My wife checked us in tells me we out back we get to the parking lot this shit looks like some homeless place the paint chipping from the ceiling garbage under the stars to go up to our room. So we go into our room from first look it appear to be clean WRONG! Floor was nasty and dirty. Door looks weak the lock looks weak as well they removed the chain from the door. Positives: I booked online and got the best price in town. When I arrived, the 2 men in the office were very cordial. That was the Full extent of the positive experience. The negatives: The property is scary. It looks like a crime scene waiting to happen. There was only 1 vehicle in the parking lot. I asked about it and was told that most people staying there don't have cars and that 18 rooms were occupied. What does that imply? I was immediately uneasy being there. I booked online and it was non refundable. They showed me the room which was minimally basic. As I walked through the room I felt "dirty" and the floor was a little sticky. Being that I paid online, and I could not get a refund, I went back to the office, and checked in. As I walked to my car, the uneasy feeling got even stronger. It was like I was at the Bates Motel. I immediately left to visit my dad at the local hospital. While there, I asked some local people if there was a decent hotel around and was referred to the Best Western Plus Executive Residence hotel which was about 3 minutes from the hospital and only 5 dollars more per night booking online. What a huge and pleasant difference.. it was incredibly nicer, safer, cleaner, and in a whole different class. They had a really nice continental breakfast and the room was great. Full disclosure, I decided to simply lose the non refundable money i spent for the "Bates" (Americas Best Value Inn) and did not go back there. Instead, I stayed at the Best Western Plus Executive Residence; which is so much nicer. When I woke the next morning, I called the scary and sub par Americas Best Value Inn to "check out" (even though I decided not to stay there) to make sure I wouldn't be charged for additional days. The woman clerk who answered was not pleasant. She made a small issue of the fact that I didn't leave the key card in the room, and I told her that I didn't go back there last night, didn't use the room at alln and that i would pay for the card. She said because I paid this party she couldn't charge me, and Hung up on me. AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID. read more

Don't like to gamble? Then don't stay here. They turned us away even though we had a reservation AND "confirmation" number; clearly, (actually admittedly,) they had deliberately overbooked, and then deleted our reservation from their records. Woman at the desk said, "I'm not responsible to help you get a room." I said, "Actually, at this point, it is your ONLY responsibility. Get on the horn and call around to other local motels and find us a room." She refused even this most basic professional courtesy. Worse, we had arrived after hiking 12 miles on the Schuylkill River Trail and were hence, carless. Most appalling lack of service in recent memory. P.S. Its was nicer than price would lead you to believe. Clean sheets, towels, extra soap. Room was good size and had nice newer flat screen TV. Free coffee cereal and cinnamon buns in the morning. If i was in the area i would have no problem staying again. read more

This hotel is under new management, and it is so much better than before! The staff is so kind and helpful. I felt like I was welcome!

Day 1. On Friday, July 20, 2018 we arrived a little late to Americas Best Value Inn in Pottstown, PA. We had a reservation for three nights. When we arrived we attempted to make contact with the front desk clerk about our reservation to check in. Because we were choosing to pay by debit, the clerk asked for the PIN number for the card. When my wife wouldn't give her the PIN to her debit card, the clerk then proceeded to YELL at my wife and threaten us telling us that she wouldn't allow us to stay in the hotel unless we gave her the PIN number to the debit card. We, under duress at this point, gave her the PIN number. It was 11:20 at night with four children in tow and there were no other known hotels available. The clerk at this point tried to run the card three times without success. Then she finally decided to let my wife inside to complete the transaction.After this ordeal, my wife was in tears. Day 2. We woke up in time for breakfast thinking that we could perhaps get a decent meal before leaving for the day. We dress the kids and go for breakfast. I'm not sure what the definition of a continental breakfast is, but I'm sure there is more to it than what was offered. When we got to the breakfast area, we only found coffee, bread for toast, and mini muffins. There was a cereal dispenser in the area with milk in the fridge. We decided to grab mini muffins and toast for the babies. When we go to get butter, it was in a huge, almost empty tub in the fridge. There was no jam, jelly, peanut butter or anything. Then we depart and go get ready for the day. We change the babies and then let them on the floor to crawl around. Within three minutes, the babies hands and feet were BLACK. The carpets were so dirty, that taking a shower would have been absolutely pointless because the minute you walked on the carpet your feet would get filthy again not to mention the black ring around the bathtub. Had an emergency around 11pm last night 11/6/2021. Had to leave the house and get a hotel really close by. We booked 3 rooms through #hotwire . When we (me, my sister, my 2 nieces, and 4 children) arrived my sister recieved her 2 rooms. I'm in line behind her and the lady at the front desk said we don't have any more rooms. I said I made my reservation the same time as my sister. She told me hold on, asked for my name and said "Ok, here you go". I finally recieved my keys around midnight. We all go up to our rooms to get settled. After about a half hour, my daughter said "Mom, that's a roach!" It was alive and crawling. We sprayed it. After a few more minutes, another one, then another one. At this time, it's late, they have no more rooms, and the little one's were settled in bed. We couldn't go back to the house, or separate due to other obligations. We stayed up all night. They were crawling on our headboard, dressers, walls, everything. Early the next morning I headed out to handle the situation at the house. I called the Hotel and explained to them that their room (225) was infested with roaches and the guy (Chris) explained they had a no refund policy. He was very rude and told me to call hotwire. This hotel was not sanitary at all nor did I feel safe while staying there. The main light in the room did not work and there was either mold or some kind of dark dirt on the wash towels. There was a cockroach scurrying on the wall to the right of me when I was brushing my teeth that I observed. The bathtub and walls and bathroom sink had blood and fecal stains on them. The room temperature was uncomfortably hot and there was no way to adjust the temperature, as the A/C unit did not work either. Overall, not a good experience and I would hope that management would have tended to these basic issues - especially in the middle of a Pandemic. There was a woman screaming at the top of her lungs at 2am for almost a solid hour. She sounded like she was under extreme duress. Rather than stay for the entire of the night I left early to stay at another hotel - DO NOT STAY HERE - will be reporting this place to the Health Department as other people who were staying in our same group had the same experience and also left early. read more

I booked well in advance of my stay. I had my pets with me. The charge was not $10 per room. The charge was $10 per pet per night - not exactly what was advertised. The parking lot was tiny. Garbage overflowed the dumpster. There are weekly and monthly rentals and the people renting are loud. The room appeared to be clean, but it turned out the carpet was dirty (as evidenced by the bottoms of my socks blackened) and the floors that were not carpeted had not been mopped before the room was rented. The refrigerator had no shelves and was loud. There was no coffee pot in the room. The shower curtain rod was broken, as though someone had been swinging from it. The shower curtain could not be closed. The tub was stained from cigarette burns. The towels had black stains on them. There were incense sticks stuck in the walls, in the light switches - anywhere there was a space. The wi-fi password was not provided nor did there appear to be anywhere to get ice. The door lock needed to have the keycard replaced three times. Overall it was a shelter. A good thing that I was provided to camp. read more
