I've been to this location a few times and V while the reviews aren't great, I have had mainly positive experiences. Its usually easier to get appointment times here, especially towards the end of the year when it's busy. My wait time is usually less than twenty minutes and my eye exams have gone well. The one time I ordered glasses was messy though. They told me it would be ready in a week but everytime I would call after one week passed, they said it wasn't ready and could not give me any update on the timeline. At Two weeks, I contacted corporate through email and they emailed me saying the manager said they were ready for pick up. I wonder hope long it was just sitting there. I needed some new glasses and was recommended by a friend because they were having a special. So I googled the closest location me, Duluth. While she went to the one in Snellville. I made an appointment and upon my arrival I was greeted by the receptionist as they were very nice and helpful. The doctor was very thorough and answered all of my questions. After my eye exam.. i was told to go pick out the frame I wanted. No one asked if i was find everything okay or did I need any help or anything. Once I picked the frames I wanted and was looking for some one to help me they told me to wait because people were going to lunch. I waited about 20 minutes for someone to come help me. The person that help me seemed annoyed because she wanted to leave for lunch. I was annoyed because they didn't even have a set lunch schedule the employees were asking one another who's going first and how long. Like seriously, you should have a set schedule and we gone takes lunch at different times or just closed the whole place down for lunch! However, after paying my invoice They told me it would take up to 14 business days for me to get my glasses... and here we are a month later and I still haven't gotten my glasses. I went in to do my exam on 4/25/2023. I been calling for the pass two weeks asking for an update they continued to say it has not come in yet. Today, I decided to give them another call and I got the same response, " it has not arrived yet, keep in mind it takes up to 14 business days" at this point I'm annoyed. I told the lady that it's been over a month and I still haven't gotten it. She then put me on hold, came back and said I see that you had issues with the glasses and they resent it out to get it fixed... at this point I'm even more annoyed and pissed! I calmly told her ma'am I think you're mistakenly me with someone else I have never been back at the office since my exam. She comes back on the phone and says it seems like your glasses were never sent into the lab... I asked to speak to the manager but she was not available. I was told someone will give me a call back. An hour later the manager calls me. She told me that my glasses were lost in transit and they reorders my glasses on 5/19. After that, I looked at my phone recorded and mind you I called on 5/20 and your telling me that no one called and informed me this? At this point I'm am over this place! I read reviews that they were unorganized but I still gave it a try, but after all this.. I definitely DO NOT recommend this place. We had an appointment with them in July for my son. They not only entered his phone number in the system incorrectly, but when I changed it back to my contact number over the phone, they still didn't update the information correctly. We never received notifications via phone or email and I had to call them to find out 1 pair already arrived and the other pair was on backorder. Still not receiving any updates, I sent my son over to pick them up just for them to tell him they sent the backordered pair that arrived (again we were not notified) back to the lab. We've never had these issues within the last 2 years we used them and I'm now scared to invest my money into a business that is this level of incompetent. Never again. read more

