We knew immediately that Forever Young was the best memory care home for our dad, and we added our name to the waitlist. As dad's disease progressed rapidly, we toured other residential and larger memory care facilities. Each visit only reaffirmed our decision to wait for Forever Young. During this period, William also provided valuable recommendations for equipment to help dad stay safe while he remained at home. Now, eight months into dad's residency at Forever Young our gratitude for William and his caregiving team has only deepened. The caregivers are genuine, kind, compassionate, and loving--truly exceptional. They know dad so well that they can anticipate his needs, which not only ensures outstanding care but also helps reduce his frustrations with his condition. The staff frequently send me pictures of dad participating in activities, which is such a comfort. This was especially important as we had no idea how to proceed with these services. In William's care and experienced advisement, my dad lived as well as anyone could in his situation. His end of life was filled with love and affection. The team was patient and loving to our family's accommodations as we navigated that terribly sensitive time in our lives. William is someone you will immediately bond with and keep a relationship with throughout time. That is how deeply impactful his approach and communication is with his families. Guardian Angels stood out, and it was a perfect fit for my mother. We planned to move her in on 1/10. Sonja and Jonathan took the extra care needed, and invited my mom to dinner with the residents on 1/8. They attended a conference call with my sister in another state, they were very loving and compassionate. On 1/9, things took a turn for the worst and my mother had a massive seizure that she was not coming back from. She had several others, and she began actively passing and went home on 1/15. Guardian Angels was with us on the phone through all of it, even though we had just met them, they felt like family. They truly care about their residents, and they do this from the love within their hearts. Some places are all about the money, this place is not. They have been in the business for over 30 years, and they know what they are doing!!!. Thank you for everything, I wish things didn't happen like this, but we are not in charge.

This time the man had to go to ER and then the police went to get a report on the matter. How many more people have to get hurt before something is done? -------------------------------------- UPDATED 06-27-06: Had to remove grandma from this place due to allegations of abuse. It's been an ongoing battle trying to get the best care from this place and now it's come to this. PM me for further information if you need it. Now that I've gotten more experience on what to look for when looking for such places, this place would've set off immediate bells but since at the beginning we were all novices.... who the hell knew. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've been waiting to write a review of this place and now that it's been over 2 years, I think it's about time. My grandparents have been living at this place for over 2 years now. In the beginning, when my mom and I went to check it out, it was really clean and everything was pretty A-OK. One of my uncles had found this place after searching for a suitable place for my elderly grandparents to live. As time went by, it became more and more apparent to me after I started going on a daily basis, that there are SO many things I'm unhappy with regarding their care. First of all, this board and care is licensed to take 6 'guests'. At the moment there are only 4. There are 2 caregivers there during the day and only one remains around evening time while the other one leaves for the evening returning in the morning. Now, one would think that the staff would be properly trained to take care of their nutritional needs as well as be knowledgeable in areas of hygiene. However, this is not the case. I've time and time again reminded (and this is only one of the caregivers mind you) this woman that high sodium intake is detrimental to everyone, especially the elderly. She nods but does not compute further than the nodding. On top of that, she dons disposable gloves to do various duties, but then forgets to change them upon completion of one task before starting another. This is extremely gross. I've waited to write this review because I wanted to give the owner an opportunity to remedy the situation before I went ahead and wrote a less than favorable review. And I've done this on more than one, two, or even three occasions. I'm constantly letting him know regarding the situation at his business. He's very diplomatic. He tells me he will look into it and that we'll work together to rectify the situation. However, this hasn't been the case time after time again. I've given up. I go everyday to make sure that my grandparents are as well cared for as they can be. I will do some of the cleaning which should be done on a daily basis -- washing mugs for instance. In terms of the food situation, my grandfather is on a pureed diet and grandma eats like a bird, so generally, I seriously doubt she will be consuming THAT much salt to cause too much harm. I do bring her meals about 4x a week when I'm able to make something. It is very sad and pathetic that even the administrator is not well versed in the areas of patient care.... not enough to be able to set out boundaries which her staff can adhere to. The food preparation is so horrendous that personally, I'd rather starve than eat that shit they give to the 'guests'. Until there is some improvement, I will continue to monitor and update this review as things come to light. It is a sad sad situation when people get so old that no one is able to care for them without the help of others. UPDATE: There have been no improvements, but after countless efforts on my part informing the owner of things which need looking into, all I've gotten were emails saying he'll take care of it, but then never getting around to it. The administrator he has does a piss poor job of managing and does not have any common sense when dealing with family members. This woman didn't even have the common decency to send her condolences within a couple of days of my grandfather's passing. She waited 9 days.... yes NINE days before casually saying to me "oh condolences" kinda like as an afterthought. I was disgusted and offended by her insensitivity and lack of professionalism when dealing with the matter. I only wish the authorities will do more to make sure that places such as these get looked over with a fine tooth comb as it is very depressing when the elderly have been mistreated.

Other than that, this building feels like a hotel, and I would definitely consider this in the future. The employees that come into the residential area are attentive. I also like that each room has the names of the residents, and there's even braille.
