Do Not Recommend!!! absolutely horrible experience with these people for years now. had my tank filled Tuesday, no one was home so they took my connection to my house apart and left. contacted the "office" national answering service made a appointment for the back and reconnect the service . they said couldn't get back for 2 days and someone should have to be home for inspection. took the day off losing money and get a text that my appointment has been completed. no one showed up still disconnected called back multiple times to get the run around and still no answers when it will be reconnected or why the work order says it's completed. abso done with this compan. not even gonna get into them sending us late bills with up charges after never sending the original bill. read more

I would give zero stars if possible. I was a new customer because my landlord used them for the cottage I rent. I ordered gas on a 'will call' basis. I paid $60 ahead of time for a 'safety check.' I was told it would be done with the first delivery. I waited for the delivery and was told I had to be there for the safety check. the guy delivered the propane, but was then told by him that he doesn't do safety checks. called them. they said someone was supposed to call me as the delivery guys don't do safety checks. but, no one had called me. I scheduled a safety check for the following monday. I've waited all day for them to arrive. I called twice spoke with a lazy person, who kept promising me that the technician was in the area and he'd be there. in 15 minutes. in a half hour. he didn't arrive. I called and luckily spoke with the manager because they are short staffed. he actually texted the safety check guy and GUESS WHAT. safety check guy said he did the safety check in the morning and spoke with the owner. GUESS WHAT!? that guy, his name is Russ, lied. he never did any safety check at all. I was home all day. I think he came in the driveway and turned around but didn't get out of the car. he did speak briefly with my landlord, who was outside, but not me. I'm the name on the account. Russ has got to be a pathological liar. While the manager seems like a decent guy, that is not enough. I'm making a complaint to the Mass. AG. read more

While Amerigas seems reasonable in terms of price and shows up as scheduled, their delivery trucks have damaged my property on several occasions and have never notified me or properly followed up to remedy the issues. read more

Worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life! They lie to get you off the phone and on to the next! Since day 1 with this company I have complained about faulty pressure gauges on my tank and their response was that it can't be fixed at that time and to just shake the tank to try and get a better reading... seriously?!? This has caused us to run out of propane previously and even the delivery driver the last time said the company should be taking care of that ASAP! Still no repair. Fast forward to now and again because of faulty gauges I found that I was below 30% which is when they want you to call so I did so because after I "shale the tank" it drops to about 20%, and still have no delivery since I called about two weeks ago. Here we are getting lower and lower and no one can answer me on when I am going to get my propane delivered. Customer service puts you on hold for over an hour which is unbelievable. When I finally did get through to supervisors after waiting for and hour or so each time on hold, they have told me I was on an expedited list and should have propane by end of day or next day.... well that "next day" was two days ago. Get your stuff together AmeriGas! If your looking for a propane company to heat your house STAY AWAY FROM AMERIGAS, they lock you in with all these fees and it's near impossible to get out of contract without paying through the roof. Incredibly difficult customer service. I've had an account for 5 years and first off, they couldn't find my account. Then they wanted to do a " soft credit check" before they would deliver plus they wanted payment in advance. I've dealt with Amerigas up in topsfield and they were as uncommunicative, unprofessional, and difficult as this woman in Hyannis. I would suggest that if you need propane, call Eastern or anybody else. read more

awful!! ran his hose across the hood of my husband's car. Had to wait 75 minutes to report it and was told by Stephanie that we would hear from them within 72 hours. Here I am 11 days later and nobody has responded, so I'm back on hold and the automated messages tells me that it will be another 75 minutes wait time. Terrible customer service if you need an emergency delivery it's going to cost you an extra $125. They don't care if there are children living in the house it's not their problem, lack of compassion is reason enough to keep from giving them business never mind the fact their prices are ridiculous. The price this company charges is more than any other company in the local delivery area. Why I kept them so long, I don't know. Asked them to fix a gauge on a propane tank leased from them and 6 years later never got fixed. That came back to bite me when I finally decided to switch providers; you need to be at 5% volume or below to avoid a $150 "recovery fee" (pumping the propane you already paid for back into their tanks). RI doesn't allow this but Massachusetts does...no surprise there. After switching, expect AmeriGas to leave the old tanks sitting in your yard for the better part of a month. Customer service is sub-par, as you'll find when you're on auto delivery but run out of gas due to their dereliction. read more

If you actually need propane for your home, don't bother calling Amerigas since you won't ever actually receive it. I placed a call for delivery over 2 weeks ago, called back on two occasions when delivery still hadn't been made, both times to be assured that it would be delivered the next day. I called yesterday (the 2nd call back), informed the person who answered the phone that I was down to 8% in the tank (the initial call was at about 25%), she told me "we'll definitely have someone out tomorrow, just turn your heat way down". So after keeping the heat off overnight (when it's 30 out), I return home today to...surprise no delivery. Can't get an answer in the local office, customer service, anywhere. Hopefully they refill before our toes freeze off. Definitely time to call another propane company...this isn't their first "forget". read more
