I'd like to go back in time and visit the original Black Bear Diner in California where the owners were, just to see if it's really got that Cheers type vibe that I read about in their brochures while we waited for our food and if they really stand by their credos. And to the owner, please follow Credo #6: "we make this promise to you, our valued guest: We will read every single comment. We truly appreciate our guests taking the time to write to us. It helps us to determine if we are meeting your needs ...". If you really adhere to this, please don't send a canned response which I've seen used again and again asking to email you details and location. The details are all right here in the review. Both Words and photos. And the diner location is listed on the business page of Yelp. It'd be better just to not respond than to send a canned response that means nothing. The coleslaw is crunchy and creamy and the fish is to die for, you get three big giant battered white fish filets and it's plenty for two or three depending on your appetite. The shrimp cocktail sauce reminds me of my all time favorite Pete's Fish-n-Chips sauce back home (an institution in Phoenix) now I wish Woodson's had some fried shrimp too. We will be back again next week if we don't make it to our church fish fry!
