We gave this bowling alley a bad review 11 months ago due to the bathrooms and they are STILL disgusting. The newer bathroom that has been remodeled is still disgusting and smells. Their idea of making it smell better is leaving green scent things on top of the counters and on the floor. Take a cue from the AMF off 104th and look at their bathrooms. Is this how money is being saved by not cleaning the bathrooms? The bathrooms should be cleaned every night and not once a year!!! We were the first ones in the bowling alley and the bathroom counter top was disgusting and still shad not been cleaned!!! There were paper towels still on the floor and paper. The sink bowl is supposed to be white and it is brown. If you don't want to clean the bathrooms and vacuum then hire a company to come in and do the cleaning. Corporate said to contact them and nothing ever came of it. read more

Here is my first revue of the 2023! We were invited to bring in the new year with Family and friends here and participate in Cosmic bowling and the celebration. So I will let everyone know that this establishment has been running at least since the mid '80's and after I turned 21 the Bar/Lounge used to a pretty local "hotspot" for dancing, playing pool, foosball and even added outside volleyball in the summer. But now things are different now. No more dancing, pool cues without tips, have to give an DL for a cue ball. But onto the bowling part. We were told that the event was to be $55 per person, that included 4 hours of bowling , shoes, NYE goodies, and food/drinks(soda). Well to our surprise when we arrived and prepaid to lock everything in since we had a party of over 20 ppl we were hit w another $11 pee person "event fee" so for 3 ppl it ran me $205!!! Anyway so once things finally got going, we had 6 lanes which one of them wouldn't work, balls in the lanes kept getting stuck , with the pins, or in the gutter. And some of our shoes were pretty shotty. But in the end we all had a pretty good time even tho we were there almost 2 hours before we got any food which and I'm not complaining but was bowling alley food, lol. In the end I would try and find somewhere else to throw some strikes and spares, might cost you more but I feel this place is in need of renovation. read more

Not too shabby of a place to bowl with some friends! If there isn't league, you can usually get in. Some of the features don't always work on all the lanes (last time the MPH of the ball wasn't showing) but for the most part things function as they should. Staff is really kind, I've never had an unpleasant interaction with any of the employees here and I've been 4+ times. There is food and drink available which is always a plus as well. I really want to check out the sand volleyball courts that are right outside the alley, curious to see if it's a part of AMF! read more

Friendly and helpful staff, bathrooms still could use some work for sure. They have a good pro shop with a nice and helpful man running it, he is always interacting with people and is always willing to help or show a pointer or two. The customer service here is horrible. It's a bowling alley, so I guess the bar shouldn't be too high. But compared to Northglenn, Westminster, and Monaco- this is amateur hour. Good luck getting anybody to answer a phone (hit 9, it's quicker than sitting through the menu and then you don't have a delay for your call not to answered). And don't ask once for the bumpers to be put down. Stay at the counter and ask twice. It took three times two weeks ago, and twice tonight. Just hope for the best. read more

Checked out Sonesta this afternoon for the first time. I hadn't bowled since November, so I was long overdue - not to mention that I was celebrating the recent news of the merger between the bowling center divisions of AMF and Brunswick. It's great seeing that two troubled companies united, and are now one. I experienced a very modern bowling center with an ample amount of house balls available, and real bowling shoes that were actually laced and in great condition vs. being the neon, velcro, too loose types that you get elsewhere. Lane conditions were spot on, not too oily or dry. There appeared to be a separate bar with a separate entrance, leading to an outdoor deck with a few regulation sized sand volleyball courts. Gotta admit, I've never seen that configuration at a bowling center before, but it might be fun in the warmer months. My only gripe was the cost, although I'm aware that bowling is not cheap these days - 3 games and shoe rental came to just over $22. Recommended, but it might be worth going during the times they have unlimited lane rentals, or at least some type of discount. read more

This establishment isn't kept up very well. The bathrooms are DISGUSTING!!! The entire building needs an update. We had heard that the building was on the list to get a full makeover, but now we heard that it's only getting a new paint job. Disappointed. My husband and I are on a league here, but we are most likely NOT going to come back here. They repaved the parking lot, but took out the handicap ramp and haven't put one back in yet. It's been 3 weeks now. I have seen a handicap bowler on a league here that has to climb up a small curb in his wheelchair to get into the building. I hope someone takes care of this. I have even had to clean the seating area behind the lanes I was bowling on myself. Someone had mashed M&M's into the carpet and I didn't want to get it on my bowling shoes. I went to the front counter and the person working the desk handed me the handheld vacuum to clean it myself. She didn't even offer for staff to come clean the area or ask why I needed the vacuum. Not great customer service. I could go on, but I think anyone who reads this will get that the place needs some general cleaning and maintenance. read more

I will never bowl at this house again. Some of the staff were fine, but at the front counter I couldn't even get my presence acknowledged. Had 15 kids and 5 adults ready to go bowling, the website said "Sunday fun day " which was after 3 pm $5 per person for 2 hours of bowling but when we showed up at the location, they were not offering that even though the website said they did. I've gotta say, for a regular bowler (about twice a month or so) I have checked out many bowling facilities in the Denver area. This was my second trip to Sonesta Lanes in Thornton and by far was the best center I have been to in a very very very long time. Starting off, I got to the center and the parking lot looked recently redone. For an older building it is nice to know that they are keeping up with some great fixing up projects! So I got inside and found out that AMF has changed to a per hour pricing instead of per game. THIS IS GREAT! First, there are several price choices, 1 hour with shoes, 2 hour with shoes, unlimited etc. All pretty reasonable when you price out the other bowling alleys around town. I was really shocked when I found out that they are offering an AMAZING DEAL through summer...check it out: Friday & Saturday nights $14 per person from 5pm-1am (yes, that's right 8 hours of bowling & shoes for only $14!) I paid it and then when I got to my lane I did some math, in 8 hours, i could literally bowl 32 games total...it's like 4 games per hour basically...that makes each game only around 31 cents each game with a few bucks included for the shoes...i was shocked and thrilled. Plus, around 10 pm it turns extreme...lights out, dance lights on, music charged etc...It was really cool! All that for only $14...I'm still in shock. The rest of the week Sunday - Thursday they are doing an $8 per person special from 8pm - midnight every day. That also includes the shoes. That means the price of each game is only 25 cents basically after shoe cost. I think I will be going back ALOT to do my bowling! I'm gonna tell my friends about this and see if we can get a regular bowling group together to go have some fun...this is cheap, they have tons of draft beer choices, a snack bar that makes real pizza, real burgers, and pretty tasty wings actually. i was there on Saturday when they had a new league start that apparently comes and bowls for a pitcher of Beer and an order of wings each week...that prompted me to buy the wings which were the bomb! Normally I don't write reviews, or for that matter even talk to many people but I talked to a couple of the Wings league bowlers and they were all pretty cool...saying that they did the league last year when it was Beer and Nacho's and it apparently changes each year to a new food choice...pretty cool. I might join it next week. Oh before I go, one last thing...there is a bunch of cool people working the lanes too. There is one lane waitress there named Candice who was probably the funniest person I have met in a long time. She was cool, quick and kept me laughing along with the lady up at the counter. I didn't get her name but she was pretty funny too. Overall great people, AMAZING PRICES...really AMAZING...the place was well kept, clean and inviting even for an older building. The people around there seemed to all be having a ton of fun and the building apparently offers pretty cool leagues to join that are cheap and fun! Sonesta...you have my eternal business!
