Guess there's a really good reason they've been in busienss since 1969!? So when my Mama needed help at her place, I didn't hesitate or have to waste time vetting a bunch of other companies knowing she'd be in good hands with these folks. We had our residential split system ac/furnace repaired by ASM today. The tech did a nice job troubleshooting the issue, which had been intermittent and of course was not failing when he arrived (Murphy's Law of Repairs)! The cost of the service and recommended solution was very reasonable and the technician promised to make a priority visit should the issue come up again in order to better diagnose the problem. However, after speaking with him and tracing back the timing of the issue, we are pretty certain he nailed the diagnosis. Moreover, the office staff was quick to answer our calls and provide information, schedule appointment, etc. We have been looking for a more reliable long term option for our HVAC service and feel we found one it today! read more

I had the best experience today with them and thought it was worth sharing. For some crazy reason my wife noticed all of a sudden yesterday morning our furnace was blowing cold air. We were referred to these guys by my wife's employer who said they were "hands down the most reasonable and know their stuff". Paul was sent out and went the extra mile to provide a inexpensive solution. The coldest morning of the year so far and sometime during the night my heater decided to start blowing cold air. I called them at 7:30 a.m. and by 8:15 a.m. Chris was here. Do not use this company for solar installation. They don't know what they are doing. Solar was installed in May. In July we received a $1200 PGE bill. Apparently American Sheet Metal neglected to get a final and solar was never turned on. Owner felt bad and showed up with a bottle of wine. Since then it's been one big joke. They hooked up a device that allows monitoring of production. Rarely does this device ever show that all panels are working. And guess what??? We can't get a return call from these jokers. We have a $95,000 solar system that sucks. read more

Great company with exceptional employees. I hold them in the highest regard and will recommend them to everyone I know. I had ongoing issues with my split system and had many service technicians from other companies come out and "fix" the problem only to have the same issues happen over and over again at great expense. My best friend suggested American Sheet Metal and I could not be happier. They came out the same day and took care of the problem. I am now looking to upgrade to a more energy efficient system as my current one is going on 30 years old, and their quote is well under the two quotes I had previously gotten from other companies. They helped us with an A/C problem under American Home Shield warranty that our regular service company would not. I would rate them higher however, I asked for a quote on solar and never got one. Their salesman came out ant talked to us, did the basics to get started and assured us someone would be in touch with us within a week to give us a bid. Two weeks passed and no call, so I called the salesman to find out why. He seemed to be surprised and said he would talk to whoever he needed to and would personally call me back. Needless to say that has been well over a month and no one has contacted us. As appreciative as I was for their help during our A/C crisis I found the solar experience unacceptable and that has tainted my whole perception of the company. There are too many good heating and A/C companies in Fresno to deal with this. read more

American sheet metal and ac came to my house this morning to fix an ac unit that had stopped working. Mind you it was 100 degrees today so it was flipping hot. Wayne went up in the roof and 25-30mins later cold air was pumping through the house once again. He started to explain what was the issue but I could care less as I was bracing myself for the bill. When he gave it to me I was like that's it? He said yes. I was tempted to hug him!!! Needless to say I had a great experience and would recommend them to anybody. read more

My mother-in-law's air conditioner stopped working last night. I called American Sheet Metal first thing his morning, told them she was 90 and miserable! They squeezed her in for later in he day. I cannot begin to tell you how pleased we were with the work done by American Sheet Metal. Their A.C./Heater products were everything they said and more, but the kicker was the quality of service.Their workers went above and beyond to install and service the new equipment in a house nearly 60 years old. They found some floor damage under the heater which was promptly repaired and they upgraded several pieces of equipment in the attic and under the house. They were friendly and they explained EVERYTHING they did, as they did it. Kudos to owner Jason Whipple and American Sheet Metal.
