Well I kind of put it off till now just due to scheduling conflicts on my end. My company sent me overseas a couple of times and I just didn't get around to handling this. I finally went to see the doc today. Pulling up to the practice, it looked like an abandoned lot to be honest. Well that might be a stretch but just to give sort of a contrast from outside view to inside. I was telling the front office person that I had to circle around the place a couple times to make sure I got the location right. Well needless to say, I was surprised when I walked in. Completely different atmosphere. Ambiance was reminiscent of another medical practice I've visited in the past. I was right on time for my first-time appointment. I was kind of surprised as I didn't have to fill out any forms or anything. Of course I wasn't coming in for an eye examination or anything like that but to be honest.. this was interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if they contacted me later to fill out forms but regardless, just wanted to bring that up. I didn't wait long at all. I was shown straight to a room. Waited for a bit so I entertained myself by reading the last line of the eye chart inside the room multiple times. Dr. Wright came in and was very engaging and easy to talk to. He went into depth the causes of why my eyes were inflamed and was very patient with explaining anything that I needed explaining. I didn't feel rushed at all. He gave me the most ideal and practical treatment which I would've asked for had he not suggested it so I'm very glad that he covered the bases before I had to ask. This lets me know hey.. if I ever come in for a check-up of a different sort.. I can trust and be rest assured that the diagnosis and treatment he offers would be the most ideal for me. He was helpful in answering all of my questions and supplying me with the necessary eye drops to keep the disease in check. Two years ago, I moved to Rowlett and the drive became a bit much and I requested that he suggest another doctor in the Rowlett/Rockwall area that I could visit to continue my glaucoma treatments. At the same time, I discovered that my insurance company quit approving the medication that I needed to help me continue. Dr Deloach offered to petition and fight the insurance company for the medication that I need, so I will continue to make the drive for such amazing support. The entire staff at Plano Eye is friendly and courteous, the office is kept in clean and top notch condition and the glasses/frames area where you pick out your frames is abundant and easy to navigate. I will continue my relationship with the Plano Eye staff for as long as I need an eye doctor.

But as he is now so booked, I tried a different doctor for my severe dry eyes. After checking me she recommended what she called an IPL treatment and I said if she'd look at my records she'd see I'd already tried those and they didn't work, but that I'd tried an RF treatment a long time ago and got some relief. So we booked an RF Treatment. When I went for it, I was told it often takes 3 or 4 treatments and they can be 6 months apart. After 2 months I still had lots of burning and so I went back to the same doctor for a follow up. She looked at me and suggested a couple of products to use (she forgot to give me a printout so I don't know what they were) and said I could try another RF but I'd already had 2. I said no, I'd had 1. She argued with me until I proved to her she hadn't looked closely at my record and she was thinking I'd had one in Jan '26, but it was actually Jan '25. So she booked a second one. Then when I showed up and they had me back in the chair, I realized they were prepping me for an IPL, not an RF. I don't know whether the doctor was simply careless in the booking, or decided to book an IPL not having looked at my records. Either way, the carelessness is very disquieting. And their website will no longer recognize my email or password, and there is no way to correct it without just calling them. For a group with such advanced eye technology, the website is truly pathetic.

Today an assistant did all the routine stuff like eye chart,glacoma test etc. I usually don't like assistants doing what I think the Dr should be. However,in this case, it felt ok and she did a great job. In addition, she did a test that maps your retina, which id never had done before. For those who dont know this is essentially a picture of the internal components of your eye. The reason they presented for this valuable test is, it can show early signs of problems and treatment can be implemented to make things better. It was optional but, I opted in and am glad I did. Dr, Harris then came in and reviewed the assistant's results, did a few checks himself, explained things and I was done. He is a very thorough and personable optometrist. Today I went for eyeglasses adjustment because my nose pads weren't symmetrical and one nose pad is touch my eyelid. Ricky one staff member came out to help me with it but only use an intimidating behavior to his satisfaction and convinced me that it seems perfect for him. I asked if he can use a tool instead of just his fingers for adjustment but Ricky insisted that his finger is a tool and the right tool. I felt my ears were so hot from high blood pressure and my stomach was cramping. It wasn't a good morning experience for an eyeglass adjustment.