Worst customer service in the world. The receptionist needs to be fired!!! All I need is my prescription so I can replace my broken glasses. All I get is we need a fax number to send documents to. Fax? It's the 21st century time to move to email like the rest of the world. So since I don't have a fax # she said there is nothing I can do unless I come in. I live in NC. I LOVE the receptionist at the front she's so sweet and happy and has a very kind face and personality.. The whole staff is very cool but I think they really need to work on their organization of the appointments. I came at 12:45 and people that came at 1:00 are seeing the doctor before me! Come on..!!! Normally I wouldn't be so impatient but I'm on my lunch break and they said it would be a quick follow up ... very annoyed. What should of been a 10 min follow up is now over 45 min. They stack the folders randomly and the doctors don't look at who came at what time. It's just really disorganized. They need a whole new system!!!! Otherwise Doctor L.B. They are the worst eyeglass place on the planet they mess up 2 pair of my glasses then i came and dropped them off , they told me they were ready. went in only one pair was ready the other pair they lost the frame on them. I needed some new glasses so I decided to try out America's Best since they were advertising the two pair for $69.99. I have since gone there four or five times for follow-up exam, adjustments, or to pick up glasses/contacts that were ordered. My overall experience in dealing with this business has been good. I was able to make my appointment online which I loved. I was able to pick my day and my time. Also they were good about sending emails and calling as reminders for your appointment. I enjoyed how I was greeted upon entering even if there were people in front of me. As Covid precautions, they do require that you wear a mask and they do have partitions up around the receptionist desk. They also take the temperature of each guest. Whenever you try on or touch a pair of frames, you are to put them in a basket to indicate that they have been touched and then they clean them before restocking them on the wall. I thought this was a great process to have in place even though I saw people trying on frames and then just putting them back on the wall. All of the employees that I encountered were very nice and professional. On my first visit for an exam I didn't want to sit in the back waiting area as I saw some people with their masks below their nose and the area was kind of cramped (This was at their old location. They have since moved to a new location a block down Pleasant Hill off of Satellite). They did have chairs partitioned off to try to accommodate distancing but it wasn't far enough for me and so I opted to stand in the main area where the glasses are. Upon seeing this, I like that someone asked me if I was okay and I explained that I felt more comfortable standing there and there was no problem. The gentleman who helps with glasses fittings and adjustments was very efficient. America's Best offers low prices on average frames. They also have a wall of name brand frames. I was able to take advantage of the frames but the lenses are what will get you and what got me. That wallet got busted wide open... and that's with the inclusion of insurance. One ding I have is that on two of my visits it seems like there were too many people waiting to get to the receptionist (at the new location). This caused the lack of distancing and felt uncomfortable to me. I have felt that there were too many people in the building. I wish that there was a way for them to regulate this a little better. I like the new location. It is larger and more brightly lit and inviting. The parking is way tighter though since they are over there by Marshalls and other very popular stores now. Overall I'm happy with my experience with America's Best. However I would love to see them limit how many people can come inside once there is a backup. read more

I was told my glasses were ordered on March 16 2024 I call today to check status and was told the glasses were ordered on April 2 2024 and it would be 14 days before they come in. This place is trash not to mention I had my eye exam first week in March it is almost a month an a half and still no glasses. The place is chaos nobody knows anything. They advertise - 2 pair of glasses for $69. What you don't find out until after you've driven to their store is that it only applies to 13 years and younger. And what made it even worse was that one of the ladies told me, "look, it's right there in fine print". In fine print hanging on the window in the store. Not in fine print on the website or anywhere else I saw this advertised. After letting it go, I filled out some paper work and basically was rushed to choose two pair of glasses for my 16 year old without any help at all. I was told that I could choose from this rack, that rack, that rack, and so on without anyone giving us assistance. Do you know how difficult it is choosing new glasses for a 16 year old. My appointment for her eye exam had to be kept on schedule so if we didn't find anything in time, we would lose it. The exam went fine. When choosing the frames, the employee offered no assistance. It took 3 employees over an hour to place my glasses order. Two weeks later the glasses came in and they were wrong because they measured my eyes/frames incorrectly. Another employee stepped in to re-measure and also to find a more appropriate frame. She stated that she had been sent to the store to straighten it out. She told me that she would re-order the glasses. One week later I received a text that said my glasses were ready. When I went to the store they said it was a mistake and they didn't have the glasses. I waited over 3 more weeks, for a text, and finally went to the store. They stated they didn't have the glasses and didn't know where they were. They quickly offered a refund rather than fix the problem. I took the refund and no apology was ever offered. I was told to enjoy the rest of my day. NO GLASSES after 6 weeks. read more

