In fact, Solar Optimum identified the problem before we even realized something was wrong. They worked directly with the manufacturer to secure a replacement inverter at no cost and handled the installation quickly and professionally. When it came time to replace our roof, we didn't hesitate to reach out to Solar Optimum again. Their GAF Master Elite certification and the advantages of having the same company manage both the solar and roofing work provided tremendous peace of mind. The warranty benefits are excellent, and the roofing warranty is transferable, which adds real value and is something many roofing companies do not offer. I went with Solar Optimum mainly because of reputation. I also wanted to go with a company that wasn't going to disappear in the next few years. There were cheaper quotes for the system I wanted, but they didn't quite meet the aforementioned requirements (one, although competent, was way too new to feel comfortable with). Another competitor, probably the biggest one in Southern California, came out for a presentation, but their package was strictly a lease and didn't make much sense at all for me. The point of solar panels is to save money, and the projected money I would save was completely offset by the monthly payment. So, I decided to buy my panels outright, along with the Tesla Powerwall 3. It all was pretty pricey, but I will qualify for the federal rebate since the purchase was before the end of 2025. At least that's what I think. I was assured that I would qualify if I had a fully paid invoice before the end of 2025; although there was some other talk about showing proof of operation before the year ended. Solar Optimum couldn't provide me with a definitive answer, but my CPA said a fully paid invoice would work just fine. We'll see. The whole process began around 5 months ago. It started off with a rep coming out for a site inspection in order to put together a plan for me. That went pretty smoothly. Communication was primarily via email and phone. Their main office is on the Glendale/Burbank border. I went a couple of times to drop correspondence off. Once they put the plan together and I signed off on it, the physical installation came a few months later. That took only a day and it looked pretty clean and professional. The next stage was for Edison, my electricity provider, to come out and install the adapter. But that took a couple of months for them to even get here, and when they did, it turned out they couldn't install it at all because the adapter was damaged. The installers had placed it in a bag, but didn't secure it properly. Unfortunately, water from the autumn rains got into the bag and damaged it. So, it took almost another month to replace the adapter and have another Edison tech come out to inspect and install it. The last step is to have the city come out to give a final inspection and to give the permit to operate. As of today, late December, the inspection has yet to be done and the solar panels are just sitting there, inoperable. I understand there was a lot of orders for solar as people were rushing to get their purchases in before the 2025 federal rebates ended. But it's been 5 months and I've already fully paid for a solar panel system that hasn't been even been turned on yet. I don't really blame Solar Optimum since I'm really on Edison's and the city's time, but it is frustrating having to wait so long. Once it is turned on, I'll update this review. read more

I really don't like writing poor reviews, unless I think that this is necessary to guide future decisions for other customers, especially because this company is so highly reviewed. Imagine getting to the finish line after months of waiting just to see that your Solar panels produce zero energy. I had to troubleshoot with Enphase on the phone myself, while Solar Optimum claims they solved the issue remotely. Not sure who to believe, but the communication about what to expect during activation of the solar panels was clearly lacking. Solar Optimum also has one of the worst finance teams, period. Imagine getting an invoice that was dated 5 days ago and due tomorrow, imagine trying to pay the rest of your balance on the project that's overdue but nobody from the finance team will respond to your emails for over a month. I really shouldn't have to remind you about a bill I need to pay, or have to correct the amount to pay from a previous cryptic invoice. I have nothing but good things to say about their design and install teams, who were very speedy and professional. This is where the company shines. My "project manager" sent one email after contract signing and then basically ghosted me the rest of the process. You will be handed off between 5-6 people at different stages all while trying to decide if it's a spam call or not. Some coordination from the start would really improve the customer experience. I had Solar Optimum install my solar panels about 8 years ago. Recently, I noticed my roof needed a replacement and I found out that Solar Optimum also does roofing. They have a great warranty and their price was very reasonable. Even more, they were ready to go within days and the whole process took a week to remove the panels and do the roof. The roofers were polite and hard working and the end product was great. I had a contact customer text the whole time that answered any questions I had. Really, a painless process. After posting my review, Solar Optimum reached out and I was able to schedule a