We had such a fun night at AMF Lanes in Syosset celebrating our seven-year anniversary event for work! The whole vibe of the place was energetic and perfect for a big group outing. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly accommodating, making sure our lanes were set up, food came out on time, and everyone was taken care of. The food was surprisingly good for a bowling alley hot, fresh, and perfect for snacking between games. You could tell the team there knew how to handle big crowds and keep things running smoothly. The bartenders absolutely killed it last night they were nonstop busy, but still smiling the whole time. I'll admit, we probably drove them a little crazy with how many rounds of shots we ordered, but they handled it like pros. They were total sweethearts, keeping the drinks flowing and the energy high even as we got a little tipsy and loud. It really added to the party atmosphere and made the night even more memorable. Between the drinks, laughs, and friendly competition on the lanes, it couldn't have been a better way to celebrate our milestone. Everyone had a blast bowling and cheering each other on. The staff made us feel welcomed from start to finish, and I can honestly say I'd love to come back here again whether it's for another company event or just a fun weekend night out with friends. Their website says you can't make a reservation before 4pm but that if you come in, you can get in a line to play. We arrived at 2:30 and were told 1 hour. 1 hour comes and goes and I'm told that now multiple reservations have been placed in front of me from online. I see that 4 lanes are sitting empty and I ask if we could just bowl for 30-40 minutes because now my kids are melting down. They say we can't because they need to stay empty for the 4pm reservations. They need to come up with a better system. read more

My sons 7th birthday was incredible! Lorraine and Wendy went above and beyond to make sure every expectation was met. So kind and accommodating. The kids had a great time! My only complaint is that the parties should be booked through the actual location and not through online corporate. They barely responded and I had to chase my party rep to get a phone call back. One of the better bowling alleys in the 5 boroughs and LI. We've been to our fair share of bowling alleys in the NYC and LI area and AMF Syosset is one of the best bowling alleys we've been to. Now what do I consider a good bowling alley? It has to look new and have all of the flashiness that keeps a bowling alley looking fresh. Bowling alleys are not what they used to be and GOOD bowling alleys should be a cut above the rest. AMF Syosset definitely meets all of the criterias of what a good bowling alley is. Like most of the AMF bowling alleys on the island, AMF Syosset was renovated a while ago and still looks brand-spanking new inside. There are 48 lanes here, so this bowling alley is huge. It's one straight through alley in that all of the lanes are side by side. There are large TVs covering all of the walls at the end of the lanes too. Each lane comprises of cushioned booth seating, which makes sitting a lot more comfortable. In addition, there's a kitchen and bar that serves a full menu of food and drinks, so it makes for a great place to hold a group hangout or party as it's a one stop shop. On the Saturday afternoon that we dropped in, the bowling alley wasn't too crowded. There were maybe 6-8 lanes occupied and a few group parties as well, but overall we had a great time and some privacy since no other bowlers were next to us. Our favorite AMF location - well maintained and friendly managers. love the re-modeling of the lanes over the past 2 years. The prices here are very reasonable compared to Manhattan and very clean too. My friends and I are frequent customers here. The staff is very friendly and service is great. Get the best value for summer pass and arcade games /card machine...gives people and kids other things to do while at the bowling alley. Love bowling here and trying to win toys for the kids...the big claw game is not easy but puts a smile to faces if you do win! All that hard work pays off...forget about how much you are spending (keep it real as it's for fun)! Food is good too - love the Love me tenders and fries... free refills on soda/seltzer. A lot of kids birthday parties here which definitely keeps the kitchen busy but you can still order food with the call of a button on your lane. Our favorite bowling alley out in LI. There is rarely a wait as there were about 42 lanes. The big screens and disco like music makes the place very lively and a favorite spot for kids' birthday parties. Cushion seatings are very comfortable. We sometimes ordered the finger food such as nachos, fries and flatbreads which were all very tasty. There are some games and a bar where people can just sit and chill. I can't wait for the summer passes to come out. For about $42, you can bowl up to three games a day every day for the entire summer (after Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend). Last year the pass included a passport option which meant you could bowl at any AMF locations across the country! read more

AMF Syosset blows all the other bowling alleys out of the water! I'm used to going bowling in stinky, sketchy places further east on the island but I had quite the opposite experience at this place. We had organized a group outing for the office at this place and they were very pleasant to coordinate with. They served food at our outing which was fresh and had a wide variety. The staff assisting us during the party was sooo nice and accomodating. They let us come in the afternoon before opening and we had the whole building to ourselves! The lanes are so pretty looking and everything is nice and high-tech. I loved the giant screens at the opposite side of the alley. It feels really clean here and they have plenty of space at each lane, for seating and for eating. I would definitely come back here with friends or family for some more bowling! read more

Great place to come out for some bowling. AMF Syosset has 48 lanes, snack bar, bar/lounge and a small arcade. Been coming here for years, lanes are generally clean and staff is friendly. There are lots of other bowling alleys closer to home but I choose to come out to AMF Syosset Bowl. The food is pretty good too. Good time to purchase summer pass. This usually starts around Memorial Day to Labor Day. Summer pass allows the pass holder to bowl three games per day, seven days a week and shoes are included. They have other bowling special like $2 Tuesday's and Friday night special from 10pm to closing (sorry, forgot the price) but you can inquire at the front desk. read more

