This place has absolutely horrible customer service. I booked an appointment online well in advance, only to show up and be told their website is no longer used for booking. No one bothered to notify me beforehand. Then, when I arrived, one of the employees asked her coworker if she could do my gel manicure, and the coworker flat-out said, "No, I don't want to. My hands hurt." Are you kidding me? I'm a paying customer--it's your job to provide the service. They eventually told me no one could help me and that I'd have to wait until someone else finished. I had places to be and couldn't sit around waiting because of their disorganization and lack of professionalism. If you value your time and money, avoid this place at all costs. TERRIBLE. DO NOT GO. I wish I read the google reviews before coming here. I picked out a purple and it came out BROWN. When I called the woman out she said THERES NOTHING WE CAN DO. Because apparently they don't have nail polish remover? So painted over them BLACK. The pinky is partly unfinished. Half the nails are lopsided and crooked, not the same size per hand. I've had my nails done 100 times but I've never had them done here and I have to say I love the way they did my nails they were not thick the polish was amazing the technician even helped me pick out my nail polish because I wasn't happy with the other ones that I initially asked for! 5 stars!! I have to say there was this lady she let everyone know she's "a physician" she went off on one of the nail techs because apparently her paint on her nails didn't turn out the way she liked?? She was loud, and through out her new paint job she was going off on the lady! My friend had asked what was wrong w her nails to the clinician and that triggered Dr Karen so the sweet older Asian nail tech got her butt berated a good 45 min! Before Dr Karen left she announces "i e been coming her 2 yrs and I will not be back!!" hey dr Karen!!! No one wants you back! But when the good dr finally left the nail tech was literally in tears I was so hurt by the way this lady treated her! it taught me a good lesson about when things don't always go the way I want it, to always remember there's a human inside that has feelings and I'm sure problems that none of us are aware of, so please be kind to one another and remember it's just fricking nails!! If I could rate ZERO I would. I asked for a simple gel manicure and they couldn't even do that. Oh and they ripped my nail off when trying to remove previous acrylics I had. I honestly can't remember who did my nails but the whole thing seems sketchy. Even my toes came out bad!!!!! If I were you I wouldn't risk it. Ok so I went here this past weekend and fell in love all over again!! I got a regualr manicure and a deluxe spa pedicure (includes sea salt & paraffin wax treatment)..ahhmaaazing! The salon was nice and clean with a rightfully so relaxing atmosphere. It's a bit pricier, but they have specials depending on the day you drop in and you definitely quality that you're paying for! I actually live down this way so it's super convenient. It also helps that they have mail hours so don't close until 9 p.m. M-Sat.!!I'm sold...not going anywhere else. I had a 3 week old acrylic gel manicure that needed a fill. I'm from LA so I am always looking on Yelp for nail salons that do Kawaii style nails (cute designs, studs, ext.) when I come in town to San Diego to visit my family on the weekends. Came in and was greeted by Valerie (manager) she was super welcoming and attentive. Showed me all the gel colors they have and designs they could do. She showed me tons of studs, rhinestones, pearls, charms, that they can apply. I showed her a picture of a nail design from my phone and she made sure to explain to the technician how I wanted them to make sure they came out like the picture. She would come around to check up on me and ask if I liked everything so far ( shape of the nail, length, etc.) I really enjoyed the personal and attentive service. I didn't feel pressured at all to do anything I didn't want to. I am very pleased with how my almond shaped nails came out. If something wasn't right I would tell them and they would fix it without a problem. Pricing is competitive too :) I will definitely be back when I'm on town! Came here on a whim after shopping at the las Americas outlet for a regular manicure. The shop itself is spacious and clean, but I was turned off that my manicurist insisted I get a gel manicure which is almost 3x more expensive than a regular one. I'm not a huge fan of gel manicures because they leave my nails dry and rough after I remove it and also because I just don't want to spend that much money on my nails. Anyway, I paid $18 including tip for a regular French tip manicure. I think my manicurist did a good job cleaning my nails thoroughly and getting all the dead skin off the sides, but it was definitely not done meticulously. My nails weren't even filed evenly and my manicure chipped after less than 24 hours. It's so hard to find a good nail salon and sadly, this is another one that was just a miss. I first started coming to Amerinails back in June and I have been coming back ever since. I started coming here to get eyelash extensions and every time I leave from an appointment I'm always happy with how my lashes come out! (: I'm constantly getting compliments about how my lashes look so nice and natural for a while people couldn't believe they were extensions. I've seen other pictures of eyelash extensions but none of them have looked as good as getting them done at Amernails. The manger there Val is seriously the best at her job. She takes her time doing each clients lashes and never rushes her work. So many people come from different areas just to get there lashes done and I can understand why. Val is the best person I know who does lash extensions and I love going to see her. Not only is she great at her job but she constantly checks on other clients who come in and the other employees are just as great. As soon as you walk in there's a receptionist who welcomes you in and they always offer you a drink and snack while you wait. It's the best thing ever especially because not a lot of nail salons are like that. I recently started getting my nails done there also and I love it. I normally have Henry do my nails and I'm always satisfied with the end results. I always have