I don't know how you forget the cheese on onion soup, after all that's the central component, but once they put the cheese on it was absolutely phenomenal! It had a very rich broth and was not salty, as some of them can be. I will repeat that it was outstanding. The salad needed a magnifying glass to find the components aside from arugula. Butternut squash was chopped up ridiculously small, as were the pecans and whatever else was in there. It was basically a plate of arugula. For $18. I keep harping on the price because I can't believe that I had soup and salad for $40! My friend did enjoy her Chicken Francais. It was a large portion and she ate every bite. If I want something light, I will stop in again for that soup. There are many good places in Skippack, so I'm not sure I would come back for another reason.

We started the planning process back in 2018 and because of covid, we had to delay the actual event. Over the last three years, Hasmik stayed in contact and remained flexible with our date given the pandemic. It sounds cliche, but we really could not have asked for a better planning partner who listened to every detail about what we wanted for the big day. We were able to host a tea ceremony before the wedding and Hasmik made sure that it was a separate, but wonderful decorated space. It came out beautifully. We were also able to have our beloved pets, Teddy and Daisy, by our side almost the entire day. We were able to tuck them away in a room when it was dancing party time. Throughout the actual event day, she assured us that she would take care of everything so that we could focus on HAVING FUN. we did just that. Oh by the way, their food was out of this world! How many wedding have you been to where you can say that? Every single one of our guests commented on how amazing the food was. One Hope Winery was there to do a tasting and the finger foods, pizza and milkshakes were delicious! Stayed the night in the Victorian Suite, and the bed was so comfy and the room cozy with a feel of the past! Breakfast was delicious with more historical information shared by one of the owners! But the best was the Mystery Dinner later that day! An event where everyone showed up in character and you played a part all the way to the end! So much laughter! So much fun! The food was again delicious and the desert cakes are still on my mind! I highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast! Daphne, Paul and Sherry were fantastic hosts! My review is from a stay in January 2025. *^* The Mainstay Inn is a small independently owned hotel in the heart of Phoenixville's commercial corridor - picture an area with great restaurants, breweries, shops, and the legendary Colonial Theater. That is its most valuable draw, as there are no other hotels around - the closest is 2 miles away. I reserved a room, as a local, because the colonial had an all day movie festival that ended at 10:30 PM. Oh, and it was snowing. I parked in the adjacent city owned lot. The hotel has a small number of spots behind the building and they fill up. The room was very clean , though dated. Actual room keys! Patterned bedspread! It was small, as in no chair or desk or whatever. My room faced the parking lot. I was impressed that it was quiet. I felt safe and comfy. The next morning I had muffins & fruit & tea from their breakfast bar before checking out. Staff were professional and friendly. It's a comfy, quiet small hotel in an unbeatable location. Thru are probably already sold out for Blobfest next year - it's that perfect. If you're looking for expansive space and luxury amenities, it may not be for you. With this being a Motel I wasn't expecting much, but after the belligerent and very rude treatment…read morethat I received after trying to speak with the front office representative it has led me to post my honest review. Upon first glance while lights were off, the room seemed decent however, after turning on the lights, I noticed dead bugs on the bed cover, AC unit and even some areas of the floor. After pulling back the decorative sheet with dead bugs, I noticed that there was crumbs and unknown specs on the bed, and then upon pulling back that layer, I noticed some hair and staining. This was accompanied by hair found on the bathroom floor, a dirty fridge door and a mediocre cleaned microwave that was seemingly the least of our worries. This was a day motel stop after a very long night of driving from a trip out of state. After noticing these issues, I walked to the front office only to request new sheets to which the woman had a slight attitude and then told me that there was no bugs in the room without even coming to take a look. I ensured her there was to which she kept being defensive and then gave me keys to another room telling me that I should just take my stuff out of the room and go to another that she had given me the key to to which I complied. After taking the keys, I want to go check out the other room given that our first room wasn't in a favorable state, but I didn't want to just be stuck with a room worse than what we already had. The second room that she had given me key to the bed coverings were significantly cleaner however the room smelled so strongly of cigarette smoke that I could not stay in the room. I went back to the front office to disclose this and just get some fresh sheets and that's when the woman started stating that she would kick us out of our room that she gave us a "discount" on. Because I went alone to change the sheets, she then started making very distasteful comments saying that because I was the one who directly paid for the room, I shouldn't have a say, and or be picky of the state of the room, she also started getting very loud basically screaming telling me that I'm being difficult and that there's nothing wrong with the room because she's the one who cleans it, but didn't even step foot in the room to look and see what I was talking about, she kept trying to talk over me and kept insisting that because it's 8 AM there's no reason why I should be being this difficult when all I wanted from the start was fresh sheets. I never asked for her to change my room, especially knowing that we're only gonna be here for literally a couple of hours. Not even spending the night and after seeing the state of the room and her disgusting attitude towards me as a person I would not recommend to stay to anyone. I'm not a person who usually leaves reviews, but given such distasteful, dismissive, and very disrespectful treatment I felt this review was very necessary for those looking for a convenient and enjoyable experience because this was anything but that for me.
