Bathroom --door that closes off toilet and tub/shower from vanity! Convenient!

This is our place to stay when we come to Springfield to see family. It's right next to a railroad but the train doesn't blow the whistle and the AC unit provides loud enough white noise to make for a very enjoyable and restful stay. This is not a new nor fancy facility. It is clean and well maintained. The huge indoor pool and hot tub are a plus! The kids love it! We've had king rooms and the double queen rooms. Upstairs and downstairs as it's only two floors. All have great water pressure in the bathrooms. The beds are comfy with plenty of pillows. The breakfast used to be great, but post COVID--it's juice, coffee, individually wrapped sweet rolls, small fresh apple or banana or an orange. Some Peanut butter and bread would be nice... We will be back!

Had a nice stay here. Clean, quiet, and restaurants nearby. Front staff were friendly and recommended some local sightseeing.

I particularly like the oatmeal and the cinnamon rolls. When we entered the hotel i was met with a nice smell in the lobby and particularly friendly helpful young man. We are rewards travelers, so they upgraded us to a suite. Love the 2 shower heads and that it had a tub. For some reason the king bedrooms usually had just a shower, so nice surprise. They have a very small indoor pool and workout area. No ice machine on first floor. Our suite was largeish... tables to put suitcases and large desk. Couch and 2 rolling chairs. I appreciate the makeup remover amenities. Bathroom counter was nice sized but only 1 sink. We rearranged the room to not be stubbling toes or hurting knees on the dark walk to the bathroom in the middle of the night. We can hear slight traffic sounds but it didnt bother us. If it does download white noise app. But the traffics sounds kinds were white noise. Only stayed couple nights but enjoyed and would stay here again. Several restaurants nearby.

There could be a lot of improvements. I understand over a year ago a car drove thru a section of…read morethe hotel and broke thru the water main etc. So yes I feel bad that they have had some hardships but they reopened the hotel before they should have. I am handicapped and I need to use an elevator, stairs for me are extremely difficult. Besides trying to carry a bag or two I also need my cane so climbing stairs is hard. We get there and the first thing is we do not have an ADA room and our room is on the second floor and the elevator does not work. My husband wanted to leave but it was after 10 pm and I was exhausted. The gal at the front desk was the only working employee when we got there. Kelly (her name) was trying to sign in so she could print up a receipt and she cannot sign in because she does not have a sign in number, name or whatever. She then has to proceed to call her manager who she manages to wake up from a sound sleep. It makes absolutely no sense to leave an employee alone and not give her the tools to do a good job. She was embarrassed that it took her so long to do something simple. Anyway, Kelly carried my bags upstairs which was very much appreciated. We were at one end of the hallway and I took my ice bucket and came and off I went. I kept seeing the vending sign with the arrow. I finally get to the end and there is another vending sign with an arrow pointing down the stairs. Wow was I . Kelly asked if there was a problem, I explained what happened and she promptly came upstairs and got my ice bucket and she brought me ice. Had it not been for Kelly we would have left. The final straw was wanting to take a shower and I couldn't because I couldn't step over the tub. These problems are the reasons I only gave it 2 stars. If I could give stars for your customer service at the hotel I would have given 5 stars. By the way your coffee in the morning was undrinkable

-- The Staff Deserved Better Coworkers (Specifically: Cleaning Staff)…read more Let me paint you a picture. Sticky carpet. Stained sheets. A towel in the shower that appeared to have been there since the Clinton administration -- stiff, yellow, and aggressively crunchy. Tub with yellow spots. A cigarette burn on the toilet. Wet shower curtains that felt like a dare. Oh, and ants. In the room. A whole situation. The breakfast bar was an act of optimism. No hot food. Minimal fruit. The coffee was so weak it was basically a rumor of coffee -- a vague suggestion that somewhere, at some point, beans had been near water. The pool: closed. Now, here's the twist: the STAFF was wonderful. Warm, helpful, genuinely nice. They are carrying this entire operation on their backs, and they deserve support staff who actually clean things. Bottom line: cute idea for a hotel. Needs a deep clean, a new coffee ratio, pest control, and possibly an exorcism for whatever was in that shower towel.

I'm so glad I did. The moment I stepped into the stylish, contemporary lobby, I felt like I'd walked into a boutique hotel in SoHo. The design is chic, modern, and full of personality. I arrived early and was pleasantly surprised to get access to my room right away -- a spacious, beautifully appointed room on the fourth floor of the hotel's main building. (Tip: there's a second building across the alley in back, so if location matters to you, be sure to ask which one you're in.) My room was terrific -- upscale furnishings, high ceilings, and a bed so comfortable I wanted to bring it home with me. Great mattress, perfect pillows -- everything you hope for in a good night's sleep. As luck would have it, the hotel was celebrating its 10-year anniversary with a lobby reception just as I was heading out to a meeting. The place had a celebratory buzz. When I returned, I made a beeline to Vantage, the rooftop bar, for an Old Fashioned. They were out of Angel's Envy (my go-to), but the bartender made a solid one with Woodford Reserve. A quick evening shower made the rooftop a bit humid, so I headed downstairs to The Order, the hotel's lobby bar -- equally impressive, with a standout liquor selection and, yes, Angel's Envy in stock. Round two. The next morning, I hit their fitness room in the back building, followed by a run through downtown. Afterward, I grabbed a surprisingly good $10 breakfast burrito from the on-site café. My only real quibble: no complimentary coffee in the lobby. For a boutique hotel of this caliber, it's a small thing that would make a big difference. Overall, Hotel Vandivort delivered style, comfort, and a memorable experience. If you're heading to Springfield and want something with personality and polish -- stay here. Highly recommended.
