Quality of glasses is awful. I bought two pair. Both broke around same time-just about a year later. I glued the arm pin back into the plastic frame but it doesn't hold. Then this morning, both the arm popped back off and then, the nose piece that holds glasses on your face popped off. Yes it is less expensive option but not really because the glasses are so cheap, they break just outside of a year. I am scheduling another eye exam and then order anothering 2 pair, probably 1500 $ but that 1500 will last 3-4 years from my original place I purchase quality eyeware-*my little aviator ray ban sunglasses from 10 years ago, are still in terrific condition if that rells you anything about the not terrific quality of the glasses from this place. Cheap. Positive is, staff are very very nice. Quality frames cannot be that much of a difference to opt for that cheap of frames and lose future business, can they? read more

I had a great experience here. Only 4 stars because I wish they had more "normal people" frames. Lots of large and goofy frames that I would never wear. I do appreciate the patience of everyone I encountered as I spent a long long time trying on frames and hating them all. Finally found a pair I settled on and actually like now that I'm wearing them. The manager of the store was super nice and spent quality time with us. Just seemed like such a genuine and honest guy that absolutely loves what he does for a living. He honestly made my stressful experience (I hate shopping for frames) really enjoyable. Plano location on 75. Both pair of Glasses made incorrectly twice. Contacts prescription dispensed incorrectly as well. Over 6 weeks to get corrections. Was told all errors were due to the dispensary and the long delays were due to shipping delays. The dispensary is less than 10 minutes from the store itself. Not a good experience At all. I ordered 2 pairs of glasses and one for some reason just wasn't right. They were crooked, too loose, just a real pain. I went back twice to have them adjusted and still weren't right. Today I went in and was ready to just start to DEMAND that they either fix them or send them back and get new frames etc. etc. Then I met Alan Vu, he said that they would happily do a " redo" and asked me to go pick out new frames. He then asked me for the defective glasses , he wanted to see for himself. After some time and discussion, he asked me to try them again. Nope still crooked, he kept at it... This is my favorite location to get all my eyewear and contacts. The location is very clean and covid conscious. Everyone is wearing a mask and they make you sanitize your hands when you come in the door. Even when you try on glasses, they give you a bin to try them on and are sure to sanitize after every person's use. Yesterday I was serviced by Luis and he was very speedy with everything! It was some things I didn't understand but he helped me and made an easy process! He also shared a coupon with me. Thank you so much Luis for the help! I read reviews people stating they will charge you the eye exam even with insurance. I wasn't worried because I checked with my insurance company beforehand. What happened after my eye exam? They said I owed them $99.00. I refused to pay it and told them I will contact my insurance company. They didn't give me what my prescription will be until I get it figured out. Very unprofessional. Eye exam is quick. The person doing my exam was extremely fast (almost too quick). I went and now don't even know what prescription glasses I'm supposed to look into. This place seems like a scam. I'm not quite sure why there are so many bad reviews. This does not reflect my experience at all. I have been coming to America's best (this specific location) for about a year now. I've gotten glasses & contacts, personally I order my glasses from a different site online. But all in all the ladies that work here are sooo respectful to me and my daughter when we come in. The employees are so incredibly patient and sweet. When I came in, a customer was very disgruntled and literally screaming at employees about how ugly their stock was. America's Best- I don't know where to begin the Optometrist was quick, pleasant, and he remembered me from last year. As I leave his room office I know I'll be headed to lunch with my friend soon. Happy days. Quite wrong... once the front office personnel is ready to focus on me, 20 minutes slipped away. No copy of my prescription. I must wait for it and there's FOUR in front. I recall traveling via Greyhound and the bus terminal- America's Best simply will let no customer leave without their salespeople giving the customer a thorough once over. This is a hostile approach. From another part of the room, and about an hour earlier, I listened as a salesperson tried to coerce my 24 yo son to buy glasses and/or contacts. If you need to see an affordable optometrist, or you just need a quick appointment time, stop buy and give them a try. BUT ALSO REMEMBER THAT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. So in a packed America's Best I vent and feel much better. read more

