This place is huge and can be a bit overwhelming because of how much there is to see! I think I've been here three times total, and I've found at least one thing each time. We spent about an hour here and still did not see everything. The prices seem average and sometimes a bit expensive. The only thing I really dislike is seeing AI art and modern item. I think they should be more selective with their vendors. AI doesn't belong at an "antique" mall. read more

First time visiting. It is a very large shop. We spent one hour there and only looked at half the shop. I started off really impressed with the store. It is brightly lit. Each vendor's kiosk is clean and nicely decorated. My impression started to fall down when I used the ladies restroom and discovered that there was no toilet paper in any of the 3 stalls. Unfortunately, I didn't realize this until I had chosen a stall that I thought had paper in it. So no toilet paper for me. There are signs in the restroom advising patrons to let a staff member know if the bathroom needs attending to. I'm supposed to do your job? Shortly after we went to the check out desk. I had a simple pair of earrings. The check out desk had at least 4 women doing various tasks. Only 1 woman was checking out the customer before us. I honestly don't mean to sound disrespectful, but whenever you have 3 elderly customers huddled around the check out desk with the one cashier, it is a sure bet that the transaction is going to take an extra long time. And that it did. None of the other 3 women acknowledged me to signal that they could check me out so I didn't have to wait for the 3 elderly people to finish. After about 5 minutes one of the managers signaled to me "one moment". So I expected her to put down the task she was working on and check me out. Didn't happen. She continued to do her task as did the other 2 women and I continued to wait! After another 5 minutes or so, a worker came to the check out desk, set up and finally checked me out. I did not appreciate having to wait at least 10 minutes (maybe more?) to check out when I was the only one in line. IMO, a customer waiting to check out should take precedence over clerks doing other tasks. I want to return to look through the other half of the store that I did not have time to see. But frankly, the check out experience left a bad taste in my mouth so I am not in a hurry to return. read more

This place is fun, even if you're not a hard-core antique connoisseur. I guarantee you won't be able to keep your hands to yourself. You'll pick things up and say "ooh, look at this!" This place is so large they even have cross streets inside. They have really cool seasonal, antique, and even modern pieces. The little 80's latch key kid with his skateboard and bmx awakened after seeing all of the 80's toys. Each booth makes you feel as if you're time warping, and that is a good thing. As the weather gets colder and you can't take walks along the riverside, and you're tired of walking by Tilly's, Claire's, and Foot Locker in every mall, over and over again, walk through America's Antique Mall, your eyeballs will thank you. read more

I drove over an hour to visit this place, thinking it would be a great find. I was sadly disappointed with my experience and ended up leaving before finishing the store. I knew I was going to have a bad time when I walked up and could see CANDY and food through the windows, like entire booths of food items and packaged candy bar spaces. In the hot summer windows, in an antique store, candy bar? Well, this is not an antique mall, it's a flea market / craft vendor market with maybe 1/3 antiques and vintage goods. You can't tell if you are in an antique store because you'll be looking at craft items or TJMaxx resells and then you question everything in any nearby booth. I found a few items worth buying, some huge sales with vendors already leaving. Then at checkout, the younger cashier was the most apathetic and scowling checkout person I've interacted with in a while. I asked her to hold some items so I could return in two hours after lunch and because I was running late, and she ignored me and said she would wrap things quickly. She moved at a glacial pace and did not wrap quickly. She never smiled, said nothing, didn't respond to anything I said. I had planned to come back and explore the cases, but I did not after interacting with her. I will not be back. read more

Mr. R saw an ad for this place and had been waiting a few months for it to open. We had to drive about two hours to get here, but we were in it for a short road trip. The mall is very large, in an old Ashley furniture store complete with a large fireplace prop. The right side of the store had a lot of newer merch like some have mentioned. It felt to me a little bit like people's Etsy shops. And honestly that was ok, though I didn't buy anything. Clothes, candy, dip mixes, milk paint, dishes, and more. The left side had more antique type stuff: furniture, collectibles, coins, Star Wars toys, ornaments, autographed CDs, and the like. Someone was running a macrame class towards the back while we were there. If I lived closer I would walk through a couple times a year but I wouldn't say it's worth a road trip. read more

