I rented a unit here for almost 3 years with the management changing 3 Times. I had no issues until…read morethe current management came in. The rent did gradually increase from $60 to $82 dollars. The last rate increase happened while they were doing move in for $50.00 on ANY UNIT. When I complained about the rent hike they said the $50 was move in only for the first 3 months and after that certain units will GO UP. Not pleased on how I was treated by the new management when I have been a good tenant. Just wanted to share my experience with parents and students that are looking to rent a storage unit.

Nacogdoches Self Storage has terrible service and no one should ever use this place! The month of…read moreFebruary they charged me a late fee without giving me a call because my card didn't work. I came in and spoke with them asking why I was being charged a late fee and why didn't they give me a call first. I pay my bills always on time. I had recieved a new card in the mail and wasn't aware the old one wasn't working on their system. No one called me, email, or anything. Apparently starting March they did a rental increase that they never told me about when I got a unit there that it'd ever increase. Never was notified by mail, email, or phone. I went into the office today the lady who's apparently assistant manager told me that they have no manager at that location and no one could give me a call. Don't make a bad decision like I did using this place I trusted!

Wish I hadn't rented from them. First, this company tried to…read morerent a roughly 4' wide unit as a 5x10. The young lady argued with me about it - said they measured it. It wasn't until I went to move in that I noticed an open unit that was truly a 5 x10. And luckily for me a man (presumably the owner) was there and he corrected it. 2nd, they sold me a lock that jammed every time I locked it and tried to remove the key. They had to get "approval" to take it back. Like there should have been a question about whether you should take it back. Lastly, I bought some supplies from them - boxes, tape and a small stretch wrap roll. I didn't use the stretch wrap and attempted to return it. ALL other places take back unused materials. They refused to take it back even though it was in new, unused condition with the receipt. The young lady pointed to the receipt that says "sales non-refundable". I had not seen that but I am curious... how would I have known that before actually buying items and then receiving the receipt. I didn't see that notice in the office and no one mentioned it. Even after I expressed that I wasn't sure what I needed but wanted to make sure I got stuff to use before the office closed. Someone could have mentioned it then. I'm a full time student. I don't have money to spend on something I can't use. This was the final straw. I am in a climate controlled unit and while I haven't measured the temp, I can tell you it is noticeably warmer than the place I came from in Houston. It also does not stay lit while you are working around the unit. I understand using motion activated lighting to save energy but I'm no where near a motion detector and I have to go down a hall to reactivate it and it doesn't stay on but maybe 10 or 15 minutes. Not my biggest concern but still makes it customer unfriendly. The young lady I keep referring to is not friendly or professional. I just find them to be unprofessional overall.

First, very professionally run business by its employees. No complaints at all with customer…read moreservice. Five stars for the staff. However,... The place is too small for the volume of business they do everyday. Others have mentioned fire hazard and so forth. I don't know if the business is a franchise or if it's UPS owned, but given there is a huge UPS depot in Lufkin, you'd think we could have a larger store. You could, for instance, better compete with Office Depot on the Med. One star for the owner.

Oh, what a delightfully *cozy* little UPS store Lufkin has! I mean, who needs space, organization,…read moreor basic fire safety when you can have the full experience of a human sardine can? I was *thrilled* to learn that this is the *one and only* UPS store in town because, really, why would a growing community need more than one place to ship their stuff? That would just be too convenient. Coming from Houston, where UPS stores somehow manage to function without resembling an episode of *Hoarders*, I was simply *awestruck* by the artistic arrangement of packages on the floor, by the mailboxes, behind the counter truly a masterclass in chaos theory. I briefly considered renting a mailbox here, but hey, why bother when it's already occupied by a mountain of lost shipments? And let's talk about that line oh my , what a *fun* little fire hazard! Nothing like being squished up against a door while waiting to drop off an Amazon return. Who needs personal space when you can have a front-row seat to disorganization in action? Oh, and the staff! Shout-Out to the one competent employee (the young Black man kudos, dude), but the rest? Yikes. I don't know if they were running a UPS store or just starring in a real-time simulation of "What Not To Do in Customer Service." If I were the owner of this store, I'd be mortified. But hey, what do I know? I only have a friend who owns *three* UPS stores in Houston that somehow manage to be clean, functional, and not a logistical disaster. Maybe that's just *too much* to ask for here. #Lufkin #Texas #UPS