technician to address our production issues. The tech was able to get our system back up and running yesterday but they are going to replace our Powerwall due to a manufacturer defect, which they said could take at least a month due to their backlog of work. I totally understand that they are slammed right now because everyone is rushing to get solar before the tax incentives expire, but providing good customer service should not be compromised simply because a company has a high volume of business. This review is for Solar Optimum and Roofing Optimum. A little bit of background. We had Solar Optimum put on solar panels a few years back and also recently installed an Enphase backup battery also with Solar Optimum, everything was working beautifully. Unfortunately, due to heavy rains this past winter season, we discovered a leak in our roof (in a different section of the roof from where the solar panels were). We made the difficult decision to replace our 30-year-old roof rather than spot repairs. We reached out to Solar Optimum, and they were able to coordinate everything very smoothly, beginning with removal of the solar panels, followed by the re-roofing process. Carlos Leon and his team from Roofing Optimum were excellent in their communication, efficiency and work. Under the concrete s-tile roof, they found significant wood damage throughout and repaired everything. Within 2 weeks they were done with everything and we now have a beautiful new roof. Three days ago ,my carbon monoxide alarm at 2 am started beeping constantly. I initially tried to fix it by change the battery and resetting the device, but it didn't work. I called Solar Optimum the company that installed the alarm , the first representative I spoke with Davey ,told me that the alarm was under warranty and promised to send a technician to fix or replace it, However, no one contacted me or showed up on the first day. When I called back on the second day to ask about the delay , they claimed they had "No employee named Davey" and began giving me the runaround. I called again today and spoke to a women, who then transferred me to a representative named Anthony. He was very rude and unprofessional .wherever I asked a question , he would either ignore it, answer with and another question ,or continuously interrupt me. Eventually ,I asked to speak with his manager . He told me the manager was busy but would call me back . Later , the manager name Hrach Labbad ,called . Instead of resolving the issue and honoring the replacement Davey promised under warranty, he rudely argued that they would not replace it, He, too, was dismissive and talked to me very rudely. Based on this highly unprofessional and frustrating experience, I cannot recommend this company to anyone. Consider yourself warned if you are thinking about working with them. read more

signed a contract with Solar Optimum on Aug 12th, 2026. Per phone call with Eddie Rodriguez, it was made clear that I wanted to have it installed by end of year in order to qualify for the tax credit before it expired. A lot of time passed by without hearing back. Then I was told the solar panels that I had agreed to are no longer available. They replaced them with cheaper options. Later on, they said the replacements were no longer available and switched them again to a cheaper option. I received an email on 10/28/25 saying the solar panels are ready for installation. Then I didn't receive an update until 12/10/25 asking for information that I had already confirmed via phone call, the clearance from solar panels as well as the panels being permitted. Then I received an email on 12/23/25 asking for this confirmation again. I sent a follow up, and did not hear back from Eddie until 12/27/25. He gave me a call and told me that Solar Optimum is unable to complete the installation by the end of the year, making me ineligible for the tax credit. He suggested claiming the system was installed/invoiced in my taxes, which is tax fraud as the tax credit makes it explicitly clear that it needs to be installed and powered by 12/31/25. On Dec 30th, he said he would update me within 2 weeks. 2 weeks elapsed and no update was given. At the end of my experience with Solar Optimum, I was took a loan that was no longer needed which ran my credit which has negative implications for my credit score. I also missed out on thousands in tax credit as well as future long term savings. There was misrepresentation regarding what the company had to offer and so far the company has not offered any option to rectify the situation. Will never do business with this company and strongly advise against using their services. The only option remaining is if they are able to discount the panels by the amount of tax credit I have missed out on, which will be my desired resolution requested. read more

