Good service, good responsiveness, solid installation, strong reliability. We purchased a 10kWh Enphase battery and solar panels from Guy and team. It's now been a year post install, and everything continues to operate well, with no problems arising. The install was tricky and protracted for us due to complications from the gas meter's proximity to the electric panel. The original location of the two elements was too close to each other (no fault of Guy and team) by a few inches, and it complicated the installation and approval by a couple months. Some better planning might have averted the approval problems, but we're glad we finally got everything resolved and up to code now as well. Great until you inevitably experience a system problem. Then they will just ignore you. They were initially very happy to sell us our solar system and battery backup. However about a year after the install the battery system stopped working. I called and texted them and we seemed to be on track to get a fix, but then they just simply stopped responding to emails or phone calls. I've been trying to get this fixed for over 8 weeks now and cannot get a response in any fashion. Would absolutely not recommend Amerigreen. Terrible communication and they will simply stop responding if you ever need help - as you can see from a ton of these 1 star yelp reviews. Regardless of the scope of work, I'm always wary about working with contractors. I've heard plenty of stories and have had my fair share of flaky, unprofessional, and subpar contractors. So when it came to solar, I was both excited to get panels installed and dreading the vetting process. I met with 8 installers, scoured numerous online forums for months, and did a ton of research. It was a daunting task, but in the end, nobody checked all of the boxes like Amerigreen. They offered the best product, value, and professionalism. Guy was the second installer I met with so going through 6 additional quotes took some time on my end. He was never annoying or created a false sense of urgency, which is a major pet peeve. I appreciated his patience and thorough answers to all of my questions. We financed through AG as well. They offered various options and we easily found something that worked for us. I've been looking at Solar Panel Systems for a little while now, and I was very worried about choosing the wrong system or, even worse, the wrong company. After several meetings with company reps, I stumbled onto AmeriGreen and it couldn't have been a better accident! Great experience all around, highly recommend AmeriGreen Solar, read on: Background: I came into this project as an educated buyer having done a 15 panel install seven years ago with a different provider. I have a flat roof and room for many more panels and a need for more production (previous install falling far short of need as was done without any historical data). The initial impetus however was a roof leak on a 15 year old roof. I got bids from two roofers and two solar providers the latter two for both roofing and solar work. The roofers came in a bit lower than the solar roofing and the two solar bids came in close to each other. I was leaning toward doing the full solar and roofing because it seemed like a good opportunity to fix the roof and do the solar at the same time. The AmeriGreen experience: Guy is the sales guy and he's a measured and knowledgeable guy without salesly flourish. He was easy to work with and talk through options and he gave a professional proposal. A key with contracting is if this guy is going to be there for me after the sale if anything comes up (which it always does) and if he's going to be someone I can always escalate to if needed. I felt good about him and about AmeriGreen after some further background research. I signed and we got going. What happened next is the AmeriGreen secret sauce. I never spoke to Guy again (even though two medium sized issues came up during the project execution). Why? Because Guy expertly handed me off to Rose the project manager (PM). Mind you I still felt that I could escalate to Guy if I needed to. Rose was amazing, constant and professional communication on next steps, crew ETA, next steps, inspections, everything. You can measure a company on how well they handle the eventual issues/problems that arise. I mentioned we had two issues and Rose took immediate ownership of them, adjusted the project plan, kept me informed and everything worked out. Many companies try to do this sales to PM handoff but I've never seen it done this well. You can read my long review if you like but if you want to cut it short, I am very pleased with the final product provided to me by AmeriGreen Builders. I was especially pleased when the first rains came and there were zero leaks in my now new roof. I was also pleased with the roofer going a bit above and beyond to fix aesthetic things that were not part of the contract but that made the roof look way better when he was finished. The electrical work was clean and they kept things in places that worked aesthetically. Overall, a very good job. Guy is very knowledgeable about the various technologies and he was instrumental in guiding me to the final technology choices that ended up on my roof. His choices appeared to be based on a long discussion he had with me before putting the bid together, and as I educated myself on the various options, I came to agree with his choices of a top quality microinverter set and an American based company that made the solar panels. I received three responsible bids on my job and AmeriGreen was the middle one. I decided to go with them because their contract was a bit cleaner than the low bid, who appeared to write a contract that was designed to make money on change orders. Of course there are always bumps and things that happen along the way so I will never say the job went perfect but in my many decades of working with contractors I have yet to have a job go perfect. The measure of a contractor in my mind is how they handle the challenges that come up on the job. The first bump on the road was when we discovered that the roofer who was part of the original bid had not maintained the certification required for the warranty that was part of the bid. Guy originally wanted us to pay more as part of the solution but when we communicated that was now a deal breaker as the bids had been received he found another roofer to do the work at the original price. Second bump had to do with timing. The contract allowed for about ten weeks to do what was essentially about 2-3 weeks of work. I was not paying close enough attention and should have worked to tighten the schedule as it ended up being quite the challenge to have to be in town for 10 weeks making ourselves available for construction. I would have preferred a tighter window that allowed us to go on vacation rather than having to be constantly available for 10 weeks. AmeriGreen held to the contract and beat the deadline by a few days so the hassle here is on me for not paying closer attention to contract details and making sure they worked with my other plans. Last minor bump was when a subcontractor damaged my driveway. This could have been a big deal if AmeriGreen wanted to say this was not their fault but they stepped up and sent a guy out who did an excellent repair. Other minor bumps were usually communication issues as I am rather abrupt in my communication style and I think Rose thought a couple times that I was questioning AmeriGreens integrity when all I thought I was doing was being diligent. Last issue was a non-issue also but is worth noting. There is a lag time between when the roof warranty actually shows up and when the job is complete, which is generally when final inspection sign off is received and final payment is triggered. I decided to withhold final payment and let it accumulate interest per the contract until I received my warranties. This ended up costing me 100 bucks and Guy actually tried to not take it - I insisted. If this is an issue for you then make sure final payment is triggered on delivery of all things contracted for and not upon final inspection, which might precede final delivery of all documents and will definitely precede interconnection and proof of actual generation. read more