My experience as a vendor has been amazing. My booth Zoe's Attic J7 has curated, inspired collections & treasures that transcend eras and ordinary design. The variety of items that I've been able to share have made this experience very positive. I have also ventured into renting a showcase AA8 for at least the first quarter in 2025 to include smaller/higher priced items. There is a large variety of wares that fellow vendors present and not everything is considered vintage or antique. But there is a market for these items. I have spoken to many visitors as I am working on my booth from all ages and they all have different tastes and appreciate the variety. read more

My son and I visited here a few days before Christmas. This is the former Ashley furniture store located on Randall Rd in Algonquin. Spacious, well thought displays. There is something here for everyone, some new merchandise as well, hand made crafted items, plants, boutique clothing and jewelry, snack type stuff ( popcorn, fudge ) along with all the older finds. The staff is very helpful when you want to see or purchase something from the display cases. We had a great time looking at all they had. There is still plenty of vacancies available for potential vendors. They were pretty busy and whenever I drive past the parking lot, it is full. This is a great location for this place and a welcome addition to the area. We will be back!! read more

Worst option ever!! Renting space at the American antique mall would be the worst option ever. Extremely one-sided to the benefit of the owners. I recommend you do the math first. This organization is out to get rich off the vendors and their sales as quick as possible no matter how hard it is on the vendors to keep going. They charge almost 4 dollars per square foot and 12% of your gross sales. This amounts to five times the cost per square foot of other commercial/warehouse type space. I would not consider their space to be retail because it is just an empty building with all the vendors stuff piled into it like an indoor flea market. I feel so sorry for the vendors that are being taken advantage of!! A lot of them really need the money and they have no idea how bad of a deal they have been suckered into. Thank God I have quite a bit of experience in this area and twice I considered renting a space from them but when I reviewed all the numbers it was horribly in favor of the owners. I would be working my tail off just to line their pockets. When I brought this up to them they said they would refuse to rent me a space despite the fact that I already told them I wasn't going to rent one because of the extremely unfair advantage they have put in place for themselves. If you have no experience with renting commercial or retail space I recommend you find somebody with experience and show them what you're thinking about getting into with the American Antique Mall. Maybe they can give you some helpful tips so you don't lose a lot of your money on what looks to be a very one-sided deal in favor of the owner. read more

Had a wonderful time roaming the Mall. Tons of things to see, lot of vintage items, jewelry and antiques. The staff is very helpful.

I opened a glass case with this mall. The case was locked and only opened by employees. I did not expect high sales starting out one must make a reputation to attract buyers. I love the ability to be artistic with the case and display my jewelry. Right away I sold a couple of nice pieces reasonably priced. I continued working on the glass display case. I added more necklaces and some color to bring out the jewelry. I was at a vendor meeting and heard that if people are having issues with theft that was not the fault of the mall or the employees. They were not going to install cameras to deter theft the vendors were welcome to install their own cameras. Stupid me thinks, "well I have a locked case I don't have anything to worry about". WRONG!! I was selling the low end priced vintage jewelry and the $100.00 earrings, gold serpentine bracelet with punk spikes (punk era) disappeared out of the case. Some really nice employees went with me to see if it fell behind displays, etc,helped me look. No luck. The STORE MANAGER stood in front of the exit dodoor slurping on her soda like a child the entiNeverme. Never even spoke with me. I told the lovely staff lady in front once I'm done inventorying all of my jewelry I will decide if I'm keeping open the display booth. I attempted to speak to the mall/store Mgr once she was rude and dismissive of my concerns 1.) Jewelry leaving case and not being listed as sold. 2) jewelry being sold not using sku# assigned by mall software 3) Neither the manager nor the staff know anything about how to use their own software. My son who in computer security was finally able to show me what they could not. The store/mall Mgr was NOT interested in seeing what I wanted to share. I made the choice to close out my case at the end of July due to the lack of vendor concerns by management. I told them I would rather donate the jewelry than allow it to be stolen from me. I have significant health problems and this was not conducive to my recovery. I'm decided to close out the booth after the AUGUST BLOWOUT SALE. This was said to the front desk staff. They acknowledged they understood nothing at that time was explained to me outside a 30 day notice was needed. I gave my 30 day notice cleaned out my case. The next month they charged me for the new month. I went in to clear up the confusion and was told you misunderstood it's 30 calender days NOT 30 work days. I'm sorry to say it was a 1) NASTY experience with the mall/store manager to bad she was not as pleasant as her staff. 2) I should have been more alert as yo why the showcases closed out as fast as they opened. 3) Take pictures of every item in the showcase as documentation that I am NOT lying about items missing from showcase. 4.) I did ask an employee if the mall felt vendors were their clients and she was unsure of that. I am willing to answer any questions people may have. read more

