Most thrift stores usually have a small section for fur coats, but this store has its back full of them. I was in fur coat heaven! Prices are nice and reasonably priced. Stopped in to see if it was the same retail space as Aardvark, a used clothing store I shopped in high school. It is. In some ways it hasn't changed since the 80's. The selection was good as were the prices. read more

An item was priced incorrectly, it read "motorcycle jacket" on the tag so I inquired about the price because the description was incorrect. It was a blazer, all the other blazers were priced 45-65 dollars with pants included. The shopgirls called the owner to determine the price. (A blazer with no pants) owner came back with the price of 250!! That was priced higher than anything else in this shop!! He said it was vintage black tie (it wasn't, the button flaps weren't even opened, just sewed on) GREED is not a good luck when a customer wants an item... even the shop girl said to the owner, This is illegal.. I shopped here years ago and walked out with stunning private label dresses, true vintage T's and a few accessories. Imagine my disappointment when my visit yesterday was a complete bust. I understand the ebb and flow of thrifting and scouring for vintage goods, but while perusing the racks I came across so many clothes from Target! I'd expect that at a Goodwill or a Salvation Army, but not a store that's boasts a vintage vibe. The drive was not worth it. Hopefully the store buyers can get back to a bit more exclusivity and thus reward shoppers with some quality finds. read more

Stopped by yesterday and the sign said they'll return at 11am but it was 11:20am. So I went to other stores and came back after 12pm, still closed! So I come all the way back today to shop and walked in and the man with tattoos looked at me and looked back down at his phone. No warm greeting. Even though I walked straight in front of the cashier desk to the men's shirts. Then a minute later two people walk in after me and they were greeted with a very warm welcome. I hate to be that guy but I couldn't help but notice that I am a POC and they weren't. Immediately left and will not be returning if that's how they treat their customers. read more

We also stopped here to checkout some Vintage style clothing and goodies. Walked inside, and we were greeted right away. Had a few interesting things here I'd say. My girl was happy with the stuff she saw, of course. But I still had a good time just venturing out into the area looking and shopping for items. Nice staff, and cool place. read more

I found a very cool vintage denim jacket I've been hunting for many months. It was only $35, which I think is really inexpensive, compared to other vintage shops. I though that the store had a great variety of trendy clothes, especially jeans. I also liked that all the items had a big label with the size and the price, which made my shopping much easier. I loved the music and the general atmosphere, so I will definitely be back, when I'm in the area. read more

If you're going to be in the area, you may as well stop by American Vintage. I find that this vintage shop usually has a few good items that the others don't. You never know if you're going to find something great! The store is also pretty clean and organized which makes it easier to comb through the merch. Found a couple cool pieces from here before. read more

I wandered in here after brunching nearby at Blu Jam, and was not disappointed. Pretty organized for a vintage shop, with sections based on style of garment, and color. Sizes are not as apparent, but since sizing for women is generally all over the place, just try it on. They have two fitting rooms and are very helpful. I see Bonsuela G. below has said similar things to me, so let me just add to the chorus. The pricing is very fair (much cheaper than SF Bay Area), and clothes are clean and in good shape. But, my favorite thing was that they actually had a lot of VINTAGE! So many times, places call themselves vintage and it's all stuff under 15 years old, which is lame. I found a lot of treasures during my quick browse. Even more vintage items didn't fit me but I wish they did, such as a hippie top from the 70's, vintage 60's shirt dress, etc. My finds included an obviously homemade red gingham maxi skirt with crazy ruffles and lace (70's era), pretty 80's sundress with flowy skirt and cool print, and a vintage nightie from the 60's/70's that was like new. I will return when I'm back on Melrose. read more

This place was very well organized and the clothes were in pretty good shape and clean! They had some very reasonably priced stuff, as low as $3 or $5, and I loved that if something had a flaw (such as a missing button) it was actually reflected in the price. There were real vintage items mixed in the clothing too, but most of it was just second hand Madewell, divided, etc. Didn't find anything for myself this time but I look forward to going back! read more