a picture of how I want my nails to look and they always come out way better then I would've thought. I get many compliments on the way my nails looks. I'm usually have people telling me nice things about my nails, but the way that Henry does them is the best I have ever gotten. She's very professional, friendly and makes sure you always leave happy after your appointment! My go-to nail place is diva nails and haven't gone anywhere else in a very long time, this day I was in a hurry and decided to get my nails down here after I got my eyelash full, I left satisfied with my nails it was a simple white tip nothing special, after a few days my right index finger started to grow a lump on the side of my nail.. I sent Valerie a picture right away knowing she's the manager and she told me it wasn't infected and to come right in that they would fix it ... I couldn't make it in those days due to work but the lump grew a little more and it was actually painful I ended up going to the dr because everyone was freaking me out saying it was infected went to the dr and turns out to be it did get infected.. I don't want to bash their business but just a heads up to know where you get your nails done, and it I hope it doesn't happen to anyone else! I have been coming here for a while, but I moved to Chula Vista where I would go to a different nail salon. I'm one to never complain, and I have had many great experiences here, but the day I went was not very great. The lady who did my ($18) pedi was great, but it was not until I had asked for a ($10) eyebrow wax where it went downhill. I asked the receptionist if I could have a wax and she said that the Mexican lady who did my pedi was the only one who could do it. She was already starting someone's nails and asked her client kindly if she could service me first and the client said of course. We go into the room, and she starts waxing my eye brows. Her daughter opens the door WITHOUT knocking and hands her some kind of food. She eats it. She continues to wax me and I asked her if she can also wax the hairs on my forehead. She did not understand so I asked her again, in Spanish. Her daughter opens the door again WITHOUT knocking and watches her mother wax me while chewing and smacking on whatever she was eating and starts making conversation with her mother. The mother (not once) told her to leave. While waxing me she took a huge chunk of the wax and sloppily put it on my skin. The daughter leaves and comes back. The door slightly opened, but this time she was PEAKING inside. She finally leaves again and one of the ladies who work there comes inside and asks the lady what was taking so long and I said I asked her to do my forehead. She finally finished and I just wanted to get out of there. I politely thanked her, tipped her, and proceeded to the register. They charged me $18 for my pedi, but the receptionist asked one of the ladies how much to charge me for my wax. It was understandable if they charged me more than $10. The receptionist then told me it was $58 for everything. I swiped my card and left as I just wanted so badly to leave. As I was walking to my car, I was calculating in my head. I decided to go back and ask and the receptionist said $18 for pedi and $40 for the wax. My forehead isn't that HUGE... Is It? (I literally touched my forehead and asked myself that question) "Is my forehead worth a $40 wax?" I honestly just smiled, said thank you, and left. I knew I should have just gone to House of Beauty for my wax as they only charge $6 to wax my small forehead. I had a beer after. read more

My eyelashes are very thin, short, and straight, and with my wedding coming up, I figured lash extensions would be a good deal to dodge a bunch of eye makeup. It was my first time getting eyelash extensions ever, and Valerie was kind and patient enough to fill me in on the pre-appointment instructions once I scheduled. During the procedure, she let me know about all the details of what was going on so that I wasn't completely in the dark. She let me know which lashes would suit my natural lashes best, what length, why, etc. She was also very friendly the entire experience and we were able to engage in good conversation which helped the time pass even faster! The lash extensions came out even better than I was expecting! They look so natural and nicely enhance the length and volume of my natural lashes. After, she further explained what to expect and how to properly care for the lash extensions. Valerie is an AWESOME esthetician and I HIGHLY recommend her services! Can't get any better $75 for full lashes and $25-$40 for refill depending on how many lashes you've lost already. But you can go for 3 weeks without looking like you've just cried your eyes out with clumped up mascara. Just make sure to groom them from time to time with the mascara wand she gives you. Service wise, she's pretty aMazing! She's all abzout customer satisfaction and making sure they're happy with the end result. And she's super understanding! She'll let you sleep if you're tired, play whatever music you like, or keep you entertained with her conversational skills. I also get spa pedicures every time I get a refill of lashes. $18 :] pretty good I say - especially compared to the $20 and horror stories I hear that my homegirls always complain about. Service was very basic, pedicurist didn't even scrub my feet because she was in a rush to leave. At the end of my services I rounded my total to include the tip. The person charging me asked me twice what I wanted my total to be, only to come to realize that they had DOUBLED my tip WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION. This used be a good spot and definitely not anymore. I went to get gal manicure on Thursday, a guy greeted me and made me sit on the back. A lady came and she seemed like she did t know what she was doing in the beginning anyway. I can say that there was no manicure job at all except cutting my nails.. she did a bad job coloring it as well. It's only bad 2 days since I got my nails done and I'm not satisfied at all. I don't know if that day was her training day or whatever, the reason I didn't say anything that day because I didnt wanna make a problem. She also called the other lady and I could tell she was asking and talking about my nails, I think she knew she did a bad job . I was charged $37 for nothing.
