We bought a new house recently and called American Rooter Services to check out the plumbing and sewer pipes before we signed the final contract. Stilyan and Kris came over very quickly and used a camera scope to look at the sewer pipe all the way to the city sewer under the street. They found out that the pipe was broken under our yard!! We were able to address the issue with the seller before we bought the house which saved us thousands of dollars! Stilyan and Kris fixed the problem quickly and we have the highest level of confidence that the job was done correctly. We were nervous about having a broken sewer in our yard but feel great now that the job was completed so professionally!! Stilyan and Kris also discovered that a gas pipe went right through the city's sewer pipe underneath our sidewalk. They advised us to call the city and let them know what they found. Feliks arrived slightly ahead of schedule for my free estimate for replacing my electric water heater, and was on time for the appointment to install it. After finishing the job, Feliks checked my water pressure, which was a little high at 80 PSI. He recommended replacing my pressure reducing valve, offering to knock off $100 if I got it done right then, saving an extra trip. I agreed, but then got a pleasant surprise a few minutes later. Feliks discovered that my PRV was one that had an adjustment knob, which he didn't see before because it was partially covered up by a nearby air duct. So, rather than charge me for an unnecessary replacement, he adjusted the pressure and knocked that service off my bill. Despite having to work in a narrow crawlspace and having more difficulty with the water heater installation than anticipated, Feliks still only charged me the amount quoted before the job. He wouldn't even accept anything for having checked and adjusted the water pressure, when he could have easily pocketed another $350 to replace a valve, and I never would have been the wiser. I cannot thank Stiliyan with American Rooter Services enough. I have a fairly rare sewer system. My house is below grade and I have a sewer ejector system that pumps up to the street. Any real plumber should know and understand the type of system and that it's not a difficult repair. Sunday my system alarm goes off, which means my ejector pump isn't functioning properly. I call 6 different plumbers (3 plumbers quoted over the phone and 3 came out) to quote the job. I got prices as high as $5,000. Stiliyan on the other hand clearly explained the problem and gave me options. I ended up replacing my ejector with a higher quality and more power pump and still paid a third the cost. It's unfortunate that companies see that you live in a nice neighborhood and are young and clearly want to take advantage of your situation. Our sewage backed up in the morning and they were by within the hour. We used 2-10 home warranty and Stiliyan was very professional and kept me informed on what he suspected the problem is and worked on trying to resolve it. Unfortunately, 2-10 gave us both the ring around on authorizing him for paid work and he not only started, but went above and beyond. Long story short, we paid out of pocket and he not only resolved our sewage problem and cleaned the back up, but already went ahead to set up water damage crew to come by. He kept us informed during the whole process of why he's doing what he's doing and gave us a fair price. Our hot water heater started spewing water 5ft in the air, the first 3 companies i called told me to call the fire dept, because at this point there was 2 inches of water on the floor. Finally my 4th call to American rooter services, the girl on the phone remotely connected me to one of the plumbers, finally someone cared. I spoke with an awesome gentlmann Stylian who dropped what he was doing, stayed on the phone with me while driving so he could explain to me which knob to turn the water off. Finally the water is off and Stylian is here about 10 min later. I am a single parent of 2, i don't know much about house stuff. I needed to replace the regular outdoor hose bibs with quarter-turn hose bibs to facilitate opening and closing of water by my wife.
