My friend had recently posted on Facebook about the beautiful home send-off of her best feline friend of 20 years, and before that I thought the only way was to make those soul-crushing car rides and have it done in a place that usually scares them. We decided that calling someone in to do it in Spatz's favorite spot by the window where she'd doze off while watching the constant action at the bird feeders would be perfect. Dr. Beth was professional, explaining each part of the process beforehand and during it, asking permission between each step and giving us all the time we needed to process each one. While Spatz was whacked out on the sedative, Dr. Beth made a lovely casting of her paw print as a keepsake and offered to snip a lock of fur, which we declined to do. When she confirmed the deed was done, she expressed her condolences and discreetly slipped away to allow us to grieve privately as a family. Everything she did for us was perfect, and we're so grateful to have been able to give Spatz that one last gift of drifting away painlessly in her sleep with the assistance of a compassionate soul. It's a god-awful thing to have to say goodbye to someone that's a cherished part of your life, but I'm absolutely convinced that doing it at home is the most wonderful way to do it - both for your animal friend and for sparing yourself the agony of seeing how afraid they are at the clinic so soon before they go and being helpless to stop it.

Doctor Beth drove to our house in the middle of her busy work day and comforted all four of us - me, Chuck, little Truman, and Kayla - with her gentle words and her calm efficiency. Kayla died in peace and comfort because of her, and we thank her and Creature Comfort for being there when we most needed help. Like Comment Share

Let's face it. No one wants to be in need of an emergency animal hospital. However, the reality is…read morethat those of us with pets may very well find us in that situation. I have found myself in that position several times. Unfortunately, there are no emergency veterinarian services in my area. BluePearl of Appleton is the closest one which is a 2 hour drive for me. Recently, my standard poodle, Jaxx, was suffering from symptoms of gastric dilatation-volvulus (GDV) or what's commonly called "bloat". So, we took the two hour journey to BluePearl of Appleton and were greeted professionally and with concern and compassion. It was a Friday night and apparently a very busy night for them. A vet tech came out to greet us and address the health concerns of Jaxx. Jaxx was taken back to for a brief examination, followed by an x-ray which confirmed that he did have bloat. Dr. Chris Stretton explained to me the dire situation Jaxx was in and the procedure that was needed to correct the problem as well as risks and options. Dr. Stretton also explained to me that due to a staffing shortage and an overwhelming amount of patients on this particular night that I might have to self transport Jaxx to another emergency animal facility 87 miles away. However, he was very honest with me and said that this would be risky due to the short window of time that this procedure needed to be performed. In other words time was of the essence. They began to prep Jaxx for me to transport but due to Dr. Stretton's concerns and a consultation with another doctor...Dr Matthew Brock... they made the decision to go ahead with the procedure. Dr. Brock, as I later found out, was already working well beyond his scheduled shift yet he was willing to stay and do the surgery himself. Words cannot describe the emotional sigh of relief that came over me at that moment! All the staff at BluePearl of Appleton, in my experience, have gone above and beyond! The receptionist, vet-techs and Dr Brock and Dr. Stretton have shown exceptional compassion, and professionalism. Due to the experience and dedication of the team at BluePearl of Appleton, Jaxx's surgical procedure was successful and therefore life-saving! Gratitude to you all....THANK YOU!

Let me just start with saying the vet techs and some of the receptionists are very kind and…read morecompassionate toward us and our dog. However, we will never be returning to this vet. My dog had a growth that looked like a hemorrhoid. I explained this to the vet techs when he got his anal glands done and they checked and said they could not see it which is weird because it was big enough where I personally could see it. I saw it again at home and took him back. They looked at him and said they didn't see it, without examining with their fingers or anything. One month later I'm at a new vet who told me he has a tumor there that needs to be biopsied. When we spoke with the hospital manager Frank Fiachinno, on the phone, he did not take accountability and was not nearly as kind on the phone as he is acted in response to my review. He never said sorry to me. He put on a front, acted totally indifferent and was the most condescending person I had ever spoken to. He even laughed at me on the phone saying "he didn't respond to threats or bad reviews" as my husband told him that we would be leaving bad reviews about this experience after he had treated us poorly and refused to apologize or refund us and gaslit us the entire time, telling us that we were to not believe our own eyes. Just so frank knows, my plan was always to leave bad reviews and involve legal action for our dog's pain and suffering. The first time we brought our dog into the office over a month and a half ago the growth was popping out of his anal cavity when he would go to the bathroom. It was clearly visible and painful for him. He attempted to nip at one of the vet techs for the first time ever as he has been going for a routine examination like this for his anal glands for 7 years. As I stated above, the second visit with a vet, she looked at his rear end and said it looked fine and did not even attempt to check with her fingers even after we told her the growth was inside. Her name is Denise Belue. Two visits in a month to address this issue. They did not examine him appropriately. Luckily we have found out that the problem with our dog did not develop progressively as Frank tried to suggest, it's been a chronic condition that the vet and vet techs should have noticed. Our problem is not with the 70 bucks they owe us for not doing anything in the exam, but for ignoring us when we knew something was wrong and then refusing to take any accountability. It's the principle of the matter. Frank, I hope you resign from your job because if it's not clear to you already, it's not a good fit for you to be dealing with customer service. Thank you for showing me the true, snarky, uncaring, and irresponsible character of Point Area Vet. I wouldn't recommend taking your animals here if you want people who actually care about your pet and want them to live.