I'm giving this project 5 star review because I think it is the best company to go with for quality and a competitive cost. If you go with this company, 100% ask for Mason to be your sales rep. Avoid Eddie at all costs as he won't respond to you after you sign your agreement...Because of this, Management actually switched my contact person to Mason, and I am forever grateful for that. Mason is attentive and he was the best with responding to questions and concerns. And when I had concerns about delays in my project, I would email him and it would be fixed right away. The solar industry is one where many people have a lot of questions, uncertainty in effectiveness, and aren't sure if it's right for them. And people in general don't trust solar companies and sales people. It takes time to complete a solar project from contract to actually generating electricity for the home. For me, I decided to go with solar because the 30% tax credit was ending (and now that I actually see results, it's worth it even without the tax credit). However, since I was in a tight window to get everything completed before December 31st, I was very nervous as to if the project would be done on time. if it wasn't for my persistence, and for Mason's help, I don't think it would have been done Before December 31st and I would have been very upset and lost out on the tax credit. So again, GO WITH MASON at Solar Optimum, you won't regret it. If I get another home, I will 100% use this company again, and would 100% ONLY work with Mason. I also added a picture to show how much solar has been generating for me in just over a week in the middle of December (the worst for sunlight). I had solar optimum install a Tesla power wall to go with my solar panels. They sent unlicensed and untrained electrical technicians to my home. They did not know what they were doing causing my kitchen electricity to fail. To try to fix the damage they caused, they sent another electrician out who cut a large hole in my wall of my home and damaged numerous electrical switches. . Then they sent someone to repair these damages and he broke the sensors off of my sensors security gate. They also damaged my pool deck when putting the powerwall in place. Stellar experience all around! In my initial interest in setting up residential solar, I tried doing research and asking for quotes by myself, but this was a messy, complicated proposition. There is so much information out there! A lot of websites seemed to have a bias, and I would instantly be inundated with sales solicitations as soon as I filled out an online form. I discovered Energysage was recommended to help with this difficult process. They were pretty neutral in their bias, aside from helping consumers make the best decision possible, and the process made it much easier to research and compare installers. Out of all the possibilities for our location, Solar Optimum was consistently highest rated as well as had done a lot of installations. So I went with Solar Optimum, and even with high expectations I was so pleasantly surprised at how excellent the process was throughout. Great transparent and timely communication and outstanding customer service all the way through. They kept me well informed of every step including costs and attentively followed up each time. Ours was not an easy set up, due to our location and roofing. After installation during the turn on phase, there was a small glitch that was not uncommon. They sped through fixing it and now we have a great solar set up. They have been super solid after turn on as well, however I don't really need to bug them much with everything running smoothly for months now. I can't say enough about how great this entire experience has been, especially after feeling quite intimidated with how complicated it was at first. This is a review of Solar Optimum's secondary company, Roofing Optimum. I hired Solar Optimum eight years ago for solar panels after the first company I hired could not fit enough panels on my roof to meet my electrical needs. A solar panel expert said to use Sun Power panels, the most powerful at the time. Solar Optimum sold those panels, and they did an excellent job. I pay $0 a month for electricity, which pays for both air conditioning and electric heat. After eight years, however, I discovered my shingles were shot. The sun in Southern California is powerful. This meant I had to removed the solar panels, get a new roof, and then have the panels reinstalled. I learned of Roofing Optimum, which gave the lowest bid of four companies, and I was impressed the whole way. I happened to be on an HOA board once when our complex needed new roofing, and I learned then how complicated roofs are. Many roofers, I learned, take short cuts, and you'd never know. In that case, the HOA hired a roofing consultant to stand on the roof to make sure each step was done to standards. For a single home roof, you're not likely to do that. I didn't. What impressed me were a few things: 1) Roofing Optimum removed the old shingles. A short cut is to put a new layer over the old layer, but the old layer wasn't done right, as they pointed out. They like to shingle right on the plywood. 2) After the shingles were taken off, a small army of carpenters came and sawed out any soft spots and inserted new wood -- at no extra charge. 3) Then two roofers spend two days putting on underlayment and three days applying new GAF high-standard shingles in the color of my choice. I chose the most reflective, sandalwood, which helps keep the heat away. The shingles are 50-year shingles, rated highly fire resistant. My roof was being shingled during the Winter 2025 wildfires. 4) At the first rain, I saw water seemed to be missing the gutters in a few spots, so Roofing Optimum came right out and saw the problem was not in the roofing but cracks in the gutter. They were not responsible for the gutters, but out of kindness, they caulked the cracks. The roofing manager, Carlos Leon, was always easy to reach with any question I had, and it's thanks to him that the roof was done completely on schedule. The roof with it's capped peaks is a thing of beauty. The quality is high. What I learned, too, from Roofing Optimum is don't ignore your roof. "Treat your roof like your yard. It needs care." In particular, seals around pipes should be redone every two years, and the caulking in the corners of the gutter need to be redone every two years. Make sure there are no leaves in your gutter to stop up your drains. All that's left is for the solar panels to go back on and be reconnected to the grid. That should happen soon. read more