I read the reviews and thought I would give this location a shot despite the overly proportionate negative reviews to positive reviews. However, I ended up deciding not to going because I was able to confirm the unprofessional behavior of the receptionist as provided in previous comments simply by making a couple of phone calls. When I first called on July 20th to set an appointment, the madam who answered the phone provided a standard salutation and made an grammatical error when speaking, resulting in a chuckle and then repeated the standard salutation correctly (her chuckle was followed by another individuals chuckle--clearly this is a funny situation) already unprofessional--yet I still just brushed it off. I then asked if I could have the earliest possible appointment and the madam on the phone stated that the earliest option would be July 30th. I told her "Thank you for letting me know, I think I'll try another location" and she concluded to end the conversation with a very inhospitable tone. I continued to check for other appointments online 5 minuets later from the America's Best provider website for an earlier appointment time. I then saw that the same location I just called had an appoint opening for July 21st, the following day which is clearly much earlier than July 30th. As a result of my findings, I registered online to see if the information online was as up-to-date with the information at the office. I called the morning if July 21st to confirm my appointment for that afternoon, also explaining the situation I had experienced from the day before--the lack of correct information on appointment times and my uncertainty--and it was confirmed that my appointment was still valid by the same madam who answered my phone called the day before. It's clear that this location is disorganized and unprofessional with their conduct. I will be cancelling my appointment and will not suggest this location to anyone in search of eye care. I've been with America's Best Eyeglasses for a few years. It's not always a pleasant experience being there but I was happy with the discounts and free exams for being a member. What is now my last ever experience with America's Best, happened a few months ago which is now catching up to me at this moment. I have vision insurance through my employer which covers a big cost of purchasing contacts. I specifically asked if I'm eligible to purchase contacts with my insurance, and the representative at America's Best said I was able to. A few months later (just recently) I received a mail saying I owed the remaining amount my insurance was supposed to cover, but was confused because I was confirmed months ago I was eligible. I called America's Best and the lady rudely said the claim was denied and was supposed to take it up with my insurance. I called my insurance and they said I was never eligible and had to work it out with America's Best. Now I'm stuck with a large bill with no help, and ultimately done getting services with this company. The average reviews of this place says it all. read more

Must see Dr. John Mcnees, he is the best!! My eyes had always been dry and always had a problem with irritation. Well, I followed his orders for two weeks and my eyes felt way better , my new prescription went down and I got a totally new contact lense that I can wear for a whole month. Btw get the eye care club it's saved me money , I had my for 5yrs. And it has saved me a lot of money I never had to pay if I had an infection or any complication . They take care of you. Sent my parents to this location today and they were yelled at by an aggressive manager, Terri, and had to leave. Receptionist, Lynette had told my mom she could come in and help my dad pick out the frames at the very end of his appointment. She waited outside in the cold for 1 hour only to be berated for "breaking policy" even though she was told by someone working there she could come in. Several costumers were shaking their heads and also said we overheard her say you could come in and help. Terri didn't care of course what anyone was saying and kept yelling till they left! I went to this location because it's close to my home. This was a mistake. Upon arrival we were told to go to the waiting area where we had to wait an hour to be seen. After being seen we had to go to the shopping area to pick out frames and contact lenses. The selection was minimal. The representative that helped us couldn't find our information in the system even though we pre-registered online and filled out paperwork on site. My biggest gripe is it has been over a month and I have yet to receive the TRIAL contacts. I cannot purchase my replacements until I get the trials. I've called their office everyday only to get the run around "I'm going to have the manager call you back" but no one calls me back. I was on hold for 10 minutes to see if my glasses and contacts were in. I had only gotten a pick up call for glasses. I arrive to pick up. There 3-5 people at the front desk, I was greeted by NO ONE! I had the contact lense exam. Staff was nice but the contact lense trial is painful. I've been waiting for more than 2 weeks to get my 1st trial pair. I came here to read the reviews and look like many others have the same experience. If this coming 1st trial doesn't fit, i'll need to wait another 2 weeks+ to get another pair. The staff is pretty friendly at this location, but the doctors (not so much). They couldn't care less about getting your prescription right, and I had to drive all the way to Buford to get a 2nd opinion, and come to find out, it's a good thing I did that! My prescriptions were totally JACKED, as the Duluth doctors had over-corrected for astigmatism, which one of the doctors at Duluth had actually lied about. Then I ordered 2 pair of glasses with a tint, one of them, the rose tint was almost beet red. Then the store manager, Kent, says it just depends who does the tint. Well if they're not consistently done, someone needs to retrain the people in the lab. The wait times have never been much of an issue at this location. The selection of frames are bad. The so-called 2 for $69 deals is indeed a bait & switch ponzi scheme, which like someone else complained about, is only for people with darn near 20/20 vision. If you have any strong prescriptions, they'll keep forcing you into thinner lenses, and if you need bifocals, good luck. Then they try to get you for anti-glare... and the price keeps going up and up, and you'll be spending $200 unless you have a coupon or are in the eye-care club. Mine came to over $125 for 2 pairs, almost double what they advertise. I went to Buford, got a better prescription, but ended up not thrilled about the customer service there either, so by the end of my 3 days of hell dealing with the staff there, I ended up cancelling my eye care club membership by calling the corporate office, and got my money back for the glasses. After 9 yrs of dealing with America's Best in the North Dekalb and Lithonia locations, where I never had any issues, it's a major disappointment to have had these experiences in Duluth and Buford. So goodbye to America's Best. I'll be taking my money and time to a REAL eye doctor from now on. Buyer beware. Go elsewhere! Don't get duped! read more

