Would give a minus star if I could. First day when we walked into there was un-flushed urine in toilet, floor was dirty, wet and slimy. Tub needed to be replaced, looked like it had been mended poorly. No bathmat, no washcloths. The other bathroom linens were shabby and unraveling. Very humid in the room though air conditioner worked. Loud, yelling, young people running up and down halls, knocking on random doors, loud activity til 1:00 am. Next night back to our room, there were ants in the bed. Moved to another room and the room was occupied and in a mess. Went back to front desk. Gave us another room at opposite end of building upstairs. We had been on first floor due to my disability. No offer to help us move to the room. In the new room, refrigerator was rusted inside, dirty and freezer had frosted over, so it was unusable. Will NEVER stay here again! read more

This hotel is a nice spot to lay your head after a long day of shopping. We have stayed here the past few years on an annual trip to the outlet mall. The rooms are spacious and clean. They have a microwave and mini fridge in them which is very convenient. The front desk staff is very quick to respond when you need something. WiFi is not very good though so don't plan on working from your room (Specifically 217- couldn't even get the network to show up). During non-covid times they offer a continental breakfast that is a nice touch before heading out to shop some more! read more

Beware, if you want to check in around the late afternoon, no one will be at the service desk to check you in. We waited 30 minutes for someone who was working and do one arrived. Called the front desk twice and heard the phone ring with no one to answer. Rang the bell for service and no one came. We ended up booking a room at America's Best Value Inn Birch Run after reading reviews on bringfido.com since we were planning to travel with our dogs. Upon check-in, there was an added fee for bringing our dogs which wasn't included in the original price. I realize this is something that can happen with hotel bookings with pets, but thought I should add it to make others aware. The fee is reasonable ($15 per pet per night). The room was old, but clean and beds were comfortable. It also seems that they are very understaffed and doing the best they can. If you want to have your room cleaned, you have to let the front desk know before 10 AM that day to get on a house keeper's schedule. When traveling with pets, we really appreciated this and gave us peace of mind that no one would accidentally enter the room for cleaning. The property has a large area to walk dogs that is a safe distance from the road. Be aware that many people did not clean up after their dog if you stay here and watch your step. The hotel is a good location and easy drive between the Birch Run outlets (5 minutes) and Frankenmuth (10 minutes). read more

We needed a dog friendly affordable hotel that was clean & comfortable & we found it here. It was recently updated so that was good. The room was small but doable. It had 2 queen size beds, 1 chair 46"( I think) flat screen mounted on the wall. A 4 drawer dresser. A microwave & small fridge that were both clean. The bathroom was small but also clean. Plenty of towels & house keeper service if requested which we did not. All the employees we had contact with were pleasant. I really have no complaints. My friend & I were looking for a reasonable motel near the Birch Run Outlet mall & Frankenmuth, Mi. The price was good ($105.00) for a Friday night, 2 queen beds. The outlet mall is less than a mile away & Frankenmuth, about 5 miles. The room was reasonably clean, with the exception of the refrigerator top. Totally dusty. But the bedding was clean. The towels were clean, no musty smell, but on the dingy side. A free breakfast came with the room, but left much to be desired. If you're watching your carbs, you'll want to go out to breakfast! Cold cereal, (all sugary brands), muffins, bagels, toast, waffles, & bananas. That's it! Coffee , milk & juice for beverages. At least offer hard boiled eggs, or more fruit, or yogurt, anything else would be a great addition. Would have given 4 stars, but the dingy towels & "free" breakfast brought my rating down. I would stay again due to great location for shopping & decent price & cleanliness. read more

This is a terrible establishment. I had this room booked for two weeks in advance, yet when I get there I have to wait for my room. What makes this even worse is that there were people coming into the hotel without a reservation who were being immediately served and taken to their rooms. The hotel was decent in itself, but the staff were terrible. What makes it even worse is that I was charged twice for my stay here and they refuse to help or give me any of my money back. Don't believe the bad reviews if you're not picky. This hotel was clean, there were NO bugs (bed nor roach) and the staff was very friendly. It was cleaner than my actual house which I do try pretty hard to maintain, lol! Not sure how other people have had such bad luck here. The only thing lacking for me was the breakfast. There was no protein, all carbs, and the milk and cream cheese were sitting out for hours on end (made my friend's stomach hurt but I was fine.) We stayed a Friday AND Saturday night and heard NOTHING from the hallway or other rooms. It was quiet. If anything I apologize, we were the ones coming home from the bar at 1 in the morning and might've been a little noisy. There's only stairs to get to the second level but I'm sure accessible rooms are on the first floor. The hot tub was nice, there's also a sauna, we didn't use it though. Prices were very reasonable. Rooms were clean and employees were friendly. My only complaint was the side entrance had a broken lock so the door could not latch which opens the place up to security issues. Appears to be a safe location. Subsequent to our first stay, they've opened 2 other places that I can think of... If $20 isn't too much to spare the other joints are probably nicer and the pool has to be a better option. 2 years ago when we first stayed, my kids were not huge into the pool. Now they are and the small hot tub isn't ideal. The breakfast is free and the beds are comfy. The staff is nice. It is quiet. But there is someone out back with a long extension cord plugged in to an outdoor outlet living in his truck. read more

