The online portion was just right balance to refresh knowledge without being reading/exam heavy, it was a good prep for the in person class. The in person portion was a good class and it flew by. The quality of classroom instruction is very well worth the time and money--so much so that even though my former employer offered ACLS and BLS renewals through work for free and while on the clock, I would still self-pay and renew through ACT and attended on my own time because it's hassle-free and it saved me the time and frustration of sitting in front of a computer for hours at a time and suffering through the monotony. The in-person classes are dynamic and are designed in a way that respects our time as HCWs. There are plenty of morning and evening class time offerings and I've always been able to find a time that works with my schedule. Classroom training is clear, concise, and time efficient. I usually take the morning courses and will get my card the same day. I did take a night class recently and got my card the very next morning, shortly after opening. I recently learned that one of the instructors had bought/taken over the business and I think maybe that's why they're at this new location? I hope that ACT continues to thrive and offer their services for decades to come. I will continue to come here for my AHA recertifications and I recommend them to all my friends and local colleagues. TL;DR: 10/10 highly recommend renewing ACLS, BLS, and PALS through ACT. Very well worth the time and money!

In our class, most every person had been CPR qualified at some point or another, including myself, so it was more of a refresher course than it was learning new material. We had three instructors, one full time employee of the Red Cross and two volunteers, for our class size of about 15. The class was approximately three hours long and not, to my surprise, an all day affair like I had experienced in the past. This was the perfect amount of time, especially for an afternoon course on a summer day. While the Red Cross does offer online courses for CPR now, I would highly recommend to just sign up and go in person for the training. You have the instructors right there in front of you to answer any questions that you may have, and you also can learn from your other classmates as well. The Northeast Florida Chapter for the American Red Cross is nestled just between the Cummer and Riverside Arts Market. I'm sure that they have been at this location for a long while, but it's a perfectly central spot in the city.
