DO NOT PURCHASE from AmeriGas. The price per gallon is much higher than others. Trying to contact them is ridiculous, as they work through a call center. I just cancelled my service. They charge $128/yr rental on the tank and now they are charging me $450 to remove their tank. They said they will come in the next 45 days to remove it. I am switching to Xxxx, gas is more than $1.50/gallon cheaper and no rental fees. read more

Lousy service at the highest prices. They came out twice in March last year to dump excess fuel that they had contracted for. I stopped a third delivery when my tank was at 65%. Dumping fuel at near highest price found on mass.gov site. read more

Since I own my propane tanks, I have some flexibility with shopping gas companies. However, I was pretty much exclusive (no contract though) with Amerigas. I would call them on a monthly basis to request a delivery (usually a week in advance) and it would usually be delivered within 3-4 days (they would give0 me a range of expected delivery). It was a fine relationship to start but it soured quickly as time went on. I would have times where they would be several business days late deliverying to the point where I would run on fumes. This happened 3-4 times. One time it ran out (due to them) and they capped my tank so noone could fill it. I was able to have another company inspect and remove. Another time on one of the coldest nights of that year, I almost ran out of propane. Called Amerigas corporate and offered to pay the expensive emergency fee for someone to come out and fill my tank as we went through more propane than normal. I found later that the driver that picked up my job ended up changing his mind and NOONE came to fill my tank. Not to mention I was charged the emergency when they came a day or so later. In most of these situations they apologized and gave me a discount off my fillings but after a while it just wasn't good enough. Once I got my furnace and water heater replace with an On Demand water heater, I ultimately decided to lock into a service contract with another local option instead of taking my chances anymore with Amerigas. If you need your gas to operate your home like I do, do not shop Amerigas. It's not worth the hassle and up/downs. read more

Captains Log: It's day 13 now with no propane - have called more times than I can count, and either I am in automation hell - or the rep understands and notes the file with the idea that someone will help. Had to do Thanksgiving Turkey on a grill because oven not working with no propane. Was then told delivery would be on 12/1. Today is 12/6 - no signs of life yet. Terrible service experience - no one seems to care. Have been with them for a long time and this is shockingly bad. Will call again tomorrow - because I'm not confident the calls are actually getting through to anyone that matters. read more

They have the worst customer service of any company I've had to deal with. I've been a customer for years. I'm on automatic delivery but because of COVID my usage is higher than normal and I need to change delivery frequency. I've called several times and wait time is a ridicules 91 minutes. Who can stay on hold the long. I done it several times. When I did get in touch with them the said they would update my profile to get delivery in a more timely manner. I was told don't worry I would get delivery last Thursday or Friday and I'm still waiting. They have mailed several notices how they are improving customer service which they haven't. They should save their money and actually do something to improve their service. read more

On Tuesday 10:00am I knew some snow was coming on Sunday so I called AmeriGas on middle st. I said, Hey I need some propane before the storm this weekend. She said sure with a big smile. I said wow. This is great. I was so happy. This time I was gonna get gas from them in a reasonable time. Like Charlie Brown trying to kick the foot ball. Time rolls on. Now it's Friday I'm thinking oh boy amerigas screwed me again. So I call them in the am and a lovely lady answered the phone. I'm like hey, I need gas I'm almost out , I called on Tuesday, you guys promised me. She's like let me check and then she said I'm scheduled for a delivery tomorrow. I'm like wow. That's great. I'm so happy again. This time I'm gonna kick that football. Tomorrow comes. And ah guess what? They're not even open today. Lol what a holes. It's 9pm. It's dark cold and snowing. I turned down the gas to 55* to conserve the little gas left. I put towels under my bedroom door to keep it warm. I have had an Amerigas account for almost 10 years. In the last few months they have managed to make me rethink my account. Their driver filled a HOCON tank at my property rather than the Amerigas tank which has been there for the entire time. This caused a snowball effect (all due to this error) and I was going to run out of propane. I cancelled the account on 9/10/20. Twice now they have been scheduled to come pick up their tanks. One of which is filled so my money is sitting there. I have called the local office, corporate and any other number I could find. All I get is we are so sorry we will expedite this. Not one person can call me back to explain how I still have these tanks almost a month later. Find anyone but Amerigas. zero stars would have been given since Amerigas gives zero F's. read more

Honestly, I have had issues with this company in the past. But for the past three times , everything has been great! I was Past due on my balance, and I called to pay and they waved the fees. No one ever answers the phone. When someone finally returns your repeated phone calls, they will tell you someone will deliver propane on a certain day. That day will come and go, and you will AGAIN make repeated phone calls. You will be quoted a price but that will not be the price they charge when delivery finally occurs - no, it will be a dollar or two more per gallon. Then you can make repeated calls to get credited. Not sure what the options are, but it's definitely time to explore them. read more

Amerigas has been the worst company that I have ever had to deal with in my life. I've never seen worse customer service. I had an appointment for them to come move a propane tank on my property on October 12th, to which my fiancé took time off of work to be there and they never showed. Not only did they not show, they never called. I called to ask if they were still coming, I was told I would get a call back and never did. I called again the following day and was given the excuse the reason why the guy never showed up is because the technician scheduled for our appointment wasn't trained in what he needed to do, the lady then told me it wouldn't let her pick a day in the schedule so she would have the service technician call me back, never did. The following day my fiancé called and was told well the service technician has 72 hours to get back to you. After the 72 hours, still no call. We called again to explain that we need to reschedule and what we've been dealing with. We got the same song and dance, AGAIN, that someone would call us back. Luckily this time someone did call, they scheduled us for Thursday between 12-4. The following day I get a call from Amerigas saying that guy made a mistake, they're available Friday from 12-4 not Thursday. I said well I have someone who can be here Thursday but not Friday, I can't take time off of work when I can't trust that you guys will even come. And I bet you can guess what she said, we will call you back and let you know what we can do. I'm currently on hold the next day because I need to know when my appointment is. Everytime I call I'm on hold for a minimum of 15 minutes. This is just absolutely insane and I have never been treated so poorly by any company in my entire life. I hate to bash a business but I would just like everyone to be aware of how unreliable this company is and what to expect if you're considering going with Amerigas. The reviews on google speak for themselves. End rant. Update: The lady on the phone told me they would come tomorrow between 1-5 and then I received a call saying the person who was supposed to come is going to be out can they come Saturday. I'm done.
