After 2 days of self-troubleshooting, disassembling and trying everything I knew how to do, I decided to call a professional. When I found Oren's business on Yelp I was very impressed by the comments by other Yelpers. I decided to give Oren a call and while he was not able to come the same day (he was fully booked in East County) he did ask me to text him everything I had already tried. After some time, Oren called me back and asked if I had tried the gas valve. He also suggested that I try to replace it since it was an easy fix. Our dryer had been making high-pitched screeching noises (came with our recent home purchase, about 10 years old). And then 2-3 weeks ago, started making loud knocking noises during the dry cycle. Contacted through Yelp, Oren responded within 2 hours on a Sunday and we scheduled time a few days later. My dishwasher was not cleaning dishes properly, so I called and spoke with Oren to schedule an appointment. He was able to come within 2 days, and within the timeframe he set. This is the second time we've had Oren come out to fix our dryer and both times he did a great job!! He was running behind a bit this last time but had the courtesy to call (which I appreciated). He came, gave a quote and promptly fixed our dryer. He even cleaned up after himself which is nice. I called right after the Thanksgiving weekend and Oren was able to come right out. I told him of the problem with our Kitchenaid refrigerator over the phone first. He had me check out a couple things first before coming over. When that didn't work he was able to squeeze us in. Oren was very honest and quick. He found that our front control panel was bad, but said it could be the rear one as well. He said that there was no way to know for sure without replacing the front panel first. But he didn't want to do that without checking that the rear control panel was available. As he confirmed it was not. He said it would be an almost $400 gamble just to replace the front panel and that it might take care of the problem. He highly advised against it as it was a gamble. So we took his advice and went shopping for a new one. With all this stuff coming from China I highly recommend buying the extended warranties for 5 years or more. He said that in that case they would have to give us a new one. Oren is a great guy and we appreciate his response, honesty and advice.
