. In my case the recipient of my platelets is person that is going through chemotherapy & is in need of platelet replacement to replenish the ones lost through the chemotherapy process. A few years ago Life source started a point system for whole blood, double red blood and platelets. You can accumulate points for donating & redeem them for debit cards that can be used for whatever. As you can see this is a WIN WIN situation. You are providing blood or platelets for Life Source & people in need & being rewarded for doing so. PLEASE DONATE TO A WORTHY CAUSE.

Other than that staff is okay and you get your money when you do this part. When you do visit hopefully you see a security guard that looks like actor Mario Lopez from saved by the Bell and Pacific blue. Unfortunately I couldn't get a good picture of him. The security guard even smiles like him.

And the staff who checks your blood and vitals, are slow and too busy talking about the dates they had the night before and high 5 each other. Or they are talking about other coworkers. And couldn't care less about the people donating. And all the while security is hanging around the desks where patients are having their vitals taken. And chatting and gossiping with the workers. I realize these people are not trained medical professionals and are being paid minimum wage. Still no excuse for being RUDE!

I needed to take a infant/child CPR course since I'll have a little one soon so I decided to take…read moreit here at the Red Cross, though there were other options available too. I was mostly worried about parking in this area but they do have some parking just west of the facility, across Leavitt. You enter that lot lot Harrison. Much/most/all of the street along Leavitt is 30 minute parking only which could work if you have an appointment here to donate blood, depending upon how long the appointments are. The course was good. It lasted about two and a half hours or so and began with adult CPR and choking techniques, from which the child and infant techniques are derived so you learn those modifications toward the end of the course. There were a couple people here who didn't need/want the child instruction so they were able to leave during the break. Due to the pandemic, they assign two people to a dummy instead of three as they used to, but they do partner you up if you're alone to ensure that you have someone observing to make sure you're getting the techniques correct. The course is a certification course, and I received my certification card later that same day (Saturday).

I have donated at a variety of locations and drives in the city, and each time has been so great. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming. They make you feel comfortable since it can be a scary thing if you don't like blood! At today's drive, Jose was so incredibly friendly and explained everything very clearly, which I imagine would be so helpful for a first time donor. They also offer flexible appointments and a variety of locations for convenience. I highly recommend the app as well-- so easy!