I was interested in a price on an item because there wasnt a tag on it. There was no employee in sight, so i had to walk to the front door area. There was a woman named Dana just standing at the register while another associate was looking down on their phone. I asked about the price of a piece of furniture and was harshly asked if I looked all over the item to try to find it. Really? No I just felt like wasting time trying to find someone to help find a price tag. She was very annoyed that I interrupted her from doing whatever she was doing (there were no customers up front). The tag was not on the item and I was told that means it was a display only. I asked if she could ask a manager and she exclaimed "I am the assistant". She had an I told you so attitude. (She's been promoted as of now) please read other reviews to see how disconnected the owners are to the staff. After she left the area, a lady walked up and said that she was a neighboring vendor and had overheard the conversation. We talked for a long time and she said she knew the vendor for the item I was looking at and offered to call the vendor to ask if it was for sale. Ended up getting the item w a discount offsite from the vendor who wouldn't have made a sale had the other vendor not offered to call the selling vendor. read more

While I certainly appreciate the effort that goes into opening a retail space as large as this, the fact is this is more of a mix of Home Goods, Michaels and Hobby Lobby (perish the thought) with some antiques and collectibles thrown in for good measure. I understand they're trying to appeal to everyone, but as someone who's on the hunt for true collectibles and/or antiques, it's a bit annoying when over half the space is dedicated to repurposed, crafty-type stuff. I don't go to an antique mall to buy homemade soaps, gourmet popcorn, hot sauce or brand new things I can get at any Big Lots down the street; I go there hoping to find unique, vintage collectibles and antiques. On the plus side, I will say the place is spotless, the booths are well organized, lighting is fantastic, and the layout is pretty understandable. When we walked in and saw how big the place is, I thought it would take us hours to go through it all. Instead, because of the high percentage of newer, flea market-type stuff, we were in and out in about 45 minutes. read more

I was pretty dissatisfied with the new Algonquin store. I had been to the one in Highland, Indiana many times and loved it! Same premice, but nicer items at the Indiana one, and more antiques. I literally only bought candy in tbe Algonquin store. This store should not be called an antique store at all! There wasn't anything upscale. Mostly thrift store junk and escalated prices on Hobby Lobby type of stuff. I know that the spaces need to be filled, but it is over run with new crafty items. When walking by the front windows, there is such a glare from the sun...that it is hard to shop without squinting. It definitely needs window coverings to help with that problem. For now, I won't be going back. Would rather travel to the Roscoe Woodstock Antique Mall to get nicer items or venture all the way to Indiana for the store in Highland. Hoping that the Algonquin location gets higher end vendors of antiques and vintage items in the future. read more

I recently visited the new Americas Antique Mall in Algonquin. This place is HUGE. Great vendors and so many things to look at. First of all the music they play puts you in a good mood from the minute you walk in the door. The booths were displayed so cute, each on an aisle named with a street name. The place was clean and lots of room to walk around each display without fear of knocking something over. (Other places I've been to were so cramped that it was hard to see what was in the space). The fun part was looking at the memorabilia that I remember having when I was growing up. It's a fun place to go browse, shop and just get out to have a nice day. The staff was great. They really looked like they enjoyed their job and that is really hard find in retail these days. Will definitely be going back! read more

NOT an antique mall the name is deceiving . The owners need to do a survey on all vendors I think they would be shocked to see the results .. NO original employees left ..from the beginning they were all helpful and knowledgeable. The manager has huge issues and is rude .I have several friends that are vendors in there! Favoritism for ON line advertising and rules for only certain people . The amount of "crafts " and stickers ruin the whole place !! The vendors pay huge rent and commission on every item !Vendors will,stay and ride the storm out when they feel welcome . Seriously the owners need to do undercover and see the TRUTH .....Get a kind well spoken manager and watch what happens. Wear good shoes walking on concrete for even a hour and you will feel the pain ! I give credit to all vendors that do,change their booth and get fresh merchandise it helps make up for other stuff that shouldn't be in there !!! read more