Previously been to Frisco location and changed to Plano as it was closer to my work. They twice cancelled my appointment, which was very inconvenient. When I eventually got there, the optician was great but their sales associates were not customer focused. No assistance offered in selecting frames or to even ask if I needed help. My associate was not familiar with the computer system and did not explain my lens choices. I had to ask multiple questions so I could make a decision. I understand the need for learning a new position but she had to ask someone senior to help, who was vocally upset as she wanted to leave. No notification of my glasses being ready to pick up. Only when I called I found out I could get them. When I got there, the associate simply handed them to me and asked if I wanted to try them on. Of course they needed adjusting to fit, but again, no assistance or guidance offered. When I explained where they were not fitting correctly, it was almost an inconvenience to try and rectify. Final straw was being offered a 10 cent felt case to put glasses that are a few hundred dollar into. No offer of a better case to protect them until I asked. Wow! This location does not care about customer service. I truly felt like an inconvenience to the staff. I will not return here, and would not recommend to anyone else. read more

Our daughter went in for a simple contact exam. The exam went smooth and quickly. The checkout process was a mess. The person we got was in training and obviously needs more. They didn't have the contacts in stock and was told they would be mailed in 7-10 days. I asked if they could check another location and a second person seemed to be annoyed. We also had to remind them about insurance and was told we didn't have insurance when we definitely do. "we can't call the insurance company". I had to call VSP myself and then was told they are out of network. We have been going to this location for years and have not never been told that. Only one person seemed to know what they were doing. We will not be going back there again. Please train your personal better if you plan on keeping your customers. Very disappointed. read more

At my eye appointment the waiting room was backed up and the lady that did my eye exam was in such a rush that when I couldn't differentiate between two of the slides on my eye she got frustrated with me and literally said "Do you want a stigmatism or not on your prescription?" Long story short I ended up with the wrong prescription and had to go to a different location to get a second exam and my glasses prescription corrected. I had to speak to 3 different employees Maria Blanca and finally Ashley, had to stay on the phone with them the last time to ensure they sent over my records as they kept promising they would but never did. In the time they waisted with me I was at the white rock location and they took care of 12 customers they need some training from white rock location seriously! I would leave 0 stars if there was an option. My first experience here was unpleasant. I spent over 2 hours just trying to pay for my glasses, because they were training a new employee. A year went by and now it's time for my annual exam. I tried to be understanding and give this location a second chance. Today, I had an appointment at 5:50 pm. I decided to show up at 4:45 pm to fill out my paperwork. I stepped outside to answer a phone call, came back inside and the receptionist told me to go back to the back. I sat and waited 30 minutes before asking how much longer it would be, only to be told that the doctors had checked out and I had to reschedule. Complete scam... the whole special that they advertise on TV is completely false... you come in and get your eyes examined and then while doing that they try to sell you another test that they claim is very important, you see the doctor, then you pick out your frames. You pay that lower amount but when you come in 2 weeks later to pick up your glasses you have to pay the rest which for me was over $127... The first time I called this location to see if they had my contacts in stock they said they did, but they did not when I went to pick up. I had asked for them to deliver contacts to my home (to hopefully avoid picking them up) they were never delivered. I called the store again and they said they would have them delivered to the store and would call when they would be ready. They never called me. I called the store to see if they could print off a paper copy of my prescription and they said they would have that ready for me for pick up. I went to the store and asked if my contacts had ever been delivered. At first they said they couldn't find them, but then looked up my info on the computer and the receptionist was able to find them. (Why wouldn't she just look up my info in the first place and then check in the back?) I asked the receptionist to print off a copy of my script and she then asked if I had my exam at the location. I said I think so. She then said that I did not have it at that location and that I would need to go to another location to get my script. I said thank you and walked out. Needless to say, this location lacks organization, follow up and training. While the staff is nice, they simply do not know what they are doing and I can no longer trust this location to be accountable. America's Best surely did not live up to its name this time, but I hope they eventually do. Unfortunately I will not be back. read more