A year ago I called a number of solar companies but chose Amerigreen.  I needed additional solar panels but I also needed a new roof.  Amerigreen took care of everything in a professional, timely manner.  The owner, Guy, always responded when I called him with a question.  Months later after a severe rain, I noticed a small leak.  Again, they responded and took care of it.  Today I called because I noticed some damage due to severe winds.  They said they would send someone and it will be repaired tomorrow....which they did.   Most recently, my converter stopped working (previously installed by another company who are no longer in business). Guy sent out a crew to see if it could be fixed or replaced at no charge. Ultimately, they found the correct model and replaced it with only the charge for the equipment. How great for a company to do quality work and be so responsive!  I highly recommend this company. read more

We just got our panels installed and the process was easy and painless. I love how the team worked well together especially when I had concerns they were quick to respond. Arvin helped me decide how many panels we need, explained how things work and was very honest with the procedures and what we needed. It took almost 3 months to get approval from the city, SCE, and my HOA. Once we did, I was all set to install the solar panels. They have now started ignoring my emails and texts that I want to install solar. The only response I got was they were busy and could not schedule anymore solar installation at this time. I'll preface that we ended up going with a different Solar installer, so I can't fairly write about the quality of their install work. Which is part of why I chose a 4 star rating. My Grandma had been interested in solar panels for her La Puente home, for about the last 5yrs at least. She had door to door sales people from SunRun, Vivint, Solar City and other random unknowns. Most would insist on her signing initial documents on the first meetings, a few even tried getting her to sign up for loans on the spot. Some real shady characters in the Home Improvement industry and Solar is no different. So in 2021 after getting tired of dealing with door to door shenanigans, we got serious about finding a trust worthy contractor and turned to EnergySage and Yelp. We received proposals from 9 companies and narrowed it to 5, 2 that we liked from EnergySage and 3 others that I found on Yelp. We knew a new roof was likely needed as the current one was at least 15yrs old. Which is how we came across AmeriGreen, we had taken a few roofing proposals one being Bumble Roofing who sent a list of solar partners and AmeriGreen was near the top. So after looking them up on Yelp we contacted them. After messaging AmeriGreen Rose contacted us the next day and setup an appointment with Arvin that week. The appointment was in the evening around 5 and Arvin called to let us know he was running a little late, he showed up about 20 mins later, and ended up staying about 2hrs fully explaining the proposal, answering questions. Arvin provided multiple options based on our current and projected usage, with and without financing and adjusted the size of the system on the fly as we brought up concerns or future scenarios. The equipment used was all well known and trusted brands, high wattage REC Alpha Panels, Enphase Micro Inverters. The price was competitive with the other proposals. The financing options were good and respectable, their primary lending partner is the LA Water & Power Community Credit Union, which offers low interest, no fee loans, with multiple term lengths. The only thing I can complain about is that well talking to Arvin he was never pushy or aggressive in his pitch or trying get us to sign anything, he was contacting me a bit more than I would've liked at that early stage. It wasn't really a factor to not go with AmeriGreen. Ultimately we chose one of the highly rated installers we found on EnergySage, they offered a slightly bigger system for a cheaper price, with better financing for us. When I notified Arvin of our decision he was cordial and appreciative, and to his credit he did offer to try to beat the system pricing. For anyone looking into Solar I would recommend, avoiding any door to door salesperson, getting as many quotes as possible, at least 5 or more. Even though AmeriGreen wasn't the right fit for us they might be for you, and I have no problem recommending them based on our interaction. read more

I obtained a lot of different quotes on solar systems for my house, but AmeriGreen came back with the best combination of modern panels and microinverters, right at the price point I needed. They communicated well throughout the process and handled all document signing electronically. When I asked for options to avoid re-routing my plumbing and fan vents, they were able to come up, with a slightly different mounting bracket that gave me the clearance we needed. They have left me literally exhausted! Not once or twice but just about every time I have an appointment with someone they don't show up at the scheduled time and frequently the wrong day. I call to confirm someone is on their way and I get no answer. Either their busy beyond belief or they just have terrible customer service. I would recommend anyone that has an issue with working or not being able to take ample time off to wait for workers to arrive nouse a business that shows up! The roof leaked I called they inspect it, showing them my wet ceiling and the man has the nerve to tell me there's nothing wrong with it! I then asked him to wait 10 minutes for my husband to arrive he yells at me!! The air conditioner was installed in the strangest way looks nothing like the neighbors. I met with 3 different solar companies and Guy at Amerigreen was really the only person I met with who made me feel comfortable in the process. He took a lot of time to explain the how solar works and connects to my electrical service. He also went in depth about where the panels would work best and why, showing me a very helpful program that tracked the sun and shade on my roof. Finishing up, he talked about the different panels that were out there and why they worked with the panels they do, though, I could chose a different brand (I did the research and was fine with what they advised). At no point did I feel like he was trying to oversell me on anything. In fact, I asked for more panels...just in case! I ended up switching the installer to Amerigreen because the original one kept delaying the design and modify the contract multiple times. When I reached Amerigreen, Guy was very professional and informative. He was very patient and not pushing or agressive at all. It was just feel right to work with them.
