I frequent here because of the gym. The membership is more than affordable (almost a steal), and the center is always well maintained. The gym isn't the biggest or fanciest, but it has everything you need to keep in shape. The rec center also offers a myriad of athletic programs (basketball, softball, soccer, etc.) for both the younger ones and the not-so-young. I highly recommend checking this place out!

Dirty kitchen, 5 opened pizza boxes in the oven, Food on counter, refrigerator full of their personal things and just filthy, microwave and Ovens looks like it haven't been cleaned all year long. We reserved this facility months in advance. You knew we would be there today. Why do we have to spend 45 mins cleaning what should already be cleaned? 2. Who wants to have an event where a complete stranger (Mr Lee)keeps walking in and out? Going through the refrigerator, making plates to eat right after rudely telling the kitchen staff that they need to shut down the kitchen? 3. Mr Lee has got to be the most unprofessional employee I have ever encountered. Reunion ends at 4. It's 3:25 We playing our family game and he comes in and rudely shouts ITS OVER, CLOSE IT DOWN! After being told by a family member that we were wrapping up and will be out by 4! Even tho we were delayed by up to 45 minutes because of y'all negligence! 4. Mr Lee approached an older family member in the hallway saying "YOU MEN NEED TO TAKE ALL THIS TRASH OUT" Sir if you don't sit down somewhere. There's a way to talk to people. The building was built in 1910 and, when train traffic dropped in the 1960s, it stopped being used. In 1999, it got added to the National Register of Historic Places. Then, in 2010, it was moved to its current location, underwent renovations and is now the Historic Train Depot and Civic Center. The town uses the building for event space and also rents it out. I only viewed the building from the outside and didn't try to go in, but it is a beautiful, clean historic structure. It is within walking distance of the murals downtown, the Pickle Parlor and the David John Aaron Museum (that has limited operating hours).

I've visited the museum many times as I enjoy learning about Ava and seeing the new exhibits at the museum. There is a large parking lot behind the museum and even some spots near her mural to park for free. Parking on the street is no longer allowed, as a lot of vehicles were getting hit. But the parking is still very close by. When you arrive at the museum, you will be greeted. Admission was $14 on my visit, but they do offer military, senior and educator discounts. Your visit starts with a video of Ava's life to give you an introduction. It runs about 18 minutes, and there are many seats to pick from. The video helps tie all the exhibits together. From there, you can start exploring the museum and learn about Ava's humble beginnings. You will learn how she became an actress and star, see the dresses she wore, and learn about her three marriages to Mickey Rooney, Artie Shaw and Frank Sinatra. The museum contains lots of poster boards to read, filled with information, many personal and film mementos, you can watch her films, look at her personal library, and see art that an artist created of her. He put "Easter eggs" into the paintings for you to find. I highly recommend visiting the Ava Gardner Museum in Smithfield, NC. Make sure to stop in the gift shop for some mementos and other items.

I've passed by the billboards so many times and today I'm so happy to check this off my wish list. It was wonderful to learn all about eva Gardner, who came from this very town and became one of Hollywood's biggest stars! I loved learning about her after Hollywood life living in Europe with her beloved corgis! So interesting to learn about the fellas that she married in the kind relationship that she had with them after parting ways. I really enjoyed seeing her amazing fashions, face-to-face! I really enjoyed seeing her personal items too! There is also a theater where you can watch a video that tells about her life and shows her living her life to the fullest! The gift shop was also filmed with many charming things! And all things were priced very reasonably. There was eva, Gardner, coffee, and soap! And of course, books, videos, and postcards! I also love the fan that could be used on hot days that featured her wonderful smile! I loved visiting here !!
