The instructors are not only exceptionally knowledgeable in the art in which they teach, but they are also focused on trying to give each student an equal share of individual attention to help develop their skills. Their teaching methodologies are diverse and top notch helping one progress to the next level whether if it's from simply being a novice, all the way up to becoming an amateur fighter. Amongst the students there is a strong sense of camaraderie where we train together, spar together, and learn together. I've personally seen where many senior students will help along a more beginner student with advice and guidance. It's an atmosphere where students from diverse backgrounds and experiences can genuinely learn from each other and grow in mind, body, and spirit as martial artists. The facility and the equipment within the establishment is immaculate and well maintained. Whenever there is a rare instance of equipment failure, it is promptly repaired or replaced. The facility boasts equipment such as Fairtex training bags, a mini boxing ring, a free weight section, as well as ample locker/shower rooms, all of which are kept in peak condition. New pieces of equipment are introduced fairly regularly phasing out the old and worn equipment. For me, Progressive Martial Arts is a phenomenal place to study the art of Muay Thai Kickboxing and I'm honored to be able to train/study my discipline here. My advice for those interesting in pursuing martial arts is to come in and take the free introductory lesson. Come and experience first hand everything that PMA has to offer and I guarantee that you will not leave disappointed.

But we’re more than just a gym. We’re a community of passionate individuals committed to growth, discipline, and supporting each other both on and off the mats. In Thai, “Sanuk” is a deeply rooted cultural concept that means "fun" or "enjoyment." But it goes beyond just having a good time , it reflects a way of life. To Thai people, doing something sanuk means doing it in a way that is joyful, engaging, and worthwhile. It implies that life should be lived with a sense of pleasure, laughter, and positive energy, even when doing everyday tasks or hard work. A job, a conversation, or even a challenge should ideally be sanuk , fun, lively, and infused with a good spirit. It’s not just about personal enjoyment either - sanuk often involves others, encouraging social connection, good humor, and shared experiences. It’s a value that helps shape Thailand’s famously warm and welcoming culture. Sanuk Martial Arts is place where people don’t just train hard, they do it with joy, camaraderie, and a love for the art.

I started at Evolution in the Fall of 2013 with the intentions of joining the fight team. By the Summer of 2014, I had my first fight with Evolution and won unanimous. Prior to becoming a member at Evolution I had a strong background in Karate & Boxing. However, there were a lot of holes in my game that Brandon quickly fixed. He is excellent at translating information, correcting form, providing motivation, and creating a platform for individuals to grow. Not only did I win my first fight under Brandon, but by 2016 I achieved 5 championship belts and a Gold Medal for Team USA. From originally having an awkward style to becoming proficient in Muay Thai - I would say Evolution is an outstanding place to train. Whether you are training to fight, become fit, build confidence, or learn the techniques - YOU will get all of that accomplished here. The amount of work you invest in your training will reflect. I don't have anything negative to say about this gym, but a response to the reviews that are not 5 stars: 1. If it is your FIRST TIME visiting, arrive on time. 2. The gym is usually HOT when it's crowded. As a person who occasionally travels to Thailand for extensive training - I prefer training in warm facilities to prevent injuries and sweat out sodium. 3. Brandon is comical, but just like any trainer - he knows when to be serious. Training is already tough and can be intimidating to newcomers, so it's important to remember to have fun.