So my 5 year old loves bowling and so we just had her birthday party here over the weekend and had no idea what to expect. Really blown away by the quality of decorations (they have your kid's name in lights), quality of the food (wings, pasta salad, and assorted wraps) - way better than what we were expecting, and most importantly, the service. Our server's name was Robin and she was so friendly, accommodating, and welcoming to my family and our guests. Kids enjoyed the arcade after as well. Debated on whether or not to bother leaving a review but if this helps someone when trying to make informed decisions on whether or not to support a venue that takes absolutely zero covid precautions, then I felt leaving the review is necessary. My family & I were here over the weekend for a birthday party. We considered skipping altogether but decided to go as we haven't done any sort of "normal" activity since this whole pandemic mess began, figured since we were all vaccinated, we felt reasonably okay doing this. Also went with the understanding that if we did not feel comfortable, we would just bail. That being said - this place takes absolutely ZERO precautions related to covid. None whatsoever. No signs anywhere encouraging mask use, which is still recommended by CDC & WHO. Or any other signage pointing out covid risks like other businesses have been doing. Zero hand sanitizing stations anywhere. No staff wearing masks. Poor ventilation. Party food out in the open. Did not see anything visibly being cleaned or sanitized while we were there. Have no idea who is or is not vaccinated. It's reasonable to assume that any child in the venue running around maskless is most likely unvaccinated (more so those under age 5...kids over 5, maybe a 50-50 chance they've had the vaccine). With the exception of one gentleman that was running around trying to regulate the chaos, the rest of the staff were rude. I will never return to this place - even if it's for a party invite. For those reading, if covid is a concern to you, I highly recommend avoiding this place. If you don't mind covid cooties or potentially getting sick and dying, then by all means, go at your own peril. read more

Local bowling joint. I'm not a big fan of bowling overall- I'll throw a game or two but then I'm bored and want out. We popped in here on a whim and even though it was league night, the guy at the desk gave us a lane- which actually pissed off some of the league weenies. That being said, we did have a lot of fun and since we were right between two different leagues, I got to compare my score and lucky for them I wasn't bowling against them as they weren't that good - and neither am I! DO NOT GO HERE! NASTY MANAGER, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Several of my friends and I went on a Sunday evening to enjoy our time and we experienced the nastiest attitude from the worker behind the counter and to make matters worse, the manager's attitude was even nastier. We had a group of 6 and they would not offer us two lanes. They wanted all 6 of us to play in a single lane (which is ridiculous) and the bowling alley WAS HALF EMPTY...There were 20+ lanes available. When we asked for an explanation on why we could not be given two lanes, the worker with a negative tone/bad attitude from the get-go said "lanes are under maintenance". Ok fair enough, so we ask how often do they do maintenance just out of curiosity. Their response? "It doesn't matter because we won't be giving you two lanes anyway". We asked why they were treating us so negatively and all they could do was give excuses. Apparently they thought we were another group of people who frequently comes and causes trouble. Excuse me? How does this make any sense. Does that mean as a worker in customer service, you are justified to treat a certain group of people a certain way? Also not to mention how wrong it is to assume we are part of a specific group of people because we are of Asian ethnicity? FYI, we have not visited this bowling alley in months and to receive this kind of disrespect over a simple request is mind boggling. My friends and I will not be going to AMF Syosset any longer as long as these rude people are working there. Will also be spreading the word about the negative experience. The manager (Wendy) and the worker (Vanessa) is the absolute worst! Please fix your poor attitude and body language. One of my favorite alley's on the island. They upgraded their screens long before other lane's. I'm deducting a star for one of the ladies behind the counter who I had one of the worst customer service experiences with in my life. Everything asked of her was responded to with an attitude, slamming down shoes and groaning when asking for a ball for which they didn't have a weight of in the ball return on ours or nearby lanes. I doubt she's still working there. Most times I've come here this has been a non-issue though. Side note, I hate extreme bowling. Let me start off by saying that it's been at least 20 years since I went bowling. We had just finished up having a nice dinner nearby with some friends and decided to come over to AMF for a little fun. And fun we had. Perhaps it's because we came in on a Saturday night, but the place was pretty packed- even for 10:00 pm. Inside it's very clean and the lanes are new and in good shape. Video monitors on the wall near the pins keep you entertained with music videos. I would have preferred a little more lighting on the lanes themselves, but it's not as though I was in a tournament for a gold cup. Bumpers in the gutters keep the kids encouraged by being able to knock down some pins every time. This alone has to help with repeat business. Nothing more demoralizing than being young and throwing gutter ball after gutter ball. I think it's a great feature for ensuring that at least on the first ball thrown, everyone gets some pins and a score. One of the things I remember about most other bowling places in the past was the number of balls available on long racks behind the ball return machines. A major part of being able to be successful at this game is having a ball that fits your fingers. There are more selections behind the counter where you get your shoes, but they'll provide you with one in your size and then begin to service the other customers in line. If you want to try another, it's back to waiting. Seems it was more efficient the old way- let me have access to the ball I choose for myself. That said, if I cared that much, I guess I'd have my own ball custom made for my fingers. Wait, I do care that much. Let me pick my own ball. There, I've said my piece on that. There's a bar to get some frosty beers and what-nots- Who can bowl without a nice drink waiting for them upon their return? There's plenty of room for parties and events. Overall, it was a nice night out and it didn't break the bank. Sure, we'd come back as we had some good fun and were able to catch up with some friends we hadnt seen in a while. read more