Very thin walls. Very old and often broken infrastructure. Wouldn't recommend staying here on a weekend as it gets very busy and also loud from hearing people in the hallway. I like the updated look to the rooms but this stay made me realize that I won't be back :( read more

Got there for a late check in, on we in the room were noticed a white stain on the wood looking floors all throughout very unclean looking, than in the tub a used empty bottle of shampoo, someone's short hairs, and used bar of soap, and insert the fridge something gray and disgusting. Couldn't get a change of rooms since they were booked to late to get the cleaning crew in to do the job they should of already. Americas Best Value Inn Birch Run - That's what was left in the shower stall for us - Hotels Near Me - Birch Run, Michigan

This hotel isn't terrible especially when you book for $80 on Thanksgiving. The parking lot is easy to find, the location is right off the highway and close to all the amenities of Frankenmuth and Birch Run. There is a small hot tub and sauna for use anytime day or night with your room key. There is no elevator but there are only two floors so getting upstairs isn't super difficult. We will not be using the Continental Breakfast as we have other plans, but it's a small room in the lobby which from what I can see is pretty standard. There is a coffee station in the lobby as well. I have enjoyed my stay at this hotel but I don't think I will be back next time. The check in process was quite an affair, there was a long line and the front desk people were taking their sweet time, causing us to nearly miss our dinner reservation in Frankenmuth. The staff was friendly and they allow dogs here which you definitely don't see everywhere. However, the TVs are small and have basic programming and the appliances (microwave, heating and cooling unit) are loud when in use. Great for a one night stay especially if you're tight on cash but will be staying somewhere else next time. read more

First time staying at an American Best Value Inn and we were not disappointed. We booked through Expedia and check-in was fast. The clerk on duty was very friendly and welcoming. Rooms were very clean (even smelled clean) and everything looked new. Our room was on the small size but for a place to sleep, it was perfect. The beds were comfortable and the premises was quiet all night. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We did not partake of the Continental Breakfast but it smelled wonderful and there were lots of other guests who were eating there. The cost of the room was half of what we've been paying for the more well known motels. We had a television, microwave, coffee pot with selection of coffees, hair dryer and refrigerator. Internet was at 5 bars and free. Whatever cable service they used, it had plenty of channels. All in all, this is a less expensive alternative for a great night's sleep. read more

America's Best Value Inn has an iffy reputation for quality so my wife and I were hesitant at first but decided to book at Birch Run instead of Frankenmuth because of the very good Google rating.  The location is very easy to find off the highway and parking seemed sufficient.  The front door is a little different because the building doesn't have the automatic double opening doors like most modern hotels.  While this is definitely not a deal breaker,  it was something that I took note to.  More interestingly and noteworthy is the 4.2 Google rating showing on the glass partition connected to the front door, as well as, an application advertising as a dog friendly hotel on Bring Fido. The lobby was small but welcoming, with a few places to sit, a wall-mounted TV turned on and free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate available.  The front desk employees were very friendly and courteous.  This building has no elevator;  We walked up a flight of stairs to get to our room on the second floor.  I did notice immediately that the hallway carpet was stained and the hallway had more of that cheap motel feeling than the front desk and lobby displays.  The room was a little difficult to get into.  This was our first experience with only having to place our room card over the top of the door handle to scan; which provides a very weird experience, and feeling of a much more modern experience than the stairs and hallway did.  The room itself was comfortable enough to justify the best price for booking near Frankenmuth.  Two queen size beds with a desk separating them, and lamps with outlets.  There was a microwave and a very dinged up mini fridge in a black, dresser/bureau/entertainment center type piece of furniture directly in front of the beds.  The TV was noticeably small in comparison, not centered, and didn't move for better viewing from either bed.  Unless you don't have cable television, the programming is very standard for a hotel and won't keep you glued to the room.  The beds were comfortable enough for overnight and would be sufficient for staying a couple of nights.  The temperature control unit found on the wall mounted radiator/air conditioner did a great job at keeping the room cool and wasn't loud.  The bathroom was very light colored and spacious enough for 1-2 people.  The shower was standard with a hard to change settings head and the usual curved bar.  The toilet seat needed the most attention as I had to push against it twice to make sure that it stayed up.  We had enough towels for three of us and the front desk staff even gave my daughter 2 toothbrushes.  The only thing that I really noticed that I would change is having a locking handle on the door.  We decided not to eat at the Continental breakfast or use the pool/spa(hot tub) since we went to a water park in Frankenmuth.  Given the sufficient accommodations, friendly staff, great location, and value price point; my family would definitely stay at America's Best Value Inn Burch Run again. read more

