The staff seemed rushed and overworked, and it showed in how poorly customers were treated. From the moment I walked in, the process felt chaotic and unorganized -- long waits, little communication, and no sense of compassion for the people actually donating. The facility itself didn't feel very clean, and at times I honestly felt more like a number than a human being. Donating plasma is not easy on your body, but the staff acted like donors were disposable, just another body to cycle through. On top of that, I couldn't help but notice how stressed and unhappy the employees looked. When workers are clearly burnt out and unsupported, it trickles down into how customers get treated too. It left me wondering how much this company really values anyone in the building, whether staff or donors. I understand plasma donation is important, but there are other centers in Chicago that treat people with more respect and run a tighter ship. My advice: try somewhere else if you want a smoother, more humane experience.

Sadly, she was parked in the sole handicapped parking spot directly in front of their entrance Isn't parking in a handicapped spot without displaying a placard a $250 fine ? Frankly, this turned me off. So I did not go in. I'll need to see if I have other options. I don't know if their team condones this as a parking perk, but it just seems blatant disregard for the public.

I recently went back here as a new returning donor I give blood samples June 2 and donate June 5 so…read moremy next donation was June 9 they said I tested positive for HIV I said that's impossible if I don't have sex or didn't come in contact with anybody blood so I went that same day to the doctor and got negative results. So I went back to the center to talk to the manager and supervisor and they didn't want to take my proof that was negative. They didn't talk to me in private or anything. I saw with my own eyes they mishandling people blood because one of the workers throw the blood bowl in the garage and the manager was aware of this and just told him to get it out the garage. They also did my sister like this. Something should be done about those workers. I am gonna get that place investigated if that's the last thing I do cause you don't play with people life like that not to mention they laughed at me and wanted to talk to me in front of other people.

I was mostly worried about parking in this area but they do have some parking just west of the facility, across Leavitt. You enter that lot lot Harrison. Much/most/all of the street along Leavitt is 30 minute parking only which could work if you have an appointment here to donate blood, depending upon how long the appointments are. The course was good. It lasted about two and a half hours or so and began with adult CPR and choking techniques, from which the child and infant techniques are derived so you learn those modifications toward the end of the course. There were a couple people here who didn't need/want the child instruction so they were able to leave during the break. Due to the pandemic, they assign two people to a dummy instead of three as they used to, but they do partner you up if you're alone to ensure that you have someone observing to make sure you're getting the techniques correct. The course is a certification course, and I received my certification card later that same day (Saturday).

I have donated at a variety of locations and drives in the city, and each time has been so great. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming. They make you feel comfortable since it can be a scary thing if you don't like blood! At today's drive, Jose was so incredibly friendly and explained everything very clearly, which I imagine would be so helpful for a first time donor. They also offer flexible appointments and a variety of locations for convenience. I highly recommend the app as well-- so easy!

Dr. Avery Thau Md. unprofessional, unethical, bias, and possibly politically liberal. My appointment was July 9, 2026 @ 10:45 a.m. I was told to come in early as I always do. I made it there approximately 9:30 a.m. The process of checking in with the staff was very professional, progressive, and comforting. Let me introduce Dr. Avery Thau Md. to you (IMAGINE). I set in a dark room less than 10 feet away from where Dr. Thau Md. was. No magazines, books, music, tv, anything from 10:30 a.m. til 11:13 a.m. Not one time did Dr. Thau Md. acknowledge my presence. For instance..."I'm running a little late I will be with you in a minute" Is everything okay do you need anything? etc. My experience concerning unforseen issues relates to proper communication/etiquette. Secondly, I was told if I am late or no show that there will be a fine or penalty. Seems like a double standard huh? I never knew this because I am always early until one time my transportation was in stall. Lets also be very clear...imagine for a minute ...don't pass this. IN THE DARK LITERALLY from 10:30 a.m thru 11:13 a.m. I can imagine many things so lets began with racial profiling, discrimination, prejudice/bias, politically sustained. Because he did not learn that in medical school. The top of the list in school concerns humanity, confidentiality, objectivity, and respect for all man kind. This is the behavior of someone apart of a hidden cult. An institute of hierarchies who exude power and control over the less fortunate.