This place....no one was wearing masks. Under age drinking. I slipped in throw up trying to go the bathroom because underage girls can't handle their liquor. Love my local bowling alley! Many a night have we had one too many drinks, and decided that throwing some balls down an alley was the best idea ever. This AMF is very clean, and has a nice bar section - it's not all that hopping unfortunately, but if you have your own group, they have a $20 all you can bowl till close, which is pretty decent if you're looking to bowl for a while. They gave us a bunch of lanes as well which is convenient so you can play more games. So obviously I didn't bring socks bc I was wearing sandals, and had no previous notion that I would end up bowling... SOCKS ARE $3 - MINUS 1 STAR! Are you joking? That's hella expensive for a cheap pair of socks from a vending machine. 300 over in Huntington gives out free socks. Service at the bowling station was good, but to get food... takes forever, even late at night. I'm sure when it's busy, it must take forever. Their food section could improve. This prices are also really high for some fries or a burger. Their bar/drinks are not that strong, and are watered down, I guess you can't expect much from the local bowling alley bar. Lesson learned. They really could work on their food/drinks portion of the establishment, the bowling part would get 4.5 stars from me. Over experience.... decent. If you're coming here for the bowling, do it. If you're there for the drinks or food, I would walk over next door to the Wendy's, the prices, and quality of your food sucks more than a fast food restaurant. read more

I have to admit that the bowling facility looks nice. The place is clean (most of the time), the lanes are okay, and the atmosphere is cozy as well. But, the service is just terrible. I went on a Monday afternoon with a bunch of my friends. When we went to ask for the Family Fun Pack, they said there were no lanes available. If my eyes weren't mistaken, 60% of the bowling lanes were open. One of the workers said that they had a reservation and there was a party taking place "soon". Even though I couldn't understand what party could possibly take up 60% of the lanes, I understood. After waiting for about 5 minutes, we started seeing different lanes empty out. We went up again and asked if there were lanes available. The worker we spoke to before got annoyed and had someone else come to talk to us. This worker told us that there were lanes open but we just couldn't do that Family Fun Pack (2 hours of unlimited bowling for 54 dollars). We asked why and they said just because; all while there were other people in front of us getting lanes left and right. Even the family that came after us got a lane in about a minute. I was confused to say the least. They could not give us two lanes and they could not give us a clear reason as to why. But, in the end it all worked out. We found another bowling alley 1/5th of the price of this facility and we got to bowl for twice the amount of time. I don't think I'm going back to Syosset Lanes. read more

The bowling alley is very nice however the employees were not pleasant. I feel that we were racially profiled and judged. The employee denied our state issued identification and asked for car registration to verify which is not a usual procedure. The manager of the Alley after rudely verifying that our identification was valid told us "don't come back." This place isn't worth your hard-earned money. It's too expensive here. Every employee (except the oldest gentleman) had an attitude yesterday. If you don't enjoy your job don't be inconsiderate to the customers. 2 of us never been here before and the prices are ridiculous. $8.95 per game, $6.99 per shoe rental before evening price increase. $50 to bowl less than an hour worth of time is not nice, especially for an afternoon. Too expensive to enjoy 2 games. The male cashier just wanted our credit card from the moment we approached the counter "to hold the lane". He didn't explain anything to us. We said we never been there before and asked if there's a choice at a hour rental and he said no and still wanted our card even though we were going over the possible charges. The the cashier was awkward with our credit card at the swipe device. He didn't say thank you, no politeness from him and he didn't give a receipt. The cashier didn't mention which lane he assigned us, gave me a tude when I asked which lane is ours. The lane next to us were heard saying the cashier wasn't nice to them either. The bar prices are ridiculous for soda, food and beer. 2 cokes, and 1 cup of blue moon $21.05! It's such a joke these prices. Bartender needs another bartender to help her with the orders; management needs to get more employees on weekend shifts. Drink prices aren't posted, so the bartender is probably increasing the drink prices for her pocket, especially since she can't come up with a receipt, which is shady practice. Something isn't adding up at this location. It's too bad, because I just wanted to enjoy a day of bowling! Not going back to this location. Mom and pop businesses deserve our money more. read more

Huge facility. Updated and a little neon-y. Somewhat difficult for non-leaguers to get lanes on nights other than Saturday nights, but maybe that's their creative way to get people to join leagues. Sneaky? The machines are a little finicky. One out of every three games or so you'll have to buzz the people up front to help get those pesky pins fixed or a stuck ball out of the black hole... but that's probably half the fun. read more