Be a rule follower. Don't be one of those who come into the store expecting to be seen two hours before exams shut down. To my, and the store manager's, amusement, two people walked in demanding to be seen that day. Did they call to make an appointment or book one online? No. Oh how upset they were. I found the entire process simple and clear cut. Make an appointment online. Arrive on time (5 minutes early in my case) and fill out a bit of paperwork with no complaints. Wait for about 20 minutes total between a few different eye specialists and exams. Pick out some frames which are clearly market "59.99$" and add another also marked the same price to add up a grand total of 70$. Mention the free exam to the sales representative. Pay 70$. Just be a rule-follower in general. Very simple process. Cheap frames and free lenses. Gets the job done for those seeking a fast deal. I'm not sure if you can request the second pair of glasses with a different prescription lense but it's worth a try if you want to save money on glasses for two people. read more

By far the most annoying game of musical chairs! Do not expect to just pop in and pop out quickly, not even to pick up glasses that are ready. The staff seems kind of robotic, where they follow certain procedures rather than use common sense. When I went in for my exam (contacts only), although I had an appointment, it took a couple hours to get done. What was more annoying was the ridiculous placement of where I needed to sit to have the next part of my visit completed. When you walk in, you may be asked to sit in one area to complete any necessary paperwork, then asked to sit in another area to wait for the exam. Once the exam is completed, you stand around and wait for them to call you to place an order for contacts. One of the reps told me to sit in a specific chair, but then another one told me to sit in another chair. Then you move to sit by the front of the store to actually pay for the order. When I went in to pick up my glasses, same thing. They were very specific about which chair I could sit in while I wait for my glasses. They couldn't find them for a while. I wanted to go behind the counter to find them myself. It was frustrating. read more

Meh is right! You get what you pay for I guess. Had an eye exam done here a while back without a huge hassle. Prices are fair, especially if you're on a fixed income or don't carry vision insurance. I had to call twice to ask a simple question about my prescription. First time I called I was placed on hold for 6 minutes...and then the phone disconnected. So I tried again today and after almost 20 rings (not exaggerating here people, I promise) someone finally answered the phone only to put me on hold...again. At least this guy came back to the line and answered my question. Will more than likely not be renewing my Eyecare Club membership. I will probably end up switching to Costco or Walmart. read more

While they claim to have the best price on designer lenses, I discovered after buying that they were marked up almost double what they cost other places. I had issues getting information faxed to me. They do not use email and sent me the wrong records in error. It took 2 more calls and 2.5 hours to get mine. With a high traffic area and driving far from my house blind to my appointment at 6pm to get my contacts. i called them to let them know i would be a few mins late 5 mins before due to traffic on steve reynolds. I show up in the parking lot at 6:06 and called at 6:06pm to just be told the doctor has already walked out the door and couldn't see me. They close at 7 but no doctors after 6??? I was visiting from out of state when my eyeglass lens frame peeled away from the bow. I visited the Pleasant Hill store to try to purchase a replacement frame. The sales associate, Equality, found my frame and had my lenses transferred in minutes. I had been prepared to exchange the lenses myself. Equality and the rest of the staff were both personable and professional and warrant a return visit when I need replacement eyewear. Great experience. read more
