What really stood out is that the part needed would have taken about five days to arrive if ordered, and we were honestly considering just buying a new dryer because of the wait. He was very honest and said he hadn't done this kind of job on older ovens before. I had a wine cooler - and he charged me $79.99 for diagnosing the problem - which was the the thermostat. b) He told me that it would be an additional $350, for him to order the part and install it - but I told him that I could order the part myself (BTW - for $150). At which point he told me - there would be no warranty and he would install it for $75. c) So we agreed, I would order the part, and he would be back to install it for $75. While leaving I told him I had a dryer that also needed looking at - and he said since he is coming back he would look at it for NO CHARGE. d) 2 weeks later, I got the part, and I texted Jon. After re-introducing myself, he told me that it would now cost $150 to install it. After some back and forth, he agreed to $120 - and he also agreed that he would look at the dryer. e) He came today - installed the thermostat in the wine cooler - spent 15 mins on the dryer - and wanted $150. I had a concern a couple of days later and they scheduled a follow up appointment for later the same week. The same man came out, took the dryer back apart and made sure everything was ok, which it was. He was in and out in about 30 minutes. He didn't charge me anything and would not accept a tip.