Worked with Solar Optimum for installing solar panels, and then also ended up working with them for roof repairs before the main solar project. Overall the communication and experience on the solar side was great. I'm not giving full five stars because there were a couple issues during the roofing work (some additional gutter work that wasn't initially communicated and some mess from the demo), but they made an effort to fix the issue, give us a discount, and make sure we were happy with the end result. After my review posted on Dec 4, 2025; Charles Buckley of Solar Optimum called me several times. As of now, after struggling and daily efforts from me, the solar panel system is installed, with vague instructions to turn it on. They say the customer should turn on the system and also should monitor. I had to find out from others the complete turn on procedure and to install Tesla APP on my phone to monitor. In this case, Priscilla Tjoelker of Solar Optimim was very helpful to successfully complete the turn on and monitor operation. She guided me live on the phone though each step; this is what I call customer service. Regarding power output of the panels, they say it is 430 to 460 Watts per panel . This is misleading. They don't say these numbers are under what ambient conditions? are these numbers Maximum, nominal or average ? It is false number to multiply number of panels with 430 or 460, because in reality this number has no significance. This is not unique to Solar Optimum, the solar companies should provide a meaningful and true data about power output. This is my personal experience with my solar panel project. I recently completed the installation of a 23 panel, non- battery solar system. To do this I had detailed discussions and received quotes from seven different installers in my area. I looked at online reviews and learned about panel specifications, inverters, and net metering. The installer that stood out above the others was Solar Optimum. I worked with Mike Biscotti, who gave me clear and detailed explanations about the install process, from the site survey thru the permitting, installation, final inspection, and lastly permission-to-operate from my utility. They answered all of my questions, and they kept me fully informed as to what was going to happen next in the process. They did an entire roof replacement. Because they are the highest level of GAF Roofing Materials installers, we have a non-pro-rated (meaning, should we have a problem, they don't just pay for the "unused years," they pay for the whole thing) for 40 years! The installers were excellent, and the roof looked great, but the company foreman who checked the work had them redo a small part that wasn't to GAF specs (at no extra cost). This is a company that only does quality work. The price was around the same as from other companies with far fewer standards and a much shorter pro-rated warranty. Great experience! read more

The singularly worst customer service experience we have ever had. We are now 20 months into this ordeal, and still do not have a working system. We were assigned a project manager who made multiple promises and assurances that were not kept (even to the extent of providing certain documents). We requested to have a new person assigned to our project, only to be told that wouldn't happen. Two months later he was no longer with the company, and we were never assigned a new person. Once we started the installation process, the price quickly changed from what they promised and their were minor things that needed to change. I felt very taken advantage of and was sent multiple DocuSign to resign the changes with no phone calls returned to myself. Once the solar panels were installed, three days later my lights on my house went out and I reached out to the company to see if they can have a technician come out to see if they made a mistake on the wiring and no response after two emails. Overall it is a company that lures you in with their good prices and communication at first and once you sign the contract, everything went downhill with them. I had really great experience with Landon Cicero at Solar Optimum. I was interested to do Solar installation on my house and Landon was amazing to walk me through whole process and give me details on options that I have and their pros/cons. He was very patient and took time to understand my concerns and provided right guidance. Landon was very punctual on follow up and wasn't pushy to make decision. Their solar quote was very competitive with other companies I have compared. In full transparency , I decided not to get installation done since my house has metal tile roof (most of the solar companies that I have talked to don't do installation on metal roof) and roof replacement cost was substantial. If roof cost was not the factor than I would have definitely gone with Solar optimum based on my experience working with Landon. I have few other friends who have done installation with Solar optimum and very happy with the company.