It's just over the freeway and the walk might be tough. The rooms were spacious, clean, updated. "Pool" isn't really a pool but more of an oversized hot tub. I have stayed in much worse for more money. Beds were new. Rooms had fridges and microwave. Can't give a 5 star because it's just not a 5 star hotel. read more

Good, but not great. Rates are a bit high for a "value" motel/hotel. We stayed two nights, the beds were clean (white bedspreads so easy to tell if dirty) and the room was overall in good shape. Wifi cuts out a lot, and the TV/cable turned itself off a lot and/or phased out. They have a hot tub, but we didn't try it, so not rating as a plus or a minus there. Beds were comfortable, and there was no smoke smell inside the building at all. A/C worked great. Breakfast included everything you'd expect from a continental buffet, and a nice large room with TV's on the news to eat in. I'd definitely come back here if I had to come back to Birch Run. This Inn was really a great value for an amazing price. We came to town unfortunately when they had their city "BIG ASS GARAGE SALE" at the convention center and a huge extravagant wedding for someone on the same day. So we were DESPERATE for a room. Upon the hubby mentioning the name, we were all horrified about what we would discover. However, the rooms were clean, they came with a fridge, coffee, and microwave (i've had to ask for a fridge from places like Holiday Inn Express) so to discover one was already in our room was amazing. The beds were clean and the pillows were nice and comfortable. They had the generic loud as AC units but the room was on the backside of the hotel so we got a lot of shade. I would definitely come back if in the area. And for a short (one day) stay, i'd say it really was a great value. Extra plus, they have complimentary breakfast, i don't know what it includes since we skipped it, from 7am - 10am. Pretty good deal! read more

There are some many things that made me wish I never stayed at this hotel. First walking to my room the entire hallway smelt like weed. Second I wasn't even there for an hour before I was disturbed by the sound of a cop banging on someone's door with and warrant for their arrest and if that wasn't good enough soon after a medical response team showed up to the hotel I don't know exactly what happened but that's just not the environment I thought I was going to be staying in. The hot tub is about the size of a bath tube and looks disgusting. The breakfast was also a disappointment you have to stand in a line waiting on other people for a breakfast that looks like it was made in a microwave. I couldn't sleep through the night because I could here everything that was happening in the hall outside of my room not only that but someone kept banging on the wall next to mine all night. I will never be staying at this hotel again this was one of the worst places I've ever stayed. I can't comprehend how this hotel got a 8.5 star rating it's more of a 6. read more

I stay at this location 5 or 6 times a year in room 130 which is a two queen suite. On my last review I said that the TV was way to small for a room that size. Well the fine staff at the inn took action and put in a 50 inch TV it had a great picture and was easy to see in the large suite. This is, by far, one of the nicest "cheap" hotels I've ever stayed at! I was able to reserve a room with 2 queen beds (not those tiny doubles you get at most hotels) via www.trivago.com for only $55/night + tax. The beds seemed clean & were comfortable! We doubled up on pillows & had a good night sleep! No noise through walls, though vehicle traffic was a bit loud but not unbearable. The bathroom was clean (aside from the 1 unknown hair on a hand towel - hense the 4 stars, not 5). The TV had a lot more channels than most (which the kids liked). We didn't get a chance to eat breakfast but went up the road to Tony's (which was filling). If we're ever in the area again needing a hotel, we'll definitely be staying here! read more

I spent two nights here for my sister's wedding and the Frankenmuth Oktoberfest. It's definitely not fancy, but was very clean. The staff are extremely friendly as well. "Downtown" Birch Run was also surprisingly nice with the outlets and lots of restaurants. Overall a very pleasant stay in Birch Run. read more
